This guys is the most zero bullshit RUclipsr I've ever watched. He's so modest yet honest in absolutely everything he says. He always backs up what he has to say in his reviews. This review helped me out substantially and as a person who is on the hunt for a smartwatch I am definitely getting the series 3 despite some of the cons. Hands down awesome review and awesome guy.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy!
I was thinking the same thing throughout the entire video
Thank you, and after 3-months of testing it out I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I've made. The Apple watch is slightly more accurate than the Fenix 5 and to me the only bad thing about it is when it's telling me to stand up but even so that only happens every so often. If people do the proper research they'll see it's actually cheaper than a lot of the "high-end" smartwatches out there. On a side note, as an actual owner of the Apple watch I am amazed by how it doesn't stain or get scratched and I'm a guy who wears it daily to work, the gym (except sauna) and to even sleep. I'm in the military so my watch has bumped into everything and it's intact.
Glad you’re enjoying it and thanks so much for the compliment as well as your follow-up! Much appreciated!
Heart rate is on point ... ALWAYS! I recently had a heart attack, which is the reason why I bought this watch. Heart rate was exactly or one point off compared to their machines that I used, even now at the gym when I finished my 12 week cardiac rehab program. I definitely recommend this watch
Eva PM I recently went to an echo cardiogram and a stress test and the accuracy on the apple watch was impressive on both test. I checked the machine data live and compared my heart through the heart app. Just 1 point difference sometimes, very rarely there were two points difference.

This is the best fitness review for the Apple Watch I've seen.
Thanks!
Amazing video , great Job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Totally agreed on the heart rate accuracy. Did a few HITT workouts this week around 60mins each and it was spot on and more consistent. Even compared to my chest strap and Fitbit. The amazing part is the fact my Fitbit Charge 2 lost my heart rate a few times like usual meanwhile Apple Watch didn’t, even with sweat.
Best part is I didn’t need to fix it on my wrist at any part like I do my Fitbit to get a good reading during a workout. Kudos to Apple for the improvements. 👍👍⌚️
I love all the colours on the Apple Watch fitness
Very solid video. Clear audio, easy to follow, and gets to the point with no BS. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
Love this review. Very comprehensive and what I was looking for 👌
Glad it helped!
Perfect video man! Covered everything I wanted to know.
Glad it helped!
This video actually convinced me to buy a series 3 Nike edition, thanks for the professionalism!
Sure thing. Thanks!
Great vid & accurate to my current thoughts. Looking forward to your final instalment.
I'm an amateur runner 🏃♂️ (half marathons) and was looking for reviews on how much the Apple Watch was useful for outdoor, indoor, runs but also training. You have THE extensive review. Thank you!
Thanks!
Love your videos! I've been waiting to for this one. Once you release the final episode, I'll make my decision to buy it.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
+Kansokusha Kamui Thanks! Should be out next week!
Thank you for this review!
Wow! An excellent review. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your detailed review
Wow, great job!! I’ve been waiting a long time to view this video also. Looking forward to purchasing the Apple Watch series 3 based on your review. Can’t wait to see the head-to-head with it and the VivoActive 3.
+Brian Lancaster Thanks Brian!
Agreed. Looking forward to that.
Thank you for informative videos.
Really really REALLY great review on the apple watch
Thanks!
O M G i had no idea there was so many things under other !
You just blew my mind mate !
Nice!
Such a good review. Thanks!
Sure thing! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your review! Very detailed and made me make the decision to get an Apple Watch! Great video!
Thanks and glad it helped!
Loved this video! Great info-thanks for posting
Sure thing!
I like this a lot. This is something worth watching.
Excellent review! Thanks man
Sure thing! Thanks!
Yes finally, been waiting for this video!
