- Hi guys! So this has been our experience in finding a rental but I know of families that did not struggle and found a place with in the week. I guess we just had bad luck. ✌️
My eldest brother and family found a good rental. The owners asked them how long they would like to rent. They decided for two years. They live in Howick which ain't cheap but the owners were very reasonable and made the rental affordable for them. It's a very beautiful rental with an ocean view. It's a clean rental and owners owns a number of properties. In the beginning it was difficult but with the help of God they found a gem.
It also helps if you let them know that you can pay 1 or 2 months rent upfront.
What helps is to also put a little "house cv" together and incl your references. We have done this and worked...it will get better, we have moved 3 times now in Auckland. The struggle is real, but you will get there in the end and trust the correct house will come soon, stay strong and reach out if need someone to talk to 🤗 Xx

How long are you planning on staying in NZ?
Permanently
@@aliciaboshoff4196 that's good to hear. I'm a NZer in Australia where getting accommodation is terrible to find and very expensive. Great you've decided to settle in my beautiful country. PS: Pub beer is expensive. Get supermarket drinks.
@@aliciaboshoff4196 i would recommend the Rodney District or North Shore Auckland . I grew up there ,so many fond memories
That is horrible ?! There must be an easier way !
How about the rent?
Our rent will be $650 per week. We paid $3900 deposit that includes first 2 weeks rent
@@aliciaboshoff4196 2 beds house?
@@taloot813 3 bedroom
@@aliciaboshoff4196 we are also coming next month to rotorua
Thanks for the info
What ppl don't realise wen they come here is that we got homeless ppl waiting for homes, it's a big problem for our ppl, so don't complain if nothing goes smoothly, we gotta house our own first
It's just as worse in Australia so you can't complain about it being just a problem for us in NZ.
