- This week Plant Lovers, I felt this gorgeous cool growing primary hybrid Promenaea Colmaniana was worth it's own video! Such an interesting orchid with an equally interesting history; it's easy to grow and a vigorous flowerer! I've had it for a couple of years now and this year it has definitely come into it's own! If you're interested I bought it here: www.collectors... and I have once seen it for sale at an orchid society sale so another reason why you should join your local orchid group!
So pleased to see you each Friday, I have some orchard s. I live in penshurst vic 👍
Thanks for watching!
Good morning Mathew, your description of the orchids does waken interest to some who still think orchids are difficult to grow. I think they actually are, but it depends on the breeding of the plant like all else, good dna will give a much stronger plant. At times much attention will help a struggling plant to respond to good care. Orchids do look ever so smart in the terracotta pots yet it is a risk as some roots just like to cling too much to the sides. Love your plants, and thanks for the interesting talks and advice. Have a great day.

Hi Matthew,
Very nice plant, and great video, as usual.
I just heard about the storm in Melbourne, I hope you’re fine and safe!
Oh thank you - much worse in the surroundings of Melbourne - we were lucky - many not so.
I love your unusual variety of orchids.
Thanks for watching!
What a beautiful plant!!😊❤🪴🤗👍

Gorgeous plant
Thanks for watching!
I’ve found them really easy to propagate from back bulbs. So if/when you do repot it’s worth putting all the old bulbs together in a separate pot and seeing what happens.
Good to know - I will! Thanks for watching!
Lovely blooms 😊👍. Interesting 🌱. Love the yellow with the darker spots.
Always enjoyable and fun to find out what's behind the orchid 🌱name. 😊.

Hello Matthew, I've been watching your videos for quite a long time and this is my first time commenting. Your plant is super lovely and husky! I hope mine will be like that
I have also Promenaea-xanthina that looks almost like your. Does your change color through out its blooming time? my Xanthina goes from green to yellow then to white very vividly.
Oh how interesting! No - mine says basically the same.
Just wondering if the spelling or your pronunciation of the plant is correct. Seem it ends iana not ara according to the spelling. Not criticizing but just wondering. You have done a wonderful job with the plant and I love those blooms. So pretty!! Congratulations!!
Yes - I miss-pronounce it all the way through - heigh ho!
I wish mine looked like that, instead of the struggling pathetico thing that it is. I've tried a number of Promenaea and I just cannot get them to grow well.
Wow! Well mine gets 'low level' care! Must just like these conditions!
