- What a way to start an adventure! Driving up through several states to a place called Snake Road in Illinois. Snake Road is an excellent place. It has great habitats with Bluffs and lowlands. The snakes in the area migrate during different times of the season. With that type of habitat and climate, it makes it a great place to see snakes. In this video, we find some snakes and salamanders, but our main focus was the 2024 total eclipse. What a fantastic experience!
However, the trip isn’t over yet. My daughter and I will travel to Missouri, Arkansas, and the Mississippi Delta in upcoming videos.
Loved the time lapse on the grass and seeing the shadow come over the field! A new perspective.
I drove my sister, niece and 2 grandsons 3hrs to see totality. It was a very beautiful emotional event. It was one of the most spectacular things I’ve ever seen/witnessed. It was a once in a lifetime expérience!
It is an incredible experience. If I had the money, I would fly to another country to see it again.
Glad you made it to my favorite place on earth (so far lol). I hope you enjoyed it my friend!
It’s a really neat place! I’ll have to go back during the fall.
@@MichaelLDye that place explodes in the fall! Used to be spring was the time to go, but with the way the climate is changing so much spring is kinda funky these days. If you go this fall, I hope to see you there, I usually make a few trips during that time.
Theres western diamond back rattlesnakes there I know they guy who released them in the 90s about 60 of them
IF he did that, he left them to die. That is not the kind of habitat in which they can thrive. It’s over 250 miles NE of the closest recorded sighting on iNaturalist. My guess is that it’s a big fish story.
They're still there I seen them at Little Grand Canyon in 2018 there is a small population of western diamondback rattlesnakes in Illinois believe it or not I know it's true I'm 55 years old I don't have nothing to lie about
