Hello Diane, thanks for the video. At 6:39 about Magnévie Stress Resist, you say "you dissolve the powder in water" but it says on the box "A prendre sans eau" (= to be taken without water), and at 7:10, the icon on the side of the box shows you just need to empty the contents into your mouth, just like the Efferalgan you showed earlier in the video.
I am headed to France and spain in the spring with my daughter. We will take a trip to a pharmacy because of this video. I really like your subject matter on your channel. Thanks!
1:52. . "Bio Oil" is used *(and prescribed by Doctors)* here in Australia to minimize scarring after injury etc. So. . A real product as far as I'm concerned. I have even used it after accidentally stabbing myself just above my knee with a box-cutter knife. . Worked pretty well for me. .
As someone who gets eaten alive every summer in France I will look for the Synthol next time....sounds great. I like the look of that Arnica Roll-On too. Arnica is great for bruises but I’ve never seen such a handy way of applying it. One of the things we have to remember in France is that you can’t buy over the counter medication in the supermarket. In the UK we can buy all kinds of over the counter meds including Paracetamol and Ibuprofen.
I could use a few of those products. I have used synthol and can attest to its effectiveness. With all the rain in the US this summer, lots of mosquitoes and no see ums. Merci, Diane!
Hi, I love that you are showing some really useful products instead of the 'cult' products that everyone talks about! (not that they aren't useful...They are popular for reason, but it's refreshing to see some practical items like this) PLEASE NOTE: the Efferalgan paracétamol is not suitable for people under 50KG or children, and the MagnéVie StressResist should be taken without water (for adults only).
I love your videos Diane. I always felt a bit intimidated in French Pharmacies, like I couldn’t just browse but had to buy something. I have learned a lot from you. I have purchased the Magnevie anti stress product for someone I know who is really stressed at the moment. Will let you know if it helps! A bientot 😊
interesting... i didn't knew the word "bruises". In familiar french, we say "des bleus" like the blue color (des ecchymoses" in formal, medical french).
I remember Synthol from my young days (1940s). My dad used it as mouthwash when he had a toothache or a soar throat. We had always a bottle of Synthol at home.
I have used Arnica for years and it works well, I have recently had to stop using it since it increases blood pressure, not good if you have hypertension.
The pharmacy set up is just like the US...also we have goody powder which is similar to that cappuccino stuff. That bruise roll-on is cute...that brand sells here in Virginia haven't seen the roll-on though.
A Dianne, chaseresse, ma belle Américaine. Je vous suis très reconnaissant de vos efforts pionniers. Je suis refugié américain an préparation inadéquate de nos politiques, ici en Amérique, de fascistes en préparation volumineuse. Vos émissions me donnent bon confort.
Glad you mentioned this. I always stock p when I'm there. It is a wonderful cream to use at night, for hands or under makeup that costs only $7 per tube, and one lasts a long time. There is also one for burns. Adrian Leeds on Househunters International first mentioned it. BIAFINE.
This vid is quite funny for me, I have lived amongst the French hypocondriac's for some 15 years. on the 3 times I have got a prescription for a work injury, a visit to the pharmacy results in a big bag of drugs I will never get through.
I bruise easily because I'm on a blood thinner medicine. I use Arnica Gel on every bruise I get and it does help them go away quicker than usual. The Arnica Gel comes in a tube like toothpaste and comes in a cream base too but the gel works faster. There are various brands to buy but if you live where Arnica is not sold it can be found online.
Some pharmacies do, yes, if they have a parapharmacy section and the space. Most of the bigger ones by me have several makeup lines but usually not Revlon and Maybelline, which can be found in the supermarket.
@@OuiInFrance supermarkets. Never thought of that. Our worst experience in shopping in France was going into an Auchan. OMG what a zoo. Made Costco at Christmas look tame. Also, whoever invented Flunch should be shot.
@@OuiInFrance Standard paracetamol dosage everywhere (barring co-morbidities) is 1000mg, but in Australia at least, it's sold in 500mg tablets with instructions to take 2. Thanks for filming this, I love poking around in shops overseas!
Video titles which presume to tell people what they “don’t know” are arrogant and rude. How the hell do you know what people might know and what they might not? You don’t.
Paracetamol (Efferalgan and many othe painkillers) is the same molecule as acetaminophen.
Came here to say that.
Oh Synthol ! «Ca fait du bien là où ça fait mal »... qui se souvient encore de la pub qui passait à la télé dans les années 80-90 ?

It's cool that the medicine have braille on it.

Heading to France in May. I love European pharmacies and grocery stores. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks so much for watching! Yes, let me know how that works!

The paracetamol is popular for headache, but became more with the Covid19, as the Ibuprofen was suspected to enhance the Coronavirus desease.
Thanks. I am French and I didn't know about some of these products. Je ne passe pas beaucoup de temps en pharmacie, je dois l'avouer.
Thanks for the interesting video Diane! Fairly similar to Italian pharmacies actually!

Merci, Diane for a informative video about my favorite subject.
Glad it was helpful!

No really, parapharmacies in France are on another level. If you have the opportunité you should check out
Thank you! Great video! You’re nails are amazing, cool design.
Great vid, Diane ! Very informative ! Very good variety of products ! I would love to try them !
“Bonjour, tout le monde,” elle a dit. You are rockin’ those sunglasses! Fun video. Thanks.

Interesting video. Liked it. Love how you get right to the subject!
Looks like the ones in Canada.
Make up section in the major pharmacies stores in Canada.
Arnica products, tanning pills, ..etc exist here as well.
Stressed, tired and overwhelmed that's me 😀
Thanks again for the info and your nails look GREAT! I think I may look into the Stress Resist to help with interactions with certain people! 😉
Did you forgot to mention free sample ?
All pharmacy have A LOT of free samples.
Magnévie is my favourite product along with Doliprane(another paracetamol).
Paracetamol and Efferalgan are life saving when you have painful periods.
Just what I needed. I'm easily all lost in the pharmacy.
I love the background music, what is it?
Good to know, green cross is a pharmacy and not a pot shop.
I’m curious where you get your nails done because when I was there I never saw any salons
They exist but are less common than hair salons, which are everywhere!
That was a nice drug store. I wish we had that nice a selection around here. Good Video!
Try Biafine, really good for sunburn or 1sr,2d degree burn.

French and Germans Pharmacies the best !!!! miss them so much ! and the advice at the counter .... nothing like in the States /supermarket .....
Australia's "chemists" too
UK chemists are the same
At any time there MUST be a pharmacist in the shop, that is the law.
Tylenol is the American brand name for the generic paracetamol.
This vid is quite funny for me, I have lived amongst the French hypocondriac's for some 15 years. on the 3 times I have got a prescription for a work injury, a visit to the pharmacy results in a big bag of drugs I will never get through.
Much the same as UK chemists
This pharmacy looks like any you find in europe and the products very commonly found...
I cant see how rubbing something on a bruise would help it? I suspect its the massaging that makes it dissolve faster. BTW liking the videos.

Arnica....yes....works!
No window screens?
Yep. most European cities I've been in---and San Francisco, too.
Do they sell makeup ?

Apart from snail slime , whats unusual about the pharmacy ? Its America thats unusual
Wow....1000mg paracetamol.... Here we mostly get 500mg
Yes, it's quite a dose and the pills are the size of horse pills!
