"Stay out of and away from the water" - immediately switch to a river crossing! :D
Beautiful video !
I am from here. You shouldn’t be worried about crocs on land, even in shallow fast flowing water it should be fine to swim. I would mainly watch for snakes lol.
Being from Florida that kinda looked like my world.
We don't have a lot of crocs, but I'm assuming gators behave a lot alike. Not very dangerous on land and don't usually inhabit clear, fast moving waters.
Ethier way, that was quite an adventure with the weather and the swamps. Nice!
Crocs are not like alligators. They are dangerous in water and very dangerous on land. They can lunge 4m in .25 of a second. That’s 12m/s. You simply cannot get away fast enough if you are within their strike range and they can run pretty quickly too.
I think you’ll find the highest mountain in QLD is Bartle Frere not one on Hinchinbrook. You said biggest though so I’m not sure if you mean size or height.
Who would know about crocs in QLD? Les Hiddens might! But then from the crocs perspective you're the 'bush tucker'.
Good thinking letting Katie go first...😁
I think so too!
Nice video mate, I'm doing the same track at the end of August, fingers crossed we get better weather ha ha.
You two are just amazing
Looks similar to the Florida Everglades, minus the mountains. Yes, No water excursions at night.
Epic hike, looks like a lot of fun. Pretty cool seeing your Trangia cooker. I have had one in my truck for years.
absolutely incredible. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome!
What a hike. 💦
Cheers. 🍷&🍺
Looks beautiful. I would be one to go over and look for the crocs.
Yay
Where is your Mick Dundee knife?
Great video, loved the wilderness ! Question: how did you do with recharging your camera? It looks like you took a fair bit of footage… curious!
I have a portable solar panel and battery pack - I wanted to show it on camera but the rain was relentless! I will do so in a future video
How would you defend yourself if you had a Crocodile come at you in the water?
Best Wishes from Montana M.H
I honestly don't know, and I'm really not sure there is anything you can do.
What's your count of 'Australian wildlife that can kill you' sightings?
Really not that many yet - maybe 10 total. Soon it will be thousands once we really get into croc territory.
How did you go with the rats?
Didn't see a single one and hung our food overnight. No problem.
Only 40 at a time. Don't want the crocks being overfed and getting fat.
Australia looks beautiful but it's like a overProtective mother following you around warning you about everything.
Ha, you nailed it, that is exactly what it feels like! Ten million warning signs and rules and regulations!
@@TheRoadChoseMe Also on public land the Government is legally required too, to not get sued.
Haha yeah, crocodiles is not what I want to see. No thanks
