Buddy, I really don't know by which language to thank you. You solved my centuries old issue! I even enabled administrator account and tried removing Windows main HID compliant drivers! That didn't help. I did so many other things including updating the drivers, but even those didn't work. Your solution saved me so much time. Thank you. Do you also know how to fix computer waking up from sleep on its own?

*6/12/2023* Mouse over an application window started moving the scroll both vertical and horizontal. The browser window wasn't affected, nor Office Windows. I had 2 wireless mouse drivers. One a TECKNET and the other a Logitech. After spending hours going through various solutions (including restarting several times and plugging in a WIRED mouse - with the same auto scrolling results), I removed the TECKNET mouse USB device, the TECKNET mouse disappeared in the Control Panel. Then the issue immediately disappeared without restarting.
Amazing how such a seemingly insignificant issue as mouse behavior can ruin ones day. Good luck.

i think WD-40 will help (it worked for my Logitech M170 mouse),
open the mouse and spray WD-40 over mouse wheel and dry it with blower or vacuum cleaner (blower)

What a bullshit. If your mouse scrolls automatically, it's a hardware problem, open it and clean it. Going through all the windows settings will not help.

for real its a software issue not a mouse issue, i used my spare mouses and all 3 had same issue. its a windows software or driver issue. Havnt figured out which one
