I love the Job Perspective. Now when I face things I can’t understand, aren’t fair, doesn’t make any sense, not in line with what I believe God’s will and plan for my life...I take the Job Perspective.

I’m Jewish, but I watched this video anyway. :) the book of Job has always bothered me, but in the context this pastor describes, it does make more sense. However, my big question is, WHY would Jesus have to die for everyone’s atonement? The Torah already had a system of atonement vis-à-vis animal sacrifice and the Day of Atonement? I’m just trying to understand why God would have changed his mind about atonement and humanity?

The answer is found in a simple reality. Indeed the Torah did have an animal sacrifice system which was to be done at the temple by the Levitical priests descended from Aaron. But just as surely as the Lord sent the Assyrians to take His people into captivity for their disobedience as warned through the prophet Isaiah and others, and just as surely as He sent the Babylonians to take them into captivity and destroy the temple at that time for their disobedience as warned by the prophet Jeremiah and others, so too He sent the Romans to destroy the temple in 70 AD for their disobedience as warned by Jesus. He foretold this accurately in Matthew 23 and 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13. The examples in Matthew 23 are verses 37-39 and in Matthew 24 :1-2 which says:
Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
In verse 15 He said: “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ a spoken of through the prophet Daniel-let the reader understand- then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! These events and more were fulfilled in 70 AD when the Romans besieged Jerusalem and broke through destroying the temple. Did the Lord leave no way to atone for sins from then till now? Over 19 centuries? Was Jesus the Messiah? We know that God never ordered anyone to do what was sinful. Yet He told Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, didn't He? An ancient event commanded by God foretold something. Is there any prophecy of a man who would die for the sins of the people? Here is Isaiah chapter 53. Read and decide for yourself.
Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
After he has suffered,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.
Simple answer: for His own glory.
simpler answer, if you wish to reconcile with someone, walk beside them. The Word became flesh to join humanity to God, to become the arbiter and redeemer for mankind, precisely what Job reasons out to be the answer of his dilemma. Job becomes the symbol of mankind’s suffering, exposes the condition of all humanity and he calls for a redeemer. To reach those who suffer Christ suffers.
If it was OK for Job to be very rich and wealthy and live the good life, then it should be OK for us as well.
Abraham did not stop with the dagger over Isaac because he saw a ram caught in the bush. He stopped because an angel of the Lord said, "Abraham! Abraham! Do not lay a hand on the boy, Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” Additionally when he says at the 42:15 mark that "The iniquity of us all was laid on Jesus Christ so that the wicked may prosper." , no, this is not correct either. The wicked here and there prospered before the time of Christ, yes? And there are wicked that prosper today, after Jesus time on earth, yes? Of course. So how does this work? Jesus came so that the wicked who prospered before His time may now prosper after it as well??? What kind of theology is this? NO! When the Lord refers to the wicked, is He referring to those who do NOT obey or acknowledge Him. Yes we all sin, but whole point instead is this: Jesus came so that those who are wicked would be wicked NO MORE, as it is written:
"REPENTANCE for the FORGIVENESS OF SINS will be preached in His name to all nations."
He did not come so that the wicked may prosper- nor did He come so that the wicked and righteous alike may prosper. This has been going on for millennia before and still goes on.. Jesus came so that we would REPENT of our SINS and be wicked NO MORE in order to have our sins FORGIVEN- which is SALVATION ITSELF! Turning FROM wickedness. Regardless of how this speaker intended it, he stated very plainly:
"The iniquity of us all was laid on Jesus Christ so that the wicked may prosper." He further adds that "Those who are wicked will be found among the blameless." Yes, but only if they REPENT of their sins in the name of Jesus, and are wicked no more.
But I agree with the lion's share of the rest of this sermon. He did right when he had people pray for forgiveness for sins and I commend him for that. But why is it that people all recognize the prophecy of Jesus in Isaiah 53 (though it begins in chapter 52), and Psalm 22, but have no mention- even in preaching, of the ones in Job such as Job chapters 29, 30, and 32? Or the prophecies of the antichrist in Job 15: 17-23 and Job 27: 13-23? Beware of the teachings of men, my friends. A LITTLE yeast works its way through the whole batch of dough.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament Jesus Christ is worshipped by men, angels, He uses Gods names and titles, I AM is used by Jesus several times , in Revelation He is called ALHPA AND OMEGA, ALMIGHTY. If Jesus is the Creator of the world, how does He become a creature, just like you and me? Jesus claims to be Alpha and Omega- how does He become a creature like you and me? If men and angels worship Him as God, how does He become a creature like you and me? If Paul claims Jesus is our Great God and Saviour, how does He become a creature? As a result, such denominations have reduced Jesus to the level of man. They are dismayed when we worship Jesus as God.
Well if you read the word it says be loving 7 times 70 also not to fight but to unite and seek truth. Jesus also said not to follow traditions. Making accusations because your pride in tradition was impeded, is not what you are to do. John 1:1 is perfect if you look at the translations. It clearly says The God and a God. Also if you truly read look at Hebrews it says how Jesus was MADE and why we can worship him too. Also read the whole book of John it clearly shows the difference between God and his Son. Also it says no one has seen God but Jesus. So if John baptized Jesus but never seen God then clearly Jesus is the son that God sent as he said he would. There are no other Gods beside of or before. So if Jesus is next to God on the throne is God a liar? Read and seek brother a void your traditional lies
So your translation says there is such a being called "a God"? How is this possible? "A god" implies one of many gods, but "God" refers to one true GOD, Creator of everything, seen and unseen. Our Creator, the sustainer of the universe. No "god" possesses such attributes.
