    • @monikasoffronow1717
      @monikasoffronow1717 6 лет назад +5

      Yes, you are right. A lot of pyramid schemes are posing as legitimate MLM companies. There are a few differences that can help you sort them into the right hat, so to speak. It costs quite a lot of money to join a pyramid. That is how they make most of, or even all, of their money. Products, if there even are any, are over-priced, often grossly so. The main business idea is to charge people hefty sums for joining, not necessarily to sell a lot of products. People get paid a good-size commission out of the join-up fees their friends pay. Opportunity presentations tend to be very, very tempting, who'd say no to more money and more time off? (If you don`t mind scamming your friends)
      Legitimate MLM-companies charge a small fee to join, or it can even be free. The company pays commissions only for real turnover, in other words, instead of paying for advertising in order to create sales, they pay the people who either buy their own, and/or sell their products, and/or recruit others and thus create indirect sales. Often their business presentations may seem shoddy in comparison to that of a pyramid scheme. Remember, a real MLM company wants to sell products, and their products have to be of a quality to create repeat purchases. They do not need the super slick presentations.
      So to sum up: A. Expensive to join? Leave running! B.No products or something that is clearly there to "pose as a product range"? Leave. Now! C. Overpriced? Haven't you left already!

      you can't profit from a pyramid scheme. it won't last a month before legal actions are taken. If you realize, legit companies like Herbalife or Amway or even Nuskin. They've benefited hundred thousands of people. Every person who truely understood the essence of the business has been able to built themselves up to become the best person they dreamt to be. @@lokgarrick People get really on the defensive when they hear about a network marketing business because only a few people succeed... but in reality, MLMs are not that different from life in general ( just look at the banks, the federal reserve, and big pharma corporations! only a few thrive while a majority drowns.)
      I joined a couple of MLMs, Herbalife was one of them, and honestlly, I was legit: the guy who introduced me was aprofessional who told me it was just like a sales jb, and it would be super hard to make it without working. Today the dude is making enough money to offer a summer retreat to his parents every summer. In my case, I like the product but didn't like to sell it, wasn't my thing, so I didn't make any profit!

  • @ericptam

    This happened to me at a vulnerable point in my life, as I was in the middle of a career transition. I came across a man at a random networking event who took an interest in me and kept asking me to stop by his office. I went in for an "interview" at the office space and the pitch was something akin to this-lifestyle, work at your own discretion, but no discernible business model or product being sold. I was introduced to maybe 15 people-all of whom helped during this "presentation" for solely me. Weirdest thing, shaking hands with a room full of people in on a scam. I wasn't sure if any or all of them were either completely brainwashed or so morally loose as to try to hustle a 21 year old. The man continued to email invitations over the next few months, until I put him in the spam bin. Scams are bizarre and all over the place. If it doesn't smell right, it probably isn't. It's like an underground of illegitimate business...avoid at all costs.

    I can look back at this video and laugh at it now. Ironically, when this video first was uploaded to RUclips it was literally the day after I quit being in Amway/LTD. Even though he never said the name of the pyramid it's obvious that it is indeed Amway. He didn't really scam them though just wasted some of their time.

    I can tell you right off the back what company this is 😂😂😂
    The company is called Amyway for any people wondering. They have a ‘mentorship’ program which is called Ledership Team Development or LTD which is what’s talked about in the video. Like everything he said in the video from the info sessions to the sitting down at a coffee shop (Panera for me) is completely accurate. You have to buy a membership card for both LTD and Amway which are $35 and $180 respectively. They try to get you to go to there summits and stuff which the ticket for that is $130-$140.

      Navy suits remind me of a different group under Amway. I got drug into a session one time and was super pressured didn’t like it. I was only 18.

    Misleading title but still an entertaining video. It mirrors my experience with Amway, so I'm glad this guy didn't get scammed. I hope others learn from his experience/story.

    These scams are everywhere. I knew this girl from high school who got scammed by selling Herbalife.

    I feel scammed by watching this, I thought his “scam” was going to be more elaborate than just wasting others people time... and his.

    I've had my experience with MLM's, too. His story is basically what I experienced. Don't fall for the buzz words like "diamond level" or "level" or "you've got something special about you."
