Tips for melee/strength builds, because you will get damaged a lot - boss is weak to fire so get a fire weapon, I used firespark perfume bottle, you can google on where to get it - I put bloodhound step so that I can get a huge window for evading attacks, remember to at least get your weapon to +24 - get familiar with the attack patterns, gonna save you some healing pots, especially if you use bloodhound step like me - The head is the weakspot, attacking the head rips out a huge chunks of it's health - If you want to summon a mimic tear, summon it only after the first phase, the mimic should survive to the end - there are a few attacks in each phase where the head will be staying still, a jump + normal attack or jump + charged attack the head, at the very least you get one good hit on the head good luck, I honestly don't like this boss, more annoying than hard.
Just a note on that: perfume bottles can't do visceral attacks (or whatever the term is) on it when it falls prone for a critical. This is especially important here because hitting it with a visceral at the end of a phase will make the next phase have less health. But sometimes, if you have good carrying capacity, that's what two weapons are for.
