heyy i really struggle with crocheting the straps like after the forst row where you wrote dec 2 you only wrote a normal dec for the rest of the project but i didn't really see a difference between those 2 also after i ch2 do i have to skip the first stitch? i already started the straps like 3 times new from the beginning but the decreasing colours from the edges always looked uneven (either i decreased too much or too few)
Hi! at 6:06 - it totally feels like you skipped a step. I have no idea how you got from that first round to a whole connected bag. That first round at 5:21 - is that the bottom of the bag? and for 14 rows, are you stiching 14 rounds around the whole rectangle?! and how does it end up connected!? someone help me!!!
When you finish the round, you use a slip stitch to connect it to the beginning of the round, then you chain two and start a new round (the two chains being the first of the four double crochets). That first round at 5:21 is not the bottom of the bag, but the beginning of the body. It will look like you just make the bottom larger for a while, but as you keep going you will see that it is the body as you don’t increase the amount of double crochets. Hope that made sense!
ok this is the first time i crochet and i was confused at that part too. idk if im right but i will explain roughly as a beginer haha. so the first part we crochet is kinda a rectangle right, if we continue crocketing it will still stay in that shape, i think that where we both confuse at. however after we done that one, she showed how we need to do all the corners of the rectangle shape. now its all connected! just keep crotchet after that part it will turn into a bag shape dont worry
I know this all says 10 months ago, but if someone’s reading maybe it will help them; when you do the first round she says BLO. Which is back loop only, that basically folds the bag upwards so when you keep crocheting it will fold up. If that makes sense
hey can someone help me at 5:35 for the body of the bag? I finished crocheting the first round but when double crocheting around to build the rest of the bag the form isn't going up and turning into a bag but rather its expanding more similarly to the first round and its laying flat :( what should I do??? how do I build it up??
The strap of the bag is soooo hard to make (for me)!! Can you post a video showing more details of how to crochet this part of the bag, please? 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you for share this tutorial with us in first pleace 💖
Please please reply So i was doing the first chain and i did 41 as you said then i did 3dc and 4dc(other colour)..but then i continued doing it 4dc(blue) and again 4dc(white) but at last i always end up with 3 dc(white) but yours ends up with 4dc ...what do i do
I had been cutting the yarn every time i changed colors. I found out when I finished the bottom that I didn’t have to lol. I was wondering why it was taking me so long lol. But i have all my ends on the inside so it’s not a big deal. Hopefully the rest of my bag will work up faster now lol.
heyyyy thank you so much for this video! I'm making it and just finished the body, about to start on the strap. Just a quick question, what do you mean by "dividing them in three"? at 6:57. do i just fold it as how you did and at both edges, marking 2 squares on each side? Someone please help a sister out thank uuuuu
Basically with the stitch marker, you want to mark the opening of the bag (I did 6 squares ). You mark at the front and the back of the body, then you work you strap between the stitches on the sides. Hope that helps ^^
hi! I have a question, I’m currently doing the strap of the bag and I have a problem I don’t know when to decrease, I’m confused on how to do it, bc when you decrease it turns on 1 st instead of 2 and when I do the next row idk where to decrease, I don’t know if I explained myself correctly sorry 😭😭
Started and finished in one day because your tutorial is so easy and amazing !! I never tried this design cause I thought it was too hard, turns out this video helped me out a lot thank you ! 🥰🥰🥰
What have you meant by going along in the chain side you mean DC in the back loop of the chains because I'm struggling in making DC in the back loop of the chains side (I'm at the first round of the body)
excuse me for asking.. but 13:31 sew what ends? I just slip stitch to attach both of the strap.. do I still need to sew? If so, sew where?😅 Please Reply🙌🏻
With the sewing needle, it's for the loose threads. It's not really sewing, you just put back the loose threads in the stitches so everything ilooks neat.