Another great video Des. I’m still using the s0 Apple Watch and itching to get either the vivoactive 3 or the new series 3. Are you saying you can export stock Apple workouts to strava via run gap? Is that an extra feature for 1.99$/month? Can you pair the Apple Watch HR sensor to a bike computer? I believe you can do this with Garmin devices but please correct me if I’m wrong! I use a HR chest strap a lot with my workouts but I’ve noticed it does not perform well with my tech shirts. I’d really like to find the best of both worlds in terms of heart rate data and app flexibility!
Love the old school boom box in the background...the tech juxtaposition is hilariously ironic. Great review.
I liked the analysis of apple 3. Especially like the cassette player in the background. I had one of those years ago. Good technology in its day.
I’ve been waiting for this video. Thanks!
+Paweł Wincentowicz sure thing!
Great review. You made me want to buy AW even more now😬
I love your bike!
Very detailed review, 👌🏼
Thanks!
Super helpful, thank you for your thorough research!
Sure thing!
Great review! I have had the Apple
Watch series 3 for 6 days now!! I love it. Changed from a Garmin Fenix 5. Love all the smart features
+Kendra Orndorff awesome!
Very nice review! Nicely done and highly appreciated
Thank you!
Great review and great content. Subscribed!
+EmilioLV126 Thanks!
Very fair. For the serious athlete, Garmin has the wearables which have been perfected over time.
However, for the casual athlete or just someone who wants to track their activity, the Apple Watch does quite well.
+bb1111116 👍
Which Garmins would you recommend? I’d was thinking of the vivosmart 4 but not having the ability to change is making me lean towards a Fitbit charge 4 or Apple Watch 3. Really dig the small form factor of the vivosmart
Another great video and review , well done. My favourite reviewer so I think!
+Leon Manning,m wow thanks!
the best review of this watch!! thanks
+Ali ASH TV thanks!
The best review of the activity I have yet. I do have an issue (which led me to your video) where my outdoor cycling is only giving me around half of my exercise minutes. It’s very frustrating bc if I do my fishing exercise I get the full amount of exercise minutes, and I can tell you it isn’t near the amount of exercise as cycling 😅. I think I may need to do a calibration on it, from what I’m reading. Thank you for the very clear and straight to the point video!
Very helpful and informative review. Thank you
Sure thing!
Thanks! Fantastic review!
+Lintott8888 sure thing!
Thank you for these awesome details!! So helpful to someone learning if the Apple Watch will fit my lifestyle. I can’t wait to get mine!
Thanks and enjoy!
Thanks for this, you answered two questions I had. I’m also left handed and wondered how it was worn for lefties =)
Very Very good review!
Thanks!
Awesome review!
Thanks!
Man! This is exactly what I needed before buying one. Thank you!
Sure thing!
Excellent presentation!
+The12thSeahorse Thanks!
Great video
Thanks!
Ty for this honest review & comparison. It helped me decide to get the Apple series 3, I literally just placed my order! 😁
Sure thing! Enjoy your watch 👍
Thank you for sharing this detailed review! I was cross between the Garmin Forerunner 235 and the Apple Watch Series 3! Subscribed!
Thanks!
Very nice review. I am excited to be getting mine sometime soon. Subbed!
+Kevbo Kev Thanks!
Very good video! Thorough and fair. 👏🏼
+Eric Sisk Thanks!
What an awesome video. After a year off of my triathlon training due to injury I'm ready to get back into it and I've got an apple watch series 3 coming tomorrow! Thanks for the video!
+The Everyday Dad awesome! That’s great to hear you’re getting back into triathlon. Aiming for an Ironman in a few years myself. Enjoy!
Great review.
Thanks!
Perfect comparison. Please keep uploading new videos frequently.
+Omercan Halil haha will do!
Very nice review! :)
Thanks!
Your review is so thorough and gave me enough insight in to how accurate the watch is, in comparison to others! Did you run using the Apple Watch strava app? If so, how accurate is it, compared to the dedicated Apple activity tracker? Thanks!
Great information.
+Lionel Payette thanks!
