Well it looks like were connected as family as some of my family married into your family. I'm a direct descendent of Thomas David Harp that lead a wagon train that traveled close to Baker-Fancher train. In a book titled Mountain Meadow Massacre by 3 Mormon authors they listed a Poteet family that joined them traveling the California trail north of the Great Salt Lake. The list said the Poteet family settled in L.A. then went to Texas which Dr. McPherson said backing his story. If you want I can send you the link to all my information if you desire.
That’s a great question. It was some agreed upon sign to leave that wagon train alone. There are certainly more questions to be asked and answered. I wonder why the Poteet’s cousins did not also leave.
Magnificent family story! The real nitty gritty of life during a tough period of our
nation’s history. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I thought it was also worth pausing to hear.
Glad you enjoyed it
