Grim Dawn Hardcore Class Selection New Character Help
Tips Guide for Grim Dawn Gameplay playthrough
This is an outdated video, new and a better one here: ruclips.net/video/Le7MvInLPFg/видео.html
Outlander from torchlight 2 type class = Demolitionist + Occulist and only thing you will take in occulist is summon famillar tree of skills. Your famillar is the tank while you either dual wield pistol or rifle or crossbow
Solael's Witchfire too.
How do you dual wield pistol Demolitionist + Occulist i don't see any passive skill on non of them
I just found this game through steam sale really thinking about getting it. Your video was very helpful friend :). Thank you so much.
Thanks for this! I was getting tired of looking for a good explanation of how to choose my classes!
This game is so great in so many aspects. I remember to start playing among the best ARPGs ever made: Diablo 2, Dungeon Siege, Sacred and Titan Quest, only Titan Quest has survived today in this game, the other 3 great sagas destroyed to fit the casual market...
need an update for 2019
I dont know why but after watching your video I am even more confused than before ;(
Do you have a video guide for your last build in this video? That looks like something I would enjoy playing. Thanks
Had a really tough time trying to understand you, especially at 2:45-2:46, "Would you like to do ??? damage? Occulist is like the only choice you have."
He said for chaos damage Occulist is the only choice you have
I would like to play a ranged sorceress casting spell's :D but seems most sorceress builds says guns are good!
I’ve noticed that nightblade seems to be the rouge class on steroids with also a few elements from warfare, i’m of course talking about titan quest, anyway I’m loving the night blade class.
Learned lots from this - thanks
Is there a way to know in-game what a monster's stats and damage type and resistances are?
Hey thanks for your comment, you can check out www.grimtools.com for monster database for information about them
Thanks Malagant
I was playing Sacred 2 before I got Grim Dawn and in that game the monster tool tip includes some basic info as to what kind of damage and defense a monster has which allows you to adjust your character to the monsters in an area; fun and useful gameplay feedback.
So far I am liking Grim Dawn
I put 150 hours into this game. About the 100 hour mark I figured out that the "all damage" gear I was seeking out and equipping wasn't working at all with my retribution build because, well, it didn't improve "all damage" as stated. Also, I found out that armor ONLY mitigated physical damage. I still hadn't wrapped my head around the whole "Acid/poison" mechanic either. Found out that "internal trauma" was physical damage's "DOT" and armor rating, while mitigating physical damage didn't mitigate "internal trauma" for that you'd need "physical damage resistance" (Which is what I thought Armor was for?!?). So ok, I need physical damage resistance. Now in real life you put acid on something, you recieve damage over time. I thought Acid was a DOT. Nope, Poison is ACID's DOT. Pierce causes bleeding right? NOPE. Bleeding is its own thang. You'll need a resist for that too. Then there's Atherial damage, and Chaos damage? I mean HOW MANY FUCKING DAMAGE TYPES ARE YOU GOING TO PUT IN A GAME? Anyways, I guess what I'm saying is this games damage types are ridiculous. "Internal trauma damage" I mean come on. Like 10 or more damage types and almost as many "sub" damage types? Did the 9 developers have a brainstorming session and decide to work in everyone's crazy idea so as to not to hurt anyone's feelings? Complexity is welcome in game, but a game should also be intuitive. This game it just seems to be complicated for the sake of being complicated. And on a final note the boss fights SUCKED. Within seconds I'd figure out I was going to win the fight, but it would just take a ridiculoous amount of time to wittle down the bosses health pool. And to anyone who says I should have referenced the internet to learn about the game before investing that much time... I didn't have to for Titan Quest (and enjoyed that game very much). And while path of exile demands at some point you research the internet to grasp some concepts, you're not left scratchign your head like this game left me.
I didn't pick a class, it's a lot more challenging. Currently at the end of elite at lvl 83.
Like that monk in WoW that refused to pick a faction. Doubleagent I think he was called.
level 45 Arcanist.. still confuse choosing the right weapons
henry Tluanga are you still confused one year later?
Best Occultist based dual-class??
A bit late to the party but which classes should l chose if l want to play as a mage with guns? l started with conjurer and for my second class l want arcanist but l don't know if this will get me the character l want.
Could you tell me which items and skills are you using in the last build (battlemage)?
I want to make basically a Dark Knight. Big melee guy with a scythe, doing life syphon and enfeebling / debuffing. Is that possible in this game? (More towards the offensive side).
shaman/occultist orobably
install dail mod and play the terror knight
what he said
ReapZ Askme no need. you can achieve what you want on vanilla. SoT final boss drops your mentioned weapon
You can now with the expansion: new necromancer class plus soldier = deathknight!
I want a Ranged AoE pet build should I do a weird combo of Demo/Occultist?
