Using Netflix, along with the fact that I still don't have a job, I have gone through four seasons in two days. Niles is my favorite. No contest. Best sitcom ever!! I like it even more than Friends!!
+Elise Quackenbush I had this growing up. One of my personal favorites is the episode where Frasier and Lilith are trying to get little Freddy in to a prestigious academy on Thanksgiving Day.
+Elise Quackenbush Oh Niles is so funny. Frasier is funny too. He's so comically arrogant lol . I always watch the reruns when they're on TV. Or on Netflix. Or any other time really.
It never fails to amaze me how great the writers are in this show. The intellectual wit cannot be compared to any other show out there and I for one applaude their efforts as they are brilliant.
Sheldon and BBT could match it a couple of seasons. He's kinda like Niles, and the writing were very scientific accurate (even the formulas on the boards in the background were real). But it went downhill very fast after s3.
Season one is the only notable season for bbt. I'm suprised it made it to 11 seasons considering it goes downhill more and more every year. Everything that made the show special is no longer there at this point.
Oh my lands that episode where he sets the couch on fire and keeps fainting at the sight of his own blood just SLAYED me the first time I saw it! Just ten straight minutes of DHP and his brilliant wordless comedy!
They should have included when he got the pot brownie from Roz and is doing his panic gasps as he walks past the cops leaving the coffee shop.. HILARIOUS 😂😂😂
Indeed, especially since the writers butchered every main Cheers character on Frasier except for Lilith, Carla, and perhaps Woody. They turned Sam into a sex-addicted moron, Diane into an annoying lunatic, Cliff into a man in psychosis with illusions of grandeur, and Rebecca as possibly being dead when "Cheerful Goodbyes" aired. It was like they were merely caricatures of their original selves.
totally.I love it far more than i ever did Cheers (all due respect to Cheers).Niles is my absolute favourite, although indeed they are all brilliant together, and is the reason i keep watching the show.I never tire of it and Niles is just sublime. The perfect match for Frasier.
David Hyde Pierce is a superb actor. His role as Niles Crane is so hilarious that even to this day, watching replays of Frasier makes me laugh out loud. Congratulations. Watching from Victoria, BC, Canada.
25 years ago my mom casually came upon DHP in a Hallmark store in our hometown in Vermont. She was so surprised all she could say was, “You’re you!” He gently cocked his head, smiled like a perfect gentleman and said, “Yes.” He was in the area celebrating a relatives college graduation. That was it. He was dressed like Niles would be for autumn; impeccably. 💖🦩
David Hyde Pierce is one of my all time favorite actors. I always saw him as primarily a comedy actor, but I got to see his dark side in "The Perfect Host." He scared the CRAP out of me- I won't spoil it. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a treat. He's very versatile in his ability to make you believe his character is not just a character. It took me a long time to see him as Niles again after that movie. hahahahaha
The Ski Lodge, The Doctor Is Out, You've Been Served, "The Club", "Corkmaster," forgot the name of the fencing episode, and the restaurant are all top 5 episodes easily. And the three clips in which he burns Frasier's couch and destroys the apartment in his 6 min silent physical comedy routine, when they are playing Pictionary and Frasier's nasty GG is choking, and BeBe and the cigarettes while she's trying to quit smoking.
Niles is so talented. I can watch this over and over again. They should have included when he had panic attack and hid under the piano. He was a genius with this character.
God these were good. Favorite ever is when the guy touches him in the cafe and he flies all over the place. He's actually a really good physical comedian.
When Niles was preparing for a date at Frasier's apartment, and brought the iron out, because his pant crease wasn't just right, it was hysterical. Only Eddie and Niles and it was the perfect combination. No matter how many times I watch that show I lose my breath from laughing so hard. When he faints from seeing the blood on his finger, it is priceless! Thank you, David!!!
"Troglodyte" LMAO!!!! The directors must have told him to just knock over as much stuff as possible when he did his physical comedy! I just love this show.
Possibly the greatest physical and comedic actor of the last 30 years. The scene with the fire extinguisher is the funniest physical scene since Lucy stomping grapes.
+TheElliefairy Well then why don't you marry him? I'm jk you can't marry him because I'd do it first! Well actually Daphne did it before either of us so I guess we're out of luck. And then before her was Maris -- thank goodness that marriage is over, am I right? lol.
That back and forth with the fencing instructor is hysterical. One of my favorite episodes. Thank god the creators of this show found Pierce and snapped him up. He's brilliant.
The only character that was different from the first drafts was Daphne. Originally she was supposed to be a Latina housekeeper but they reworked the character to fit Jane Leeves. DHP was the first person cast as the perfect brother for Frasier. I believe they were willing to drop the character of Niles if DHP had not taken the part.
I am currently watching about ten episodes of Frasier a week and have come to the conclusion that David Hyde Pierce is the star of the show. A real plus for the show is that these predicaments and antics are funnier in the context of the story - and where do you hear THAT about TV comedy nowadays?
"Eddie". I was just watching the one where Niles plans to unscrew a street sign saying "DAPHNE" and is signalling to Eddie to pretend to be urinating on the pole when someone comes past! and Eddie does so!
I don't remember that one. My Dad introduced me to Frasier, and it's been one of my favourite comedies ever since. We used to record/watch the repeats together, but since I went to uni my Dad stopped recording them because it was taking too much space. I've been home for 3 months, and we're still a year and a half behind! Oh, and the dog's real name was Moose :)
I am currently watching about ten episodes of Frasier a day and it is by far my favorite show. Niles is also by far my favorite character. The show would not be the same without him.
The brilliant writers gave Niles the better lines, IMO, which he delivered like a prince, but he was also king of the pratfalls. David Hyde Pierce is one of the most talented actors of all time. The fact that he's a singer and concert pianist are just sidebars to his multiple talents. I wonder if it's fair for one man to have so many talents!
Starts running with scissors, the second he starts, he ha’s an epiphany. “oh no, that’s not how mom has teached us” rotates scissors and shuffles towards the ironing board. It’s these small things that made the show fantastic as well.
Niles coming out of the bathroom with shave cram all over himself! "I'm gone, just a little hot and foamy." I can't watch this scene without laughing out loud! Thanks for the compilation!! Just priceless!!
I can see why you would say that, but I personally can't choose between the two. Both have their own style. In Kramer's defense, the scenes he does are impressive considering his tall stature. It takes skill to fall down the way he often does without hurting himself.
i wish someone would put on full episodes. i miss this show so much. i have never laughed so hard at anything else. intelligent, quick and sooo soooo funny!
@@johnboy7856 If my memory is correct the perfume was called "Forbidden." Niles asks, "Is that 'Forbidden?'" And Frasier responds, "In every sense of the word."

