I BUILD A PIZZA OVEN... WITH DIY SKILLS

- Despite being 4 years deep into a massive (incomplete) barn, in an act of utter lunacy Alex downs tools for 2 months and builds himself an outdoor kitchen & pizza oven.
FYI: Alex embarks on ambitious building projects. Whereas most builders rely on proven skills and experience, Alex prefers a potentially calamitous combination of optimism and youtube-based research.
I love your videos! The humor, the cock-ups, your bleeped swearing, I love it all! Makes me laugh, and that just makes my day. You're very talented, by the way, and I absolutely love this outdoor kitchen. My only complaint is I need more videos! Lots of love and encouragement from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Thank you what a kind comment, it’s really appreciated! 😀
A lovely refreshing change from the super slick American builds where everything is perfect and they never make a mistake. Good for me to watch as one of these could be on the cards for my cabin in Romania. Brasov is my nearest town if you fancy whacking a pin in. Thank you :)
Love how it’s going, Alex!
Also rather envious of your garden space - would love an outdoor haven like that.
Watching from Barcelona, Spain.
Love this channel, just discovered it. I’ve been wanting to build an outdoor kitchen and pizza oven for years. Really given me the inspiration to give it a go. Thank you. Glyn from Newcastle Australia
Gorgeous build! Love the old brick aesthetic. I'm DIYing a brick stove myself at home too, there's always troubles for someone who's never done it before. heheh Greetings from São Ludgero, Brazil.
Yes, it’s turning out alright. Good luck with your build hope it’s going well 😀
It takes me back in time! …………….. watching you build is like watching ‘It’s a Knockout’, I never know what disaster is coming next, but I love it!! 🤣🫡😎
I was thought they were a little bit more organised and it’s a knockout 🙃🤣👍
Wonderful pizza oven, I now can’t wait to binge your other videos! I’m too renovating my property and currently building the outdoor Pompei pizza oven, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who enjoy doing (and entertain!) these sort of works/ideas 😄
Brilliant, sounds like you’re keeping busy. You should film it 👍😀
Amazing work man! Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina 💪
I really like this kind of diy build ! I like that you keep the real life footage, good or bad.
I wish to build a pizza oven one day in my life, cheers from Montreal, Québec, Canada.
Hey Alex, Its so impressive watch you just go for it despite this not being your trade. Great to see, keep it up!
Cheers Shaun we’re getting there!
Oh my, this is the channel I have been waiting for! I have been researching building a bread/pizza over for years! It has always been so intimidating that I haven't dared make a go of it! I think you have given me the confidence to jump right in and cock it up from the get go! 😂 But seriously you obviously have talent and know what you are doing ... the second or third time around anyway! 😁 Thanks for the inspiration from New Hampshire USA!
Just found your channel. Great video! Looking forward to watching more! Charlotte county FL, USA!
Hello, from Finland. Just found this channel. Been planning on building one of these pizza ovens myself. I like the fact that it’s not one of these super pro channels, we actually get to see the trial and error aspect as well.
I love watching videos of people building not knowing how to do it and figuring it out. Well done looks great. Sydney Australia here.
Nice looking oven! Everything you cook in there gonna be so delicious!
Greetings from Edmonton, Alberta
P.S. Got yourself a new sub! Looking forward seeing your next projects
Impressionnant ! Belle persévérance, et super résultat, vivement la suite. Félicitations et merci. Cordialement, tg.
How kind! Thanks for watching 😀
Peter here in Letchworth, uk. Great build alex. Love the way you talk through your thought processes
watching from the States (Arkansas) and yes I too would LOVE to see the barn finished but this pizza oven is VERY nice and one day we do plan to build one. Glad to see it can be done even as a DIY'er as yeah we are no expert either...lol.
Well, as I mentioned the barn is in progress and going well. As soon as I’ve got the last episode of the kitchen out, I’ll be back with some more updates on that project. Thanks for watching 😀
Just found your channel here in Mesa, Arizona, US. Definitely looking forward to watching that barn build playlist.
Really enjoying the build process! Giving a ton of great ideas for my own build next summer - much appreciated! Cheers from Stratton, Vermont (the Green Mountain state).
Great stuff glad to be of help. I say go for it, I hugely enjoyed building this 👍👍
Just discoverd your channel. My wife would kill me if i even try something like that, but i think that she would enjoy a pineapple pizza after my funeral. Best of luck, greetings from Belgium.
I appreciate that you are showing your mistakes along the way. Hi from Vancouver, Canada!
Well, there’s plenty to share! Thanks for watching 😀
Love your tenacity Alex! Cheers from Roskilde, Denmark

honestly just found this channel and my god! it's so interesting and satisfying to watch. Also since you asked. Hello from Kielce Poland!
Just like many just found your channel, very cool build! Greetings from Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Great footage , love watching . Keep the videos comming 👍
I’m hoping you of all people enjoyed the Albert & Rodney clip 🤣
Watching from Carramar, Wetsern Australia. I'm also a trial-and-error kind of guy. Great vid, keep up the good work.
It’s the only way! Thanks for watching 😀
Another good video Alex, can’t wait to see the Christmas dinner video :-)
I’m also hoping to get some roast beef on it in the next week or so. One to look forward to 😉
Great build this, watching from Belfast Northern Ireland 👋
Cheers Jamie appreciate that 👍
I pass Domino's on the way home from the airport. £19.99 and 10 minutes later, I'm done. So much easier, Alex!
Great progress, sir.