So no bows in the game?
1. I would like to be unkilable
2. I want to deal best type of damage
3. I want to have gear for it and not have to farm for months.
What should I play? Diablo 3 you say? Ok. :)
"not have to farm for months" oh man, you really haven't played D3, have you? That game is the biggest and most repetitive grind to get your gear
you havent played that game in a long time. You get all the gear within a week or so. Then you level up your gems and min max your already existing gear with a 1-2% better pieces. I have over 4000 hours logged into D3, every season paragon 700+ ...quit every season after a month into it...
PS. My original post was a joke btw....
I understand the joke, but need to add that the comparison is only thinking in "sagas" because Diablo 3 is not ARPG anymore, you have no stats, no skill tree, the only enhancement is on gear as any other adventure game... I got bored before the Auction House was closed and never returned for good.
700 para is nothing LMAO..... You cant say diablo 3 is a bad game with an average of 700 paragon every season try like 1500 paragon then get back at me bud. Anyways Diablo 3 is def easier then most ARPGS but it still has a competitive end game with greater rift climbing. I dont see why people see the need to bash other games to make there game feel better. Grim dawn / PoE are both awesome games but so is diablo 3.
Thats nothing. I have 5 billion paragon in Orly's Draw a Story.
Is there like a melee and range combo class?
Captain Harlock hey been a while I checked GD, waiting for their expansion in 2017 but, check out spellbreaker was the most fun I had as melee/range. its nightblade&arcanist combo!
Malagant Thanks I will! Now
I don't know weather or not I should wait for the DLC...
Captain Harlock just jump in to it right away there is sooo much to consume in Grim Dawn if you havent tried it before and you liek Arpg games
Malagant Actually don't have much experience with this genre, played a little diablo 2 back in the day, played a little bit of Titan Quest. However nothing in this genre popped out at me until this game, most for the controller support for PC. I love to be able to use my controller, makes it more immersive. I think I will jump into this game :)
hello, friend is wanting to me to get grim dawn to play it with them and I most likely will, was with diablo since it first released with the very first diablo so grim dawn looks intriguing but not exactly sure what I wanted to play as but as soon as I saw ur video I def know I want to be caster cuz ive always enjoyed caster and saw the last part of ur vid based on pure caster which looks neat and wouldn't mind giving it a try. not sure if it would be possible to give me some more insight on that build via personal msg or what not but would def like to try it, not really sure how the game works or don't know much about it tbh so would be a good starting point for me if I wanted a caster, thxs ^.^
Rebecca Coldsteel hello, unfortunately I lost my okd saves so the character is gone for but my favorite caster build was using arcanist with pinetti missile and devastation. Second class selection is up to you ;) Thanks for comment and hope it helps.
ok thxs, ya it helps. ive actually been looking at the skill icons u use to maybe know what skills u used and just guessing what passives look like they would be beneficial, thxs for ur reply though ^.^
? Can you create captions for this please
This is a very outdated video, apologies!
Check this one out if you would like, I am sure it is a lot more informative.

Need forgotten god update
What's the class closest to swordsman/samurai?
Swordsman check out the skills of both soldier and nightblade, go with the one that you like mate. 2nd class choice check inquisitor really cool buffs :) Thanks for comment!
can u screw up builds? i really want to get in this game but i'm afraid that my build will become bad later down the course and i'd have to restart again :/
DrTheDarkNight hey, you should totally try out GD it is amazing, and thanks for your comment. Its been a while but if I remember correctly you can swtich your spec around in GD pretty much whenever from the starting town. it just gets more and more expensive each time. also you can not change your stats or the class combination you picked. so when selecting your class or distributing your stats becareful! Now that I think about it, this topic could have been a good small informative vid by itself.. should ve thought about it :)
RNG can screw you. I play solders and nightblades and all the gear I get (that matters) is for shamans and wizards and whatnot...Finally, game decided that it wants me to play anything that will use elemental damage weapons because f*uck me and my wish to play physical/bleed/leech builds. fml
opposite for me. I'm playing a vitality/chaos build and most stuff I get is bleed and poison.
i couldnt do anythinf with bleed and poison either. I need physical.
this guy is crying in every movie, amazing
to much blabla
yea to much bla bla .He's saying it like for super dumb, slow brained ppl. Half of video is about how important is to chose right class rather then explaying the calsses .
So much babbling... try doing something else son.
Soooo... you are telling me the way to choose the right class is to see what the classes do and then look how this alighns with my playstyle ? So if I want to play say a summoner I would look for summoning abilities ? I would never have guessed that! ...
So pretty much you wasted 9 minutes talking for something that is said in 7 seconds tops...
Good video enjoyed the hot air.
saying "intelligent men" is patronising and puts me off