indeed; i always thought i was the only one to wipe down cafe' chairs until i watched Frasier.I love him.
Using Netflix, along with the fact that I still don't have a job, I have gone through four seasons in two days. Niles is my favorite. No contest. Best sitcom ever!! I like it even more than Friends!!
Haha same here! I love Martin and Niles
+Elise Quackenbush Wow, I could've written this comment! (Especially the jobless part.)
if that's your actual pic you should try modeling :)
It never fails to amaze me how great the writers are in this show. The intellectual wit cannot be compared to any other show out there and I for one applaude their efforts as they are brilliant.

+Einar Pers Sheldon and Niles are totally different. TBBT shouldn't even be mentioned around a show like Frasier.
Season one is the only notable season for bbt. I'm suprised it made it to 11 seasons considering it goes downhill more and more every year. Everything that made the show special is no longer there at this point.
Hopefully you have also seen and loved "Yes Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister." :)
Lessons on life and morality tales is how I describe the show

It's my mum's favourite scene in the entire show
Great comedy acting no doubt. I did feel a bit sorry for Eddy in that scene though 😄
I like how Eddie is always there when Niles has mishaps.
Because Eddie had it in for him and planned all of it!
And cant tell anyone!!

FACTS!!!
I wouldn’t have put my hand in there in the first place! Stil roar every time I see it.
Niles is one of, if not the, greatest ever sitcom character. David Hyde Pierce is absolutely wonderful.
Niles Crane, Dr Perry Cox, and Ron Swanson are my three goats of US sitcoms.
No matter how many times I watch this video,it will never get old. 😂😂😂😂
I maintain that Frasier "started" as a Cheers spinoff, but after 11 seasons I think we can all agree it was it's own thing. Great show.
Indeed, especially since the writers butchered every main Cheers character on Frasier except for Lilith, Carla, and perhaps Woody.

David Hyde Pierce is a superb actor. His role as Niles Crane is so hilarious that even to this day, watching replays of Frasier makes me laugh out loud. Congratulations. Watching from Victoria, BC, Canada.
These moments are very funny, but very slapstick! Some of Niles' best moments are his hilariously sharp banter!
Multazimah Agreed, but watching this, it's occurred to me that I never appreciated what a superb physical comedian David Hyde-Pierce was.
+HackneyShark Me too. This compilation makes you realize it. I think hands down Niles Crane is my favorite T.V. Character of all time.
+HackneyShark Oh I know right? He's like the next Jim Carey or something lol. I wonder how many takes he went through to get those gags just right.
+Aaron McAvinue I would say he's similar to Jim Carey, not the next Jim Carey, since their careers both started roughly at the same time.

i love Niles so much; he alone is the reason i will continue to watch Frasier until i die!
Niles really was an incredible character with his falls, etc.. Funniest person on that show I always thought. Brilliant writing all around.
"counter suit!" lol my favorite episode
One of my favorite scenes for sure. When he does the full spin around and takes out the coat rack and then slams down on the table. LOL.
What's the name of the episode?
Anabelle Edwards High Crane Drifter from Season 3
That guy in the coffee shop resembles Henry Winkler.

Niles is so talented. I can watch this over and over again. They should have included when he had panic attack and hid under the piano. He was a genius with this character.
David Hyde Pierce was excellent on Frasier, Niles really was a great character, Smart witty Sitcom Frasier was
