Small tip, when you drive in, look at your dashboard, they always have a small triangle lit up next to the pump image showing you what side your petrol is to be filled from.
Tip - Fill up in multiples of $20 to maximize the number of spins you get eg instead of a $60 fill in one visit, separate it into 3 $20 fills which can all still be made in the same visit (there’s no blockout period between fills for receiving a spin). I usually get between $1 & $5 off and the most I got back in one spin was $10 from memory. I don’t know if the chances of getting more moola increases with the more you fill in at once or it’s simply a case of the more you spin the more moola you’ll get. I play it safe and take a little bit extra time and make multiple fills on the one visit to get more spins - although I usually do that at night when I fill up and no one’s watching giving me a “What the Fuck” look 😂😂, otherwise I just top up $20 at a time on my way home from work at night
When I travelled in SA I found it really hard to fathom someone pumped the gas for me, took a few times to not automatically get out of the car at the pump. A small tip you missed is the latch on the pump handle (at the top of the trigger by your pinky finger) so that you don't have to stand there holding the trigger. Handy when you're filling up but need to keep a fussy kid entertained :)
@Alicia Boshoff oh! In that case try it out next time. Also it will instantly unlock when gas starts going back up the spout if you're filling, so it's really a hands free experience. Welcome to easy mode.
Hi Alicia, thx for this video as I'm preparing for our NZ trip rn. One (stupid) question: if I want to make sure I fill up the tank, do I select the highest max value or do you always eyeball the right max value? Is there a disadvantage if I select a too high max value?

Gull is also good prices compared to BP and others. An independent dealer chain, like Waitomo.

@@kloppo5631 There is an option to “fill” and it will stop when the tank is full ☺️ Enjoy your trip!
