      @@anthonythomasfmg Thank you Anthony.I was looking at some ptfe lined exhaust hose for the fume hood I am building,but 10 feet of it is 1000$.Do you think a 304 -316 grade stainless steel or even pvc would withstand the acidic exhaust?I don't think a scrubber would work out in this climate unless there is a dry filtratration to neutralize the exhaust or some component of antifreeze I could pump it into.Average Temps here can be 20f or well below this time of year.

      @@williamallen8048 PVC or PVDF will work better than stainless. Everything stainless I have rusts in my lab. PVC will hold up for a few years and is cheaper but doesn't do that great with strong bases in the long run. I purchased a 20' flexible orange pvc lined duct for $150 on Amazon and it has held up for 2 years now pretty well but I'd say it's on it's way out this year some time. It's getting a bit brittle.

    Where did you get the “pouring” tongs…I like the stop on them

    • @anthonythomasfmg
      @anthonythomasfmg  Месяц назад

      I made them out of a large vise grip and a pair of tongs.

    Is that a hard pipped natural gas furnace ? Sounds like you have forced air mix ?

    instead of a platinum plate anode, can you use a anything else, say like a lead anode?

    • @anthonythomasfmg

      @@richard-l448 I suspect other types may work but I have not experimented with anything other than pt because it works so well. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
