My 2 cents on this year's crop of new drivers... I've worked in general manufacturing since the early 90's and there is no doubt that the the Ping G440 is a lovely looking club... but this massive push to "carbon everything" by Callaway, Taylormade, Cobra and Ping is little more than a cost cutting measure. Fully titanium driver heads are expensive to make and last a LONG time (less profitable for the manufacture in the short term and the long term). Carbon is cheaper to produce in quantity and less durable when compared to titanium (planned obsolescence). The marketing pitch about "being lighter" is not a selling point for me. I want a club that is going to last for YEARS, not two or three seasons. I play 80+ rounds a year and hit at least 5 buckets a week. When it comes to durability, reliability & long term value a driver that is fabricated with carbon panels attached by glue is not comparable to fully welded titanium head. I will not buy these products.
1cm squared block of titanium is heavier than a 1cm squared block of carbon fibre. So it makes sense to put the heavier material at the bottom of the clubhead to shift the centre of gravity. Durability and strength of carbon fibre depends on the direction of the fibres, which any engineer will already know. But there is an argument for using carbon fibre in faces where repeated hits can compromise the integrity of it. Hence why I never bought a TaylorMade onwards of the Stealth. Nothing wrong with it being used to redistribute weight where it's needed.
Senior golfer here. I went from 220-230 yds with my G430 to a consistent 250 yds and up with the 10k. Going to take something very special to make me change from the 10k.
I agree. Went to the G430 max 10K from my Taylormade Stealth. Gained 30yds and much better consistency. Unfortunately, cracked my driver head recently. Ping replaced it with no issues.

I just got sent the G440 LST coming from a damaged G430 LST. Hit it today and the G440 LST seems a bit lighter in the head weight when swinging but has a powerful ball flight compared to the 430 LST. I was able to hit draws and fades with the fades being more of a straighter flight from the previous year. Sound wasn’t much different both sound great in my opinion
