- Del Mar Skate Ranch 1985 Session including, Mike McGill, Jeff Grosso, Ken Park, Joe Johnson, Neil Blender, Dan Wilks, Billy Ruff, Early Mike McGill Mc Twist, Niel Blender Sad Plant, Andrecht, Frontside Invert and the best fastplant you have ever seen!
The drain cover looks hungry for unwary victims! 😂 A truly great upload of a time where I knew all these names better than some immediate family members!
Good to witness a sesh going on back in the day. I paused Neil Blenders frontside hand plant at it's apex..holy contortions Batman!
Indeed
The style is better than today. And that bowl is gnarly.
Blender's stall on the sadplant though, and Ken Park's bean plant was clean
Ahhh. Hearing everyone rolling over the drain brings back memories
McTwist was the trick
I'm sure that bowl was a beast to ride. It's just so funny to watch the legends kind of struggle with backside airs and 50/50's.
Mike McGill was the first to do the mctwist he invented that trick
Seen many a session back in the day. Great video thanks for sharing.
Very cool raw skate session!
2:45 Dan Wilkes does a Phillips 66.One of the harder Vert tricks invented by Jeff Phillips. Maybe a few people can still do it
I’m thinking that’s Joe Johnson.
Same here @@bookemdanno96
Probably due to him also being from TX, he picked up on rhat trick , sessioning with Philips. Winkowski can do then also
One of the first McTwists
MCGILL IS RIPPIN!
Cool footage. Don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing Blender stall an invert, and McGill does a couple of moves he rarely if ever did in contests, like Andrecht to fakie and FS boneless (attempt).
Anyone know who the small guy in the white shirt and helmet is from about 8:07 to 8:20?
Making an honest guess, but that looks like Tom "Wally" Inouye to me
A stalled invert is a thing of gymnastic beauty. Never gets old!
The sound of those big, soft wheels rolling on the concrete is so soothing. The drain on the bottom looked like some sketchy business
Soft ?! They would have been at least 94A
YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Mctwist
I guess backside roll outs were the 50-50 grind back then. Sick session.
I guess you're some punk rock, posing, piece of shit.
@@nkmcfrln I know you are but what am I?
I was there...
Such amazing footage, I could watch Blender for days,my only neg tell me if you agree DON'T DO TAILBLOCKS WITH YOUR TRUCK TOUCHING COPING(McGill)l
Blender is a God!
Fuck yeah. Blender is the man !
I was Wrong, that's Joe Johnson from Colorado
Fuckin Joe Johnson with the 66! Someone needs to edit in the theme from the Good the Bad and the Ugly when Blender shows up.
Bean plant...yeah baby!!! But fugly frontside airs.
GROSSO IS FUCKING BADASS TOO!
Mike McGill took way more than his fair share of runs..
fucking shredding
It's like everyone could do airs back then haha
I thought it was because he was too raw and don't fit into powell's clean cut image?
Reminds me of thrashin
McGill would have been 10x radder if he stopped wearing flyaway helments
Flyaways were the best . Protecs were shit .
think thats joe johnson.
Stlalled.Sorry to piss you off
Grossos detalled inverts sucks!
no wonder vert died a death, it was so damn boring.
Really? Hahahahaha wow dude...... you were just watching one of the most innovative things that ever happened in skateboarding and you found it boring. Yet it probably affected everything that you do today skateboarding. Coincidence? I think not. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Hahahahaha indeed......
PS. I just stopped by your page and check things out. You are “A” complete picture of everything that is boring. Hahahahaha
@@TheMorganMonroeShow that's funny because I just stopped by your page too :) i have half the content and about 10 times the view count, If i'm boring what does that tell you hahaha. you're welcome for the schooling.
PJ Dexter it tells me that you can’t count. Maybe you should go back and do a second count. One of my videos has over 2 million views. And this is only one of my accounts. Hahahahaha. Now that is comedy.
@@TheMorganMonroeShow can you send a link? I’d love to check it out, thanks! I’m a bit busy right now but I’ll be sure to pencil it in.
Billy Ruff. Yea lilnotoe i was there also. That makes us practically family
Yea bean plant. Could not recall the name of that trick
