Actually I was specifically talking about the Wild Magic Surge Table of 07-08 roll of casting Fireball on yourself as a 3rd level spell. I believe that you can use Careful spell on the outcome of the Wild Magic Surge since its wording is that you cast Fireball normally and therefore Careful spell Metamagic should apply. @@jcbuckley7095 Oh ok that isn't in my PHB, but I searched it up and you are correct that the official errata states that Wild magic is too untamed and cannot be affected by Metamagic. I was going off of the fact that by RAW it uses the word " when you cast " and so I believed that the outcome of Wild Magic Surges can be affected if it contains those words such as "You cast fireball" Thank you for the clarification.

I have done 2 different wild magic sorcerer one is a taboxi that was once a cat familar to a powerful wizard. When the bond was cut a contingent spell transformed him into a taboxi. The other is really odd but interesting. A mountain dwarf soilder that is hiding he is part dark dwarf and has their magic in his blood. I gave him the odd stat block of 16 14 12 8 8 and 16. He uses a lot of booming blade on his are and twinning it when you can
Yea I watched the Chaotic TV series when I was a kid and I remembered his design and thought it would make sense for Wild Magic. Thanks for the comment!
I dont like how much control the DM has over this class, it means boring DMs can just basically never use any of 8ts features and it ends up bwing boring a weak. I think you should have to roll a d20 on every 1st level and above spell and that tides of chaos should always activate on the next spell you cast
I thought you could only use metamaguc when you cast a spell and I don't think you can use carefully spell when you wild magic surge cause you to fireball yourself. These sorcerer should be very aware of their position.