And cheaper! Thanks for watching 🤣
amazing job! not exactly Poland but i am watching from Kyneton Victoria, Australia
Close! Thanks for watching 😀
Love what you're doing, botched ups left in.. good for a laugh or two. Wathing from Anna Paulowna, The Netherlands
It falls down because arches need side support - the top pushes the sides out!. I predict - I haven't seen the rest of the video yet - that the fire is going to make very serious cracks in your work of art.
Don’t worry, I know this! It will all come good in episode three 😀
Hi watching from Australia just wanted to say nice to see you having a crack. People are to scared to make mistakes these days but it’s the best way to learn.
Regards
Joel.
Another viewer from Poland, greetings from Kielce! Very nice build!
I knew you poles were out there watching somewhere 🇵🇱👍👍
Great Video! Greetings from Oaxaca, México! 🇲🇽 👏
Chimney should of been more to the back, so the draw from the arch opening can draw front to back
G’day mate, you my friend is what we would call an absolute Aussie
occa, (awesome bloke that’s just builds shit how he wants to, with mishaps along the way haha😅)
stumbled across your awesome little channel from the pizza oven video, very awesome, looking forward to the next one. Watching from the land down under Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺
Keep the cool content coming
Cheers
BEST COMMENT EVER 👌👌. Never heard the word but now a proud Occa!
Love from Cork, Ireland - Great build so far!
Cheers! Thanks for watching ☘️
Watching from Johannesburg, South Africa! I feel that you would’ve gotten a better draw from that chimney had it been on the back chamber.
Maybe. Will cover most of this in the next episode, don’t worry it all turns out alright. Thanks for watching.
Watching with my Polish wife - Namysłow, Poland!
She guessed the oven door was Polish before you even said it!😂
Great video’s, keep um coming! Greetings from Mogilno Poland. 🇵🇱
I knew you Poles were out there somewhere 🇵🇱😀👍
@@AlexBuildsUK I kind of cheated, i moved to Poland 3 month ago.
Very impressive. You have got courage and talent
You’re half right, I do have courage 🤣
@
But still….. very good. Learning by doing!
Thank you man. I find your video extremely helpful 😊
when is the youtube viewer openings party? Pepeijn, stiens, the netherlands.
Great idea! I hope you like English style roast dinners 🥩😀
i think it looks great you done a good job . Thanks
Thank you! Cheers 😀
Thanks for a great video. From Astana, Kazakhstan.
Excited for part 3 now!
Coming soon! Thanks for watching 😀
Very engaged, very entertained! Cedarburg, Wi, usa!!
Cheers appreciated 😀
Awesome work, love the videos!
Glad you like them! 😀
Just found your channel very entertaining keep it up from Adelaide Australia
Thank you! Will do 😀
Alex, man, this is the SECOND arch you've built, then collapsed. On the next one, build some butresses/ side supports as the arch goes up. Don't pop out the false work until the side supports are all set up!
Actually Travis, I’ve built three arches and I think you’ll find only two of them have collapsed 🤣🤣🤣
@@AlexBuildsUK 🤣
Ooo like the fire !
You could do a good roast dinner on that fire 🥩😀
@ great idea 😎
Can't wait to see the fireplace in the barn!
Don’t go giving me any more ideas 🤣
POLAND, WALBRZYCH its just 70km south west from WROCLAW. I have been watching for a while, but its not easy to comment on a tv. Had to log in on my laptop. All the best ;)
The bricks on their own won't hold an arch.. you have to build the surrounding bricks to hold it in place before removing the mould.. it's physics
Don’t you worry, I was only testing out the look of them. It all comes good in episode three 😀
Idk why this was recommended to me.
But chiming in from Arkansas, United States
Well, I’m glad it did, and welcome aboard 😀
do you really need firebricks for a DIY pizza oven? what happens if I use regular bricks?
why the barrel design over a dome? greetings from Tallassee, Al.
A lack of ability to do something else 🤣👍👍
Bacaya bir kilepe eklemeniz daha iyi olacaktır kapatamazsanız ısı ve ateş hemen gidecektir kolay gelsin selamlar
Well, come back in episode three and you might discover that I retrofit one 👍👍
Cheers from Poland! :)
a trick question "what's the difference between Kilos and Kilos to Kilograms? "
Home is in Poland, Warszawa, but I work in Angola, Luanda.... when are you ever going to get someone watching in Angola 😂
That’s the first time we’ve had that combination on the channel, Ryan 😀
Hope you dont need a bigger map but watching from post falls Idaho,
Thanks for watching James 😀
I wanted to comment for months since I saw there is no pin in Poland. Better late than never. Jacek from Kraków. 🇵🇱
Buttress ! ! ! no arch with out it.
Don’t worry Robin it all comes good in episode three 😀
@@AlexBuildsUK I am yelling at the TV And my wife wants to know what Trump has done now! No, I say, this guy, from the UK, the home of gothic Cathedrals is building an arch without buttressing. Now, at this point, I should tell you that I am on a quest to visit every English Cathedral - and being from Canada, my poor wife has developed what we call a Cathedral allergy. (after only 4 hours at a Cathedral, her eyes begin to turn red, and she cant stay awake) To properly buttress, you are very close to the edge of the concrete pad. - But again, the point of all this is your put yourself out there, and let us see what happens. So, thank you (PS, from Iona Station Canada)
Joking aside - the first arch that collapsed was me rushing it, the second one was just to get a feel for how the fire bricks might sit at that rotation, I was never going to leave that in place. Good luck with the Cathedral crusade - hope the marriage survives it 😜
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Love your approach to this project. Can’t wait to see more. Well done.
Watching you from Portland Oregon USA.
Thank you very much Larry 😀
