Great insight! My philosophy with any animal is to treat them with respect and they should not see you as a threat (as long as they are not some apex predator or something)
excellent! I have had snakes in the yard in the past, and always watched and observed, but let them alone. I got to see a black racer shed its skin, a coral snake cross the path in front of me; I was wearing boots and just watched it. The snake coiled up and watched me, then decided I was uninteresting, and crawled through a horse stall and out the back.

Only the sea snakes off the coast of CT are poisonous.
