I had the pleasure of hearing Dimitrova live several times, What a true great. Zajick is very special too although I did not have the pleasure of hearing her on stage.

Vado al teatro dal 1956 . il vecchio PS Le sue registrazioni purtroppo sono di pessima qualità. I microfoni odiavano la sua voce Splendida. Nelle sue registrazioni Lei non sentirà mai gli armonici della sua voce divina,purtroppo.
It's not until the very end that you figure out Dimitrova was wearing bat-sleeves. For the most part, she just stood there, not even attempting to do much. Because THE VOICE and what she was doing with it was enough. Can we have more of that, please? More actual voice?
It would have been fun to have Grace Bumbry as Laura with Dimitrova/Gioconda. And Bumbry /Gioconda with Zajick/Laura. Or Marton as Gioconda with Dimitrova as Laura 😅
Don’t want to destroy the party but if you watch and listen you’ll see that Dimitrova has 0 tension while Zajick doesn’t sing totally natural and relaxed.
two sopranos!!! The soprano has even better low notes than the so called mezzo who has not such good top notes because of spreading the mouth ( no proper girare).

Super!! Thank you Spieldenberg. This is like listening to Cigna and Stignani. These two voices are among the (very small) handful that really compare to the greats of 80 years ago. That Dimitrova was this great, we always knew; but as we can plainly hear in direct comparison, Zajick also truly belongs in this historic company. Finally, real voices.

Zajick was excellent live! I sang Cavalleria Rusricana chorus with Dimitrova in the middle 80s and she was epic! Very FAT voice.
Was Dimitrova's voice as huge in person as it sounds in recordings?