Great review and as a avid runner I’m pretty much with you on almost all points. Small tweaks can make this a pretty amazing running buddy - It’s already my favourite running Watch I’ve ever had and it has performed amazing in the three marathons I have done this year (including the training leading up to it - a Series 2 that is)
You should mention short in the video though, that music on the watch with AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones really make for a magic couple. Running and not having anything but earbuds and your watch is a pretty amazing thing
+Dennis Kristensen thanks! I actually didn’t get to the music since steaming Apple Music on the watch isn’t quite ready, so that’s one point I’ll be covering in the wrap-up episode along with LTE performance. Thanks again!
DesFit Great, but you can still save a lot of music on it and go for a run. I have a couple of favourite playlists on mine and it’s amazing. Streaming might be even better but yeah, not available yet
DesFit hi! Do you hace series 2? Is te one that you like? thanks
Amazing review!! Just got the series 3!! Thank you so much
Thanks!
Hey does series 3 track all exercises like yoga
good detail content
Thanks!
Top review
Thanks!!
I received an Apple Watch as a Christmas gift. Debating replacing my Vivoactive 1. Thanks for this video, you've provided a lot of useful information. I look forward to your follow up.
Thank you!!!!
This video helped me so much!! I have been trying to track my overall workouts and this review helped me make up my mind. Thank you!!
Sure thing!
A thorough review thanks. Have you ever had problems with active calorie. I can do the exact same cardio exercise in the same amount of time, the same intensity and the active calorie count can be as much as a 50% difference. Really frustrating. Thanks for your review.
Des . you just get better and better , Loved this Vid , Im sitting on the fence re upgrading from my Watch series 0 , some reviewers say absolutely , some say no , it does the same as the 3rd series , after this vid , ill have a look at your final review and decide from there , bottom line mate , when it comes to watch tech and accuracy , you are officially my guru .
Dang, John! That’s so nice of you to say! Final verdict should be out within a week or two. If the series 0 is working for you, then, ya it’s kind of hard to justify replacing it. Thanks again!
I watched several video about Apple Watch , looking for an impartial Review, mainly focused on the fitness/running options and features, and let me say this is one of the most detailed and convincing one. It's very intersting to have a Garmin's owner point of view. Waiting for new videos (comparison between AW and Other watches or updating about your experience using AW). Thanks for your video. Thumb up!!
+Ematrix1979 Thanks!
I've also been a Garmin user but since that broke down on me I've wanted to buy an apple watch and these videos were perfect!
What about swimming activities/trainings? I‘m really interested in them! Great video, thanks! :)
Awesome, great job!!! Finally a video with in-depth review of the workout portion.
Love the way he started the video
Hi from spain and thank you i had an Apple Watch 1 and i sold but GOT and Apple Watch 3 and reallly works the hearth rate
Thanks for the review -- I use a Fitbit Surge and Apple watch 2 together -- Fitbit doesn't have an indoor track app -- I live in Alaska and have to run inside a lot in 40 below weather!! ... The Apple Watch at least can give a more accurate distance in a track situation -- Fitbit can't count the distance correctly--- thanks for info on the Apple Watch 3....
Please listen to this review, Apple.
I agree. I can't see enough about my workouts on my watch. I then have to switch between Health Data and Activity to cobble together more info on my workouts. This has not been changed since the 1st generation watch....
The best review i've ever seen, still on 2020.
Yes! Thanks so much!!
Awesome videos Desfit, Looking into getting the Apple Watch Series 3. Greatly looking forward to your third party fitness apps review and how to integrate all of the data from all of the 3rd party apps writing to Apple Health to view them nicely with 1 single app. The Apple Health app is confusing and not so good to look at. Also, wanted to see if any of the 3rd party fitness apps can motivate to work out even harder by reading at the previous days of workout. Hope your review does include home/gym based apps and outdoor apps (running, cycling etc).
