Unique farmstead started as a 2 room cottage now an eccentric maze of rooms! Sheds with stuff too!

- Hey explorers! This is now one of my favorites rural explores as this old farmstead must have so many stories and chapters to tell dating back the late 1800`s when it seems it was originally a small 2 room cottage. As the farm prospered and family grew an almost completely new entire home was joined to the cottage probably around the early 1900`s. Lot of different decors and themes in this maze of rooms! Absolutely unique place that seems to have been abandoned about 23 years ago.
Some sheds out the side shows a hoard of old TV`s and electronics suggesting a repair project.
The place is not too far gone and could be restored. Hope you all enjoy the tour, cheers for watching :-)

Hey Paul I think the birds you come across inside the old farm houses are barn swallows. I've read that they make a cup nest from mud pellets in man made structures. They are not our native swallows.
And I think it is so genuinely polite of you to tell people to leave things as they have found them. Good role model😊
Did you find a bathroom or did I miss it? 24:16. May it was part of a hallway once upon a time.🤷♂️32:49 The fuel tanks could be for cars where they lay down just under the car. It is certainly true that the more space you have the more junk you have. 36:46 Looks like the back of some door locks, the old square ones. Oh I remember now….it was at the very beginning. Told you I was lost!
G'day,it's not a wool shed, those slopping stumps made of concrete and set up high and the building atop was for bags of grain, hight to ventilate, keep dry and keep mice out, that design stems from the 1890s had one on our farm exactly the same stumps for same purpose, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Like you said, this place has a lot of stories to tell with the generations of families living there. Would have been beautiful in it's day as a fully functional farm. Thanks for showing us. 🦘😁

inside and definitely a nice farm on the prairies at one time
and very nice scenery around it outside, as always another
great abandoned house and this part of Australia is really

Given the windy and isolated location, I don't blame them for wanting more protected space and enclosing the verandah. It's probably a good bet that the wind is going to wreak more than the usual ammount of damage as time goes by. Another great outback SA [stobie pole noticed] find. Thanks Paul.

Did you forget the Aerogard? I'm sure the gaitors are more important. What a rabbit warren of a house. I think that the time when the house was built they were much more traditional and conservative. We had higher standards back then. Functional but still beautiful. You can see with the different times in our past that sensibility just went out the window. And you did what you felt looked good. Like carpet on the walls. What would our ancestors think. That we were just a pack of retards. And I think they would be right. Give me good old fashioned grace and dignity any time. Thanks Paul. Thanks for mentioning the snake gators!!! I worry about you in the thick brush. Living in Texas made me squirrelly about snakes and I've heard so much about them in your country!! This house was very unusual... kind of a shame so much was changed. Tin ceiling was gorgeous though!

Great explore! It certainly is a bit of a maze with lots of add on rooms. Love the pressed tin ceilings. Very interesting house indeed! Those birds get to enjoy living there now. 🐦😉

The way things are goin these days it would not put it (pass me) all these abandoned homes here in Australia or other counties people would be movin in to them because of the rise of mortgages and renting, or i could be wrong as all ways hehe
They likely would if they could. I would. Having means, know how and permission to fix them up is something else though...
Australia I find is a fascinating place with a unique history. I'm too chicken to visit though because u have so many deadly creatures. I always thought the USA was bad but u put us to shame...lol

Hi Paul, thx for yet another explore. Bit of a head scratcher this one. That small room near the galley kitchen...logically if a pantry, it would have been near the original or older kitchen, but opened into the lounge area, with that fireplace with the classic rounded brown brick hearth, so not sure. There were alot of tiles out in that first shed, plus the ones outside with the flower print. Wonder if they were considering another re-vamp, though the bathroom was clearly quite recent. Seems you just celebrated another trip around the sun...congrats 🎉🎂🎁🤗

Just my opinion, but I think it has lost some character with all of the multi-era stuff going on. It looks solid enough, so if it were mine I would take it back to the original and keep the verandas as they would have been.

Looks like the extensions were made up of what ever could be bought cheap or bargain, as with piles of tiles in and out of shed.

Maybe some people working on the land nearby used that old home as a place to shelter & prepare drinks when they took a break, after it had been abandoned as a home.
Wash off after a days work makes sense to me. Might of ended up as workers accomodation is my guess.

Those flys would have been a pain mate dreadful things they are. Definitely a gem mate that shower its huge a shower made for two maybe Alice and her partner used it for the last time. Wow love the hallway the ceiling reminds me of the wolf creek manor. This is a large home with a few rooms, also the lounge room was nice mate, nice ceilings nice place cheers mate.
Love it! I like tin tile ceilings and the older door handle fixtures. That was some really green tile in the bathroom. This was like a time travel you could see with the different additions. In the first shed the sound the roof made, it sounded like the dryer in there was being used! Thank you for going out and finding these places and telling about them. Can't wait until your next explore!🎉👍
looks like a mod podge of rooms as the family grew they just kept adding on over the years still not in to bad condition it is good that you are concerned for the animals well being great explore Paul

What a wonderfully strange house. I imagine the area in front of the veranda was once beautifully landscaped to complement the pretty trees. Ahhh, what a lovely sight that would have been. And, as a gentle breeze ruffled my hair, I would sing; Our house is a very, very, very fine house, with two cats in the yard… (Our House…Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) At least, that’s what I ‘see’. 😊❤️
I'm sooo glad you mentioned the swallows and starlets, cause i was going to ask you about that. I've seen you take great care with other critters over the years making sure they have a way out. Another reason you're my gave explorer. Some crazy modifications on this ol beauty. I'm playing catch up on your explores, and still wondering how the poor little fox passed in a previos one, i kept looking for rat bait left out or whatnot. ..

The shearing shed probably blew away. Its Windy. Its got floors. Better than last weeks. It looks liveable. There's a lot of history in that home. It took me a while to workout the layout of the place as you kept coming across more rooms LOL

That wooden fretwork sure is pretty and the double doors with nobby carved wood is pretty too.The newer layout sure is strange!

Very strange layout. I don't think all hope is lost but boy, would it take a lot of time and money to reconfigure and renovate/restore.
Another amazing old home. Love seeing the abandoned farm properties.
Someone would have to own this house. Given the "improvements" over time there would have to be descendants of the original owners.

I remember seeing an old settlers home many years ago and this lady showing us the home said that homes back then started with a few rooms and as the family grew or when they had more money, more rooms were added. Maybe that's what happened here.

à environ 18:35 c'est un peu haut pour un espace de stockage, mais pour de grandes jardinière c'est possible (je ne pense pas que cela soit pratique (profondeur) pour stocker quoi que ce soit. L'auvent qui c'est écroulé signale que peut être c'était devenu l'entrée principale il y a beaucoup de modification.
La petite pièce à 24:31 devait être avec celle de 25:20. Un garde manger qui donnerait sur la salle à manger je doute. un petit salon ou une petite salle de lecture aussi (pas assez de lumière pour le second) et encore moins un espace couture.
à 37:33 cette pièce pouvait servir de bureau ou de petit atelier pour l'électronique. Mais s'il y avait un hangar pour stocker la laine il y avait un élevage de mouton donc besoin d'un bureau pour tout ce qui est administratif

Great explore Paul. Abandoned pastoral homesteads are always keepers and tellers of stories past. I'm always impressed that very few appear to have notable structural defects but as this building has substantial extra development, it really is an unknown. Looking forward to the next.👍👍
