  • This is one of those tools that can turn simple passes or plays into nice driving lanes, and even buckets... get good at it and watch what opens up 👀

Crazy the names they come up with now. We used to call it a catch and go when I was in school lol

That’s the thing though, it’s not a catch and go. It’s a go then catch then continue going. ThTs why it’s so effective.

It's a go and catch, not a catch and go. Catch and go is when you catch standing, then go. Here, you're moving before getting the ball

@@shaunsimon9189 We used to hop in a direction, catch the ball, and then do a rip thru move to the rim versus catch stationary and then attempt to blow by

@@COOLSAUCE21 We used to hop in a direction, catch the ball, and then do a rip thru move to the rim versus catch stationary and then attempt to blow by. It's been a while since I was in High School though so I could have forgotten the correct word ordering. It's kinda interesting the new names they come up with for certain actions too like 21 and Pistol referring to the same thing!

@@Chandasouk right but that’s different than running into the catch. You’re method is effective but different than the stampeding method shown in this video.

Lmao, what timing. I'm working on that currently because I figured out in practice that I can utilize my speed with this "stampede" a lot better. Helps a lot against zones, and we encounter them often here in europe.

The hardest thing for me is not travel off the speed hop. Got to get a better feel for getting the ball down hard on the catch. Can't pick up the foot before starting the dribble. A few of the NBA clips you showed might be called a travel. But it's a good skill to have. Jamal Murray and Kawhi are the most skillful at reading the defense and making up a plan of steps in a millisecond

I dont have a problem with calling this a stampede, it's just a long drive. I would call it a long drive. Great video, great move.

i haven't really understood how to do it d i have to catch the ball while running or hopping forward?

Yes, I kinda learned this from soccer where you start sprinting before receiving the ball to attack space