Wow, this is really a nice review Des. I finally decided to get the Apple Watch Series 3 but I still keep on watching reviews of it online. It's great to know that it tracks workout metrics accurately because that's the main point of having a fitness tracker. I only had my watch this week and this is really great. Guess what, since I've become a regular of your channel, I've subscribed to it already so I'm looking forward to your future episodes. Please continue sharing great videos !
Hello! Awesome video, definitely helped me to buy my Apple Watch S3. Now, have you noticed that when using the activity app > running, if you run 4.3 km, the splits session shows a 5th km!? Why’s that? Big shout from Brazil! Cheers!
I agree with the lack of cohesiveness of the activity app and the health app. Hopefully this has changed for the Series 5 but I'll have to wait and see since I just bought this watch!
Good Review
Thanks!
thanks for this testing, now i’m waiting for your opiniona about watchOS 5 and apple watch 4. Wonder how many issues they fix arleady. But you didn’t say anything about battery - it’s important. cheers.
Good vid man, I use the Apple Watch Series 1 with my chest strap Polar H7 to obtain my heart rate and is a lot faster than the optical sensor of the watch, I recommend you test it.
Thanks
NICE!!!
i like the gps feature here
I really appreciate your review. Presenting the right data and valuable informarmation is highly appreciated. Do you have experience using the Suunto Spartan Ultra? Thank you.
I haven’t gotten a hold of an Ultra yet, but reviewed the WHR Baro. Maybe in the lineup this year. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you. Fenix 5x user here impressed with what Apple has achieved. It's not perfect, but big improvement.
no doubt!
thank you!
Sure thing!!
Great information1
Thanks!
THANKS!!! :D
When will the final verdict video be available? I’m wanting an everyday and tracker watch but undecided between AW3 and versa
Good review dude, Makes my decision a little harder. Can Anyone comment as to how good the connectivity is when connecting the watch to Technogym equipment such as treadmill and bike. I'm assuming it loads your heart rate into the Treadmill data and calculates this into your end workout stats. Thanks.
you have only a couple video but imo you are an honest top notch review! would you review fitbit ionic?
Thanks! Unfortunately, probably not. I was planning to, but I'm a bit late to the party on that review. Although, I haven't necessarily seen a really thorough review yet, so maybe just maybe! Thanks again!
i respect that. but secretly encouraging you to make a review! and im also surprised that there is not a thorough review for gear sport. would you consider too?
+lifemusicelovee thanks for the encouragement but it also comes down to money. Would love to do more but I can only afford so much at one time. I don’t want to go down the route of asking for Patreon donations, although they are appreciated.
Great Video. Is there an option to do nordic skiing with the apple watch?
Have a question , the activity ring on my Apple Watch 3 after the latest update - the exercise is not responding - I could walk 3 miles in 1 hr yet it just say I exercise 3 mins , please advise - it should respond appropriately to the amount of time I exercise -
Another great review...Never been much of an iPhone person... But this makes me wonder????
+Matthew Schultz I like Samsung’s ecosystem as well, but I’ve just been with iPhones for so long now I’m pretty invested. Thanks!
great video have you tried swimming? if so is heart rate accurate? How does it compare to version 2
Where did you get that Adidas top? Love it!
I just ordered the Series 3 with LTE. I ended up choosing it because I wanted to be able to leave my iPhone 8+ at home and have fitness tracking for my runs, have all of my music available and be able to make an emergency call if I am injured on my run since some of my runs can be rather long. As for other more interesting features, I never run indoors and don't really intend to track myself for pilates or other types of exercise. I just want to use it to track my runs so I can improve my times and distances. I don't intend to use it when I'm not working out as I will have my phone in purse at those times. I hope it will fulfill those requirements.
I have an Apple Watch. Which I got recently . I don't mind it , except the battery life isn't great , and don't even try using it with gloves on cause it doesn't work. Would have preferred to have gotten a Garmin vivo active 3 , but I got a great deal on the Apple Watch.
How exact is the watch counting the kalories during workout walking sleeping?
