@@doodlereview I like all these albums except for Come On You Know. Chasing Yesterday is my personal favourite. I can see why you didn't like WBTM, I wasn't a huge fan initially, but I saw Noel live on that tour and it was great. I actually like Noels EPs a lot more than WBTM. I highly recommend his This Is The Place EP.
This is the Place definitely is the best of those 3 EP’s for sure! I agree, he’s never disappointed in a live setting, and those songs sounded better on the road
If you have any of Liam’s album ahead of Noel’s, you can’t be taken seriously. Liam, while a great live performer in terms of energy and sheer crowd size, there’s just no way their in the same class of song writing and arrangements.
I hear you; I think it comes down to how strongly you believe that artists have to write their own material to have credibility. Arguably if the project wasn’t called “Liam Gallagher” and had a band name, we wouldn’t judge it as harshly because multiple people wrote the songs. I definitely give Noel way more credit for being a fantastic writer and performer- but ultimately I think good music is good music, and Liam has some good stuff in his catalog. Not epic, but pretty damn enjoyable. Just my 2 cents, thanks for watching!!
@@doodlereview That’s fair. I think the biggest mistake we and others make is comparing the two at all. They weren’t John and Paul. Both were prolific writers together and I’m their solo career. Liam and Noel played two totally different roles in Oasis. Had they both shared songwriting duties in Oasis, then I’d say a comparison of their solo careers would be warranted. Liam wrote, what, 7-10 songs in Oasis? For the record, I’ve All I Need is a great song by Liam. It’s the one tune of his I always sing to.
If I Had a Gun… is timeless. I weirdly think the title has prevented it being as well acknowledged as the Oasis greats. People see it and think it’s a rocker, when it’s one of his most tender ballads
If Beady Eye is included I'd put BE as probably the best thing either has done post Oasis. It's definitely the coolest sounding, with the Dave Sitek production. Best album cover of the lot- C'mon You Know
Enjoyed the video, wouldn't massively disagree - would say Liam's second album is great and worth a higher place in my opinion and agree that Noel's third is my least favourite. Noel's first and fourth are masterpieces, Liam's third is a nice mix of anthems and deeper score.
Agree with most of this, Why Me, Why Not is very lazy at times. Some good songs on it though. I really like Glimmer and Alright Now. I’d put it D. I’d also rank Council Skies as S tied for me personally. Dead to the World is a masterpiece. Not Giving Up Tonight is also so underrated. Can’t help but wish some of Liams vocals were on some of Noel’s songs. Noel’s solo songs are so much better than Liams but you Liams voice is just iconic.
Agree, I think it would be awesome to have them back at it. Noel has lost a bit of edge, and Liam always needs great songs to really fly. One day perhaps
I think Who built the moon has some really great tracks. Include dead in the water, plus she taught me how to fly, If love is the law, Holy mountain, I don’t get why these get hate
You can’t count bonus tracks! 🤪 in seriousness though, I’ve no doubt the songwriting is up to most of Noel’s stuff, but I just can’t get into that production at all. Fair play to him for doing something different though, I don’t think Council Skies would have been as good if not for this one. Cheers for watching …
Chasing yesterday is s tier if you include oasis albums too imo it's bangers from start to finish And I do think noels worst album is either who built the moon or his debut and his debut is still absolutely incredible
Very good young sir! I would take your number one down and replace it with Liam's As you Were, as I think there's the two songs that really matter on there. Paper Crown and the other can't remember >.< good video.
Way off the mark on Who Built The Moon and the disco EPs. Noel needs to dive further into those interesting soundscapes. I liked the new record a lot but I wish he honed in the Electronica. Blue Moon Rising was incredible
I think I like the idea of it more than the end product, i feel like he’s kind of pursuing the dream of fusing sounds in the way belearic house artists were back in the day but to me anyway it doesn’t work - at least on what we got from the Moon era. That’s just me though - glad it has its fans!
Who built the moon is not that bad but it has literally no dynamics speaking mixing and mastering wise. It's a brick of sound that was good for Oasis but not for that sound
I always asked myself what a knobhead you have to be to like "Be Here Now". Now I know how it feels, "Who built the Moon?" is my absolute favorite post-Oasis Gallagher record 😂
My ranking (including Beady Eye) Who Built the Moon? (2017) Different Gear, Still Speeding (2011) Why Me? Why Not. (2019) Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (2011) C'mon You Know (2022) Council Skies (2023) As You Were (2017) Chasing Yesterday (2015) BE (2013)
Liam has hardly done one single good song. On top of that, his are just karaoke songs. Him singing other peoples words. And even then they are shite. So no competition. Yes Noel’s are shite Iv ran out of talent music. But it is at least ‘his’ music.
@@doodlereview it’s dreadful. John is utterly utterly dull. Why be on stage if you are going to give so little to those that paid for you to be there. The two of them have zero chemistry. Amazing to see that it is actually Liam having to try for that due to the lack of it from John. And he’s only trying because he feels John is the only person who can write songs for him and it comes across as a genuin band, like oasis. The songs are poor. The on stage chemistry is worse than poor. And John needs to go and have a think about his attitude in interviews and on stage. Then there’s tbe utterly sad dress sense. Grow past tbe age of 17-19 lads. Come on I’m embarrassed for you.

@@doodlereview more so on the earlier studio stuff, I’d say. Bear in mind I have pretty exceptional ears and can hear guitars that are of tune that guitarists (and sometimes tuners) can’t hear. I’m an audio engineer by trade and life long musician. I tune vocals for a living so I can hear stuff that a casual listener isn’t going to perceive, I can sometimes hear what tuning software they’ve used and in this case it’s actually AutoTune when actually, a lot of stuff is corrected using Melodyne. I’m not saying I’m better than anyone or that my opinion is any more relevant than anyone else’s, but it’s my perception and I thought I’d share it. Aesthetics and production choices matter, otherwise we’d all just use the closest cheap studio and get some engineer to edit and tune the soul out of everything and put it out for the kids to enjoy on TikTok. I’ve seen some live performances recently and I honestly think Noel is sounding as strong as he ever has vocally, which is what irks me about the lazy use of tuning in the studio. He doesn’t need it. It’s probably a combination of the engineer going a bit too far and the insecurity of anyone else wanting to pull back on it. I don’t think Noel is super confident about his vocal abilities, which is far from uncommon. Great video btw.
Naahhhhh man, council skies is ass. I was listening to it a shit ton in preparation to see Noel live. He soured his set list heavily by playing half of that boring album. Cmon you know definitely should be higher too

Liam's solo albums way better than Noels.
While I don’t agree I do think his solo work is underrated. Thanks for watching 🤘

That is literally the worst album out.of any of these
I’ve always been interested to try it out because of the Dave Sitek production - just can’t imagine that combo!
BE is easily the worst album ever out of any Gallagher release!
Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds
Chasing Yesterday
As You Were
Council Skies
Why Me? Why Not?
Who Built The Moon
Cmon You Know
Not too far off mine! Lots o’ people hating on Cmon Y’know! Maybe I was just in a good mood when I heard it 😂

Whisper it: Oasis appealed to people who didn't actually like music. They're the Simply Red of British indie rock.
