You CANNOT just ‘drop in’ the striker. You have to fit it onto the firing pin and slip them in together. If you do not, you will break off the striker tips.

tecs where made in the 90's out of stamped and cut cheap steel what do you expect., out of all the ones I've seen this is one of the better ones. Sadly they're kind of a novelty they're prone to jamming and misfiring as well as magazine issues from how crudely built they are.
Don't Listen To ANY Jokers that start talking the not worth anything (pretty ban) these are going to be very much a collectors item and will be worth $$ especially as time goes on. Oh.. the ones that call em names, lol. like they're dumming down publics perception.

E L1 Nah, it's a lot harder. With an open bolt, just remove the trigger disconnect and hey presto! You've got a submachinegun! With a closed bolt, you'd have to make an auto sear, which involves a lot more work than remove a piece of metal. Plus you have to make sure the sear functions properly.
duke of nuke Yes, since it was converted from a simple open bolt gun to a striker fired closed bolt, it had to undergo serious change. Open bolt examples of what is collectively known as the TEC-9 and other semi auto open boots are very easy to convert to full auto, while closed bolt makes it more difficult. What you're saying is true, but only for open bolt guns.

Still want one for the collection
Thanks I was wondering if the pin was locked up or just needed more force
Best breakdown video :101
Great info man! Thanks for the video. I just bought mine.
The only problem I had with this gun was the firing pin every now and then very easy to install other than that it was very reliable
Thanks, I always forget that you have to pull the bolt back a bit to get the take down bolt to go in!

Absolutely idiotic ban of the gun.

I am sure it is.
I really do think if you just buy new springs an possibly a new fireing pin i think it would be reliable eny opinions what do you think

Anybody know how to fix a slide lock problem on the tec-9 or is it something that I just need to replace
Shouldn't it be oiled in a few spots as it is being reassembled?
No more than a wipe down. Heavy lubrication is as bad or worse than none at all.
