There is definitely a reason that Yamaha hasn't upgraded this bike and or engine. It absolutely rips and leans over great on twisty roads. Its a beautiful motorcycle since they did the remodel of it. I would recommend this bike to anyone looking to get into motorcycling at a low cost. I would not say this bike is "cheap" by any means because nothing is cheated on this bike except for the stock blinkers. I would say "price efficient." But there is fun to be had with getting hands on with your bike and easily changing the blinkers to say TST Halo blinkers. I've owned the 2022 Blue model for 2 years now and It has been a pure joy and adventure every time I go out.

I’m getting one next year. I was gonna be an idiot and start on a 1000 or 600, but I’m putting my ego aside to get something that makes sense for beginners.

This is a fantastic choice! Worst case is you outgrow it soon. It's a Yamaha so it retains its value like crazy as long as you don't drop it a bunch of times lol

I have an R3 and I love it. I agree the pads aren’t that great. I’m 6’1 and 180lbs so I’m lighter and still feel that they are decent at lower speeds but if you’re coming in hot and need to get some stopping power down then it can be quite sketchy…

@@lewishardiman7628 absolutely agree!! How does the bike feel being 6 foot. Does it feel a little small?

@@ProjectRad yeah it feels small but it’s not uncomfortable. I daily ride it fine. It feels slightly smaller than the Zx4rr but bigger than a ninja 300 and the KTM Rc390.

@@ProjectRad I even feel like the R3 is a little small being 5'10". However, I agree that its not uncomfortable. Better than being fully leaned and extended on say an R7.
