This is one of the best recordings of her singing this aria.....what a great singer and modest nice person she was.She had to much respect to sing Wagner, she should have, she would have blown away almost everything what is called "dramatic soprano" nowadays....her voice is outstanding , her technique solid and there is NOTHING what is coming close to her !!!! We all miss out great Ghena Dimitrova !

A glorious dramatic soprano. Her voice improved in firmness over the years by the 90’s. She was always exciting and this does not disappoint.

So I have the memory of this amazing Artist and a mother -like figure to all of us ,who was so good and generous with all of us in the Greek National Opera ,from top to the minor , despite her huge artistic size ..as a mother to all of us ..this is the real size of a " huge " person .. first to be good to everyone .. they all started somewhere! she did not forget it !! every day from rehearsals to performances
she was our Lady Ghena,and we gave her flowers every day..because we wanted to give her something a little ..in exchange for the music she had given us..do you understand now?

Absolutely out of pitch since the first note... I love her in her prime, but intonation problems are not ok

yet she's still better than many and most opera singers😂 which is, well, disappointing
What a sad spectacle! Such a shame that she tried to do this at 57 years old. The first notes are excruciating as is most of the rest. The only bright spot is the final "maladizion." And she's so stiff as a actor. There is little pathos here, only a worn out voice. I fear that many of you who praise her for this do so because you love her. That's fine. She had been a wonderful singing actor, especially in the impossible role of Abigaile. But not here.
