Pendlebury said afterward that he wasn’t surprised as knew Sidebottom could kick it that far as he has enough power but that Steele uses chip kicks during matches instead.
@@bellabana Yeah but it's still an amazing goal for a 34 year old to kick particularly in the given situation. I'd say it's a slightly worse and less iconic version of sheeds goal

How can channel 7, the host broadcaster and the ones that pay the big bucks have the worst commentary of the bunch. And unfortunately that's the commentary that will be replayed forever
The main reason I uploaded this, just to show people how much better the commentary was on the radio than on the actual TV.
7 is football for people who don't like football
I think this was a bad bit of commentary and 7 is bad in general but keep in mind tv commentators are told to let the vision speak for itself and have less of a story telling duty.
Because Channel 7's commentary team know most of the public are watching their broadcast, they spend half the time about their egos.
The same problem occurs with a commentator for the last World Cup soccer for SBS. He has a sponge memory and for most of the first half of games, recounts past events and incidents as if the game had not commenced. I particularly remember where Australia were making a strong run at goal, with the commentator still bantering about something that happened in the past. The shot on goal was made, and he had to interrupt himself and return to the moment.

SEN and 3AW are my favourites, what excellent calls. Be great to listen to the whole game from those broadcasts while watching.

Why did Berry do that?
Brisbane are down 4 points and its a slow play with Sidebottom marking on the defensive side of wing, even if the 50 isnt paid you're just helping Sidebottom and Collingwood waste time.
Its the sort of thing you would do if your team was leading by a kick not losing

While I can take or leave "wowee", sometimes letting the roar of the crowd tell the story is the best choice.
