I'm brand new and this is still too advanced for me
Diablo clones these days are too complicated, for example POE, Grim Dawn have rly hard end game, you can't play glass cannon, that's the reason why i don't play GD..
@Kay mrs That's what new means, moron
@@wolker213 The end game is no fun if you can just steam roll it with a pure dps class
@@michaelli2407 No, you will be one shotted without good resistances to all over9000 of them...
For those who are starting now, without any character and have the expansion Forgotten Gods, I strongly recommend Physical Warlord. Warder and Tactician are another good options. Those builds are very strong, even in the lack of equipment and Physical Warlord lategame with Octavius set are a Crucible Devourer. For those who don't know, Crucible is a dlc, the final challenge of the game, the hardest, also the most rewardful, if you build can beat it, you can asure than is strong. Unfortunately, not all build can get this high, but many players had make good jobs and breaking the "meta". I hope I could help a bit with this commentary. GD is life.
Thanks for the vid. Plan on starting up the DLC for first time, haven't played since launch of base. Shieldbreaker looks solid.
Choosing the right class: let me talk about how I both dislike my previous video and like my previos video, and about how I rambled in my previous video by rambling in this video. Then taking a video clearly designed for people who havent played this game before and just throwing out concepts that are both relievent and not relievent...
A tip: Create a script and read from it. I know its not as much fun, but I imagine you would cut out a whole bunch of the negitive if you did. Or even just bullet points that kept you on track.
Heh, I agree. It's 3+ minutes into the video, and he still hasn't actually answered the question or talked about what he promised to talk about yet. He's talking about a video I never actually saw.
Agreed, he rambled on so much a didnt actually show what he needed to show. Why would a new acharacter build around a set bonus they dont know exists.
Thank you for the content!
Great to see more GD content even though you're playing PoE now bro
This was useful for me. I have not progressed very far at all in the game. I like the style of the occultist, so I am trying to decide what to pair with it.
Hey. I picked ritualist as my 1st character. As well vitally caster. Going for dark one set as well. This is my goal. I think having a goal in game is really important. Btw whatdo you think the difference between cabalist and ritualist? Which is stronger, better?
The thing that gets me as a 'new' player (I've actually coasted on a few builds from other people to a reasonably high level; 70+), is that the individual skills all have like 4+ modifiers. Understanding how that all ties together is just very tricky. I am now finding myself leveling two new characters, and not being able to decide which second class to pick for them, because of analysis paralysis. This game is fun, but the skill trees are way less intuitive than they could be.
I'm just starting out. I've tried several basic characters and so far I like the Occultist best. I maxed out the Hellhound and just let it take care of business will I fire pot shots at stragglers. I think I might add necromancer to it and have a small army fight for me.
The link to you most favorite build is incomplete. I would really appreciate viewing it.
Im so lost , im starting again from the beginning, not sure what to make , start as or class combinations are better that others? im lost its a big game
Thank you very much! Also, can you make a starter build video for 1hand/2hands range weapons guide too ? As a total n00b into GD, et would be greatly appreciated !
Lastly can you suggest a few weapons for an aether DK ?
Theodin's (last boss of Malmoth) MI isn't a bad starter.
@@Malagant Thanks a lot!
Liked before watching ;)
I appreciate the intention of the video but the continuous flood of information was still too advanced and in such a continuous stream that it is hard to swallow as first time player.
Luckily we are also not all as rude as others.
Yeah, I feel like this isn’t a good video for new players.
someone know where or how to get gargan key to the altar?
Another tip for noobies: youll probably see people claiming their build can clear SR (shattered realm) 75+ on ult when you probably wont be able to even get close. Theres no shame in doing it on elite. I farmed a majority of my legendaries since FG doing 75-76 in elite bc its way easier for my weaker favorite build. Its almost equivalent to SR ~45 in ultimate.
Ritualist: Everything is vitality damage? I'd like to compliment that with will of rattosh ( -vit res % ). And then go into shaman for 1 point wendigo totem 12 into blood totem(vit damage). couple of points into devouring swarm (-blood / -vit res) and have multiple pets empowered with oak skin + heart of the wild. Why heart of the wild? Because it empowers regen. Call of the grave also gives pretty neat regen. So I want to increase that with eachother.
Then abit of poison damage through the fiend because master of death increases that too. And Scorpion sting is needed anyway for the green orbs to get will of rattosh.
Only issue I have right now is agro. These pets literaly just don't do shit.
The answer is actually really simple. Classes with auras that allow you to gouge offensive ability early paired with good strong room clearing potential makes for easy leveling that can be translated to endgame. Soldier, Necro, Demo, Occult are easy, Arcanist, Nightblade, Shaman, inquisitor are gear dependent and level slow.
Please I am new I want a tanky build but Idk what to do all guides look complicated. I know I have to go soldier/something else to be tanky
I'm trying to build an Eye of Reckoning Oathkeeper. No clue what second class to pick, so far I'm around level 30 with solo Oathkeeper going on. I really cannot decide, I have no clue what works best with this skill.
