Talent all over the place here. Shirley was 55 and her voice is just as strong, clear, and charming as always. I love how her face smiles and lights up when she sings. Jerry is flawless and solid as a rock.
Shirley Jones did the role of Magnolia in Showboat on tour with the Kenley Player back in the 70's. Was nice to hear her operatic training used to showcase her.
I just found this clip. I knew Shirley Jones could sing, but I had no idea she was so exquisite. I knew her mainly from The Partridge Family, but WOW! What a voice! And I have loved this song since Irene Dunne and Allan Jones (way before my time) sang it in the film Showboat. A heart wrenchingly beautiful song sung each time by 4 beautiful singers. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never heard of Jerry Hadley…..he had a GORGEOUS VOICE. And Shirley Jones is a beautiful physically as she is talented!!!
