Yes, you can still buy coolant level gauges that measure the antifreeze-to-water ratio. These devices typically come in the form of hydrometers or refractometers. Hydrometers: These are simple tools that float in a sample of coolant and give a reading based on the specific gravity, which can indicate the concentration of antifreeze. Refractometers: These are more precise instruments that measure the refractive index of the coolant, providing a direct reading of the antifreeze concentration. What kind of car you got? Good Luck!
@@fixit3879 2000 626 Mazda 2.5 v6 5sp I was having over heating issues and I comepletely forgot to check the rad cap , it was failing . Its better now but my temp still rises abnormally if I speed up to 75 80 Maybe the rad is clogged? Maybe the coolant water ratio is deluted? 24 yr old radiator ?? Does a rad lose its cooling ability over the years? Runs perfect , doesnt burn a drop. Overflow reservoir replaced . all hoses replaced. , new waterpump , head gasket timing chain . Cant figure out this over heating problem
A broken water pump can end in an engine blowout, what is life-threatening at higher speeds. I had to experience this by myself. The water pump needs to be replaced with the timing belt. But, it is not always done. If you buy a used car, change water pump and timing belt, if you have no EVIDENCE that it was changed.
Thought you would have mentioned the radiator cap as well?
We probably forgot to do that. Thank you for sharing.
can you still buy a coolant level guage??? measures antifreeze to water ratio
