This seems so much easier than regular honeycomb smocking. Question...How wide do you have to make the fabric? In otherwords...if I have a bodice pattern piece that will be 7" across, how wide do I have to make the fabric? How do you determine this?

The actual amount of fabric required depends on the smocking design and the weight of the fabric, but in general, you will need 3 times of fabric of your final measurement. Thankyou !
So interesting. I have 2 questions. 1) Can you tell me the length we need for fabric if we want for example 20 inches? Or any other scale, if you have? 2) which pen do you use? Thank you.

For ur first query 1.) Generally, you will need three inches of fabric for every inch of the finished smocked piece (3 times) but the weight of the fabric and the smocking design will determine exactly how much fabric you will need.
2.) I used a normal pencil for the sample but actually we should use Heat erasable Fabric pen refill. Thank you
