- Caution: children should use child-safe art supplies. Before you draw the wings, you need to learn how to draw the fairy face. And here's a pretty fairy princess to start us off. Fairies make great characters because their faces are simple, but beautiful. Their ears and eyes are magical. From The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings to the Disney classic, Peter Pan, fairies are a favorite type for cartoonists and animators to draw - as well as for anyone who loves the fantasy genre.
So, if you like to draw cartoons, or manga, you'll enjoy this tutorial. Pick up a pencil, and join me, Christopher Hart, for some magical fun.

Chris.. Hi.. can you do a really really easy caricature for beginners like for editorial cartooning... and do a part 2 3 and so on... if you can.. hehhe.. pls.. love yah.. and draw it full body with different movements..
HE IS AMAZNG I LOVE HIS BOOKS
Thanks for that nice comment.
Thanks so much
excellent job as always mr. hart!
Thanks - glad you like it.
Hey Chris, can you draw some chibi characters
Good timing, we're upload my newest one in a week or two!
Well i guess if you drew a fairy as though they would appear in the real world (IE with realistic human proportions) then that would technically count as a Realistic Fairy. Can't think of any offhand, but if Disney ever does a live action version of Cinderella or Thumbilina then we might have some.
(Edit) just thought of one, any play version of Peter Pan since Tinkerbell is a fairy.
Hello Mr. Hart! You have inspired me ever since I was a little girl! Thanks to you, I have improved my art! Thank you good sir! ^_^
Thank you, and I'm glad to hear that you're still drawing.
I was at Michaels and I bought all of your books that were there XD
Thank you - you can post a sketch on my FB!
Wonderful, I always liked the way fairys are designed, they kinda remind me of manga with different proportions, but maybe the old disney fairys had an influence on modern manga design. Just a thought, thanks for another great video Chris, you rule buddy.
Thanks. These are fun characters to draw.
Anytime buddy. I'll give it a go myself when i get my new sketchbook :)
hey Chris, do you think you could do a full body drawing of a unicorn i struggle to draw them and horses in general if possible it would really help. Great video by the way. :)
Good suggestion!
That's so good
Thanks.
I love your videos, keep up the great work u are very helpful
Thanks a lot.
This is the first time a you-tuber had ever texted me back
great video 👍! Just have a small question- I am not able to get a lot of flow while drawing cartoons. I get very shabby lines when I draw, anything i could do to improve other than practicing ?
You may feel bad about the line quality of your work, but I am struck by what an excellent question this is. It takes a sophisticated eye to come up with this question, so please be encouraged. Just knowing that the flow of a line is important is 80% of the solution. Here are some key points: Do not use flow all the time. It's an accent. For it to be effective, there has to be contrast to the lines. Second, try using reverse curves, an "S" curve. When a line flows in one direction, it ends up flowing back, in the other. This is what makes it fluid, and appealing. Last, you have to know when to use it. For example, you would probably use flowing lines on hair, the outline of a face, but you would not necessarily highlight it on very specific shapes, like a nose, or the outline of the head of a rugged character. I hope that's helpful.
Thank you so much, I'll definitely pay attention to all these details and thank you so much for taking time out of your day to answer my question :)
My pleasure.
You draw fanbastic!!!
Thanks a lot.
What does that mean
It means I am always going to draw them - no problem!
and also im curios.. on how many years have you been practicing.. to become a professional artist?
Well, it's sort like this... you draw, and you try to improve, and then one day, you realize that you can do it, and you submit your work somewhere - often with numerous attempts - and then... you get published! Start off small, and work your way up.
Pls can you draw more baby bears
Try and stop me!
too quick:(
it’s my first ever drawing and it went horrible and l think l will quit art 😕
I think you probably have not yet discovered your strength. Some people need to transpose what they are drawing into a style that works best for them, rather than copying exactly what someone else drew. I'm not saying that this is the answer for you, but you might consider it. I wish you good luck.
You don't learn piano and try to play mozart first. Relax. And keep practicing
Should l quit art and how did you do it so good l do it so bad 😞
My suggestion, without knowing how you draw, is to simplify. Many people starting out try to draw with too much detail and get frustrated, but the basic construction is the essential thing. Once you can get that going, you can add detail little by little.
NAAAA,, don't quit art, follow what Chris has to say and show, you'll get there, one idea for you, is pause the vid, take a screen shot, print it, forgot to add, when you copy the screen shot to word, there are some artist effects, left hand side, you can make, one of them is to darken the lines, then print it, then get some parchment paper, cheaper than tracing paper, tape to the screen shot, and trace the drawing, do a bunch of times till you can do the drawing without tracing it, you'll get it, I am sure of it.. remember what you see Chris can do took a lot of practicing. keep on drawing....
