I found nuts and brown bread, along with yellow stone fruits like apricot and peach. I agree with you that it needs just a little bit more oomph to it, but in such a pretty bottle I definitely wouldn't turn it down!
A very interesting conifer hint on the nose...like Adam suggested, somewhat juniper like, but something even more. On the first taste I was reminded of a sake that somehow has oddly soured. Interesting experience though. Quite unique.
You're right, I've never even heard of this distillery before. Glad to know it! It smells like eggnog (that's the season saying its piece). It doesn't not taste like eggnog, it has some creaminess to it. That might be the barley? Tastes with a hint of rum.
I believe I have had some Filliers Gin or Jenever. I had a few years where I tried a lot of gins. But I had no idea they made whisky. I'm not sure I've ever had a Belgian whisky. This was fun.

Never heard of Filliers or any Belgian whisky before so this was very fun to try! And it is a good whisky even if it’s not mind-blowing
Adam, I agree with every comment you made. This was still fun to try as I can now say I’ve tried a Belgian whisky!
