When I was still a Catechumen 20 years ago in the RCIA programme, I used many sacramentals and I found them really helpful to me in my focus for prayer and contemplation for God, given that I wasn't yet baptised at that time. They helped me to connect to God [and also the Catholic community, because as Catechumen, sometimes in terms of spiritual vibe and sensory, we often felt we were still from the outside]. That's why I always encourage Catechumens during their RCIA journey to use sacramentals. Now that I am a Catholic, I still use sacramentals in my prayer and spiritual life but not as much as when I was a Catechumen. Now I focus on adoring and encountering Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in the adoration room and receiving Holy Communion during mass. Of course, my Rosary bead is still a must have.💖