Hmmm,i went with Nightblade but you can go with Soldier also, either of those two :D
Arcanist.
I like the solid inquisitor with a dash of necromancer.
I usually like bruiser type characters. Any recommendations for a brand new player?
death knight (soldier plus necromancer) is both tanky and does pretty good damage
So Death Knight is a great build for new players for their first character ?
does the beronath sword drop specifically from someone or do i just have to keep grinding?
Grind that bitch out. Alternatively, the non mythical version can be crafted via blueprint, which can be gotten from the vendor in ancient grove, although the blueprint isn't guaranteed to be in his shop, you you will have to grind that too. Best of luck.
It can drop, and, if you are lucky, you can drop the blueprint. On the forum you will find the Discord chat trading channel. There are many players with the stash full just waiting a trade there.
I just start playing, is Necro/Occultist good? I'm feeling that I have missing something. Haaayy.. Can anyone help me as a first timer what is the best first character should I play?
I want a fast-kill, fast movement (also with skill)... So I could farm for my next character and next character etc... What should I do
im from poe and got GB instaled 2 days ago and looking for a build ... all builds i see are like " auto attacks base builds " idk :/ is ther a site or something wher i can see all builds
search for grim dawn compendium
Thunderous Strike Shaman w/ Ranged Weapon = Fun, Fast and Easy to itemize from level 1. Melts entire screens of enemies. Has complementary skills w/ Storm Totems and Wind Devils. It's as good at clearing but safer than my Spin-to-win Oathbreaker. Would recomend as first HC char.
Shaman is awesome, it works well with many builds. Vindicator and Druid are good combinations for him.
Vitality Conjurer is pretty brutal too
is this still relevant to 06/07/2020?
What was your first character in Grim Dawn ?
It was a DW Fire Saboteur which i am still tweaking to get stronger as it is not so strong in the first place^^
Cabalist
Iam new to GD and i started with a Soldier in HC, now into a Warlord. www.grimtools.com/calc/a2E15gn2
I reached lvl62, but iam still in Normal/Veteran, because everything is new and i dont wanne die.
I played Barbs for Years in Diablo 2 Classic Hardcore, so the Soldier was solid pick for my first Charakter, looked pretty tanky and save.
Can you maybe explain to me why the Jackal and Bards Harps were taken in the Devotion Section?
Devotions are still my biggest problem (but i love the concet overall) so i take every input.
Thanks for the great Content, it was part of why i felt in love with GD.
Lightning Warder, although I've recently been following your Cabalist series.
BWC Canister Bomb Sorceress
Thank you for this! i was just stressing these days on what build to go to have a similar build to the "Brigand" from Titan Quest. I am basically looking for a ranged strong DPS, preferably a rifle or a crossbow. The choices are many as I've read plenty of concepts for this build and watched many videos, but so far I can not decide. Any tips? Or perhaps make a video regarding a similar idea?
Purifier with duel wield pistols would be my go to for ranged dps.
@@garenofdemacia9370 this would be my inclination as well so far. I was wondering if it is worth going rifle + searing might though.
played different class combos couldn't pass 40 without getting wrecked,
I'm also new man, then I just play Grim Dawn and not the forgotten gods. So I think there are a lot of difference. So confusing. 😭
thx for video mate. also would You have idea for first hc char ? most easy to beat lvl 100 without rip ;d
I recommend Warlord for you, if you like warrior like characters. I have one full equiped with Octavius set, and seriously, the best Crucible farmer I saw. Damage is consistent and is almost unkillable.
@@renandutra7564 thx for answer. will he work without crucible spaming? i like to drop everything from story mode
@@kubixon28 Probably the best HC starter is the DK though. As Mala explained in the video, you can get your end-game set, weapon and shield in elite AoM, it's tanky and does well in ultimate
What addons are you using?
I am only using Grim Internals
I have better starting build. 2handed long ranged Riflist demolition Soldier is a great starter build cause you can always get Devil's musket at Devil's crossing you jut need to max devil's crossing reputation www.grimtools.com/calc/p25JRXyV and also Ulzuin set or Flame keeper set is easy to farm just kill bosses and heroes left side of devil's crossing
how do i patch the game offline
Making arcanist and shaman 😅😅
Man there was some much rambling
I'm glad someone said something.
No one like hearing about the EX, especially one they never seen
les twins
9 minutes in and still not telling me anything about classes
Ummmm. What? Was looking for advice on choosing a class. Not an in depth end game gear guide. 90% of this was about gear and sets. and nothing about classes and skills and playstyles. Most definitely not a place for beginners. Just like the rest. bout to give up on the game entirely. Not even many forums talking about beginning.
Ok this is obviously not for Veterans.
get to the point bro
I hate cadence
This is supposed to be for newer players? You must rename the tittle then, because the 99% of new players will get more confused by this than before they started the game, this is an advanced guide not a begginner, sorry mate, thumbs down
THATS A LOT OF SHIT TALK OMG
