Thanks for the good information. My car heats up inside but the temp gauge fluctuates and the other day it did what u said about flat cold and ac off temp hot when I got home and started back up temp gage went to normal reading . I had just changed thermostat in February this year and temp sensor approximately 4 years ago. Haven't looked for codes yet as I have been busy. Mine is 2009 3.5 L I will continue to investigate as I can't afford mechanic right now. Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving !
After almost 190,000 miles, my 2014 impala pulled this stunt for the first time. I had a 2006 impala that did it often after 200k miles. It's probably a frayed wire going to the sensor, because the next day, I was literally on the way to the auto parts store to get a new sensor, when the temp gauge returned to normal readings half a mile from the store. I think the car heard me muttering something about me replacing the car and started to behave again.
How do you take the air out of the system. I have replaced the water pump ,the thermostat ,the sensor. I do get a leak by the reservoir and it starts like returning water to it.
The needle was at cold. We bought the car for 880.00 at auction. The power steering hose clamp was leaking, it's got some problems which I am taking to the shop tomorrow. The AC and heat are not working and is making a weird clicking in the dash.
Hey brother thanks for the video it was really helpful… I have a 2013 impala as well and i think i have a bad thermostat did you ever post the video on how to change a bad thermostat ?
@@erneststraightjr Odd. I replaced the Coolant Temp Sensor, but problem didn’t go away until I unplugged the battery. It drive without “Engine Hot” alert for 6 days, then alert came back on. I unplugged battery again & it’s been driving great again 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