Dc - double crochet Blo- back loop only 4:56 - you need make dc for around Then make 14 rows with chaining 2 sc for every row If you have any question write here 🤗💙
Umm... i did it!! Mine looks a little bit different since i used a thinner yarn w/ 3 mm hook so it gives more sturdiness to the bag since it's tight and doesn't stretch much...if you guys too lazy to sew the cloth inside i really recommend using smaller hook 😊. Thank you for this amazing tutorial ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ
Thank you! I understand all the stitches but I’m having trouble with controlling the two different colors I guess? I wish I could post a picture but when I turn my work around, some of the string is accidentally being connected to my stitches, resulting in lines of string occasionally across the squares. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong; I think I’m holding it incorrectly😭
I accidentally did the same thing and had that problem!! i have no crocheting experience and this is the first thing ive attempted to crochet but ill try to explain it as best as i can: when you put your hook through the next stitch make sure the other color yarn is above the stitch you’re about to put ur hook through, and when you pull the yarn through for the double stitch, make sure it also goes through the other color yarn - hope this helps :)
what you have to do is carry the yarn, that means just putting the opposite yarn over your crochet hook, but not pulling it when you start a new stitch
thanks so much for the tutorial!! 💜 i just have a question, in 6:01 when you say "ch2, dc all the way around for 14 rows", you mean i have to ch2 at the beginning of every row? sorry that's the only thing i didn't understand 😔
Hi! Thank you for this tutorial and the written pattern! At 4:38 when you say to "work all the way around round," what does that mean? Can you provide the link to a tutorial perhaps? I'm really confused about what to do after that and I'm not quite sure how to end up with a pouch like you did.
im pretty sure it just means u go all the way around the entire base of the bag, not just along the row. and then to get the bag to curl up for the sides and get the "pouch" ur just going to double crochet into the back loop and not both loops ! :)
for the edges there really isn't distinctive stitches to crochet into. you sorta just pick spaces to put a stitch that are somewhat spaced out, dont worry too much about BLO on them :)) fyi im not totally 100% correct but thats what i did and it worked fine! xx
@@moodyaria5568 It's a crochet term, short for 'back loop only', which means you insert your hook only through the back loop instead of both loops. Videos might help a lot more than written explanations!
I kinda don’t understand how to do the decreases for the straps, I’ve gotten the rest done without any issues but for some reason I can’t figure out the straps
This is my second tote using this tutorial, I finished the first rather quickly; I’m picking this project up after months of procrastinating. I love this design tysm the only problem is that the tote stretches alot but tysm anyways!
Hi I have a question , when we start to build the body part you said that we need ti chain 2 and chain all the round for 14 rows so my question was do we need to chain 2 at the beginning for every single row for 14 rows or just in the first row and thank you very much ❤
Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I’ve done ten rows out of the fourteen and it still doesn’t have a bag shape at all. It’s literally just a large rectangle. Does anyone have any advice or help? At this point I’m planning on taking it all apart, but I’ve already spent so much time on it
Idk if I got the question correctly... but its just dc in back loop to attach the bottom to the sides. After that you just dc in both loops... irdk if that answers it haha :)

did the size come out the same?
When your here 4:15 do you still do blo or just a regular dc??
On the side it's quite tricky as is not real stitches. So did regular dc for the sides
@@lailaoloriegbe30 pls omg I have the same exact problem 😭 do yall have insta? bc I still don't get it and this tut is not being helpful at all
thanks so much for the tutorial!! 💜 i just have a question, in 6:01 when you say "ch2, dc all the way around for 14 rows", you mean i have to ch2 at the beginning of every row? sorry that's the only thing i didn't understand 😔
yes you do! this way the chain 2 serves as your double crochet :)
Thank you for the pattern! Im making mine with a tiny cord yarn!
thanks so much!
i finished making mine this morning xx
ive posted it on my instagram story and tagged you as well if you wanted to see :)
@@ChloeChangg How long did it take you???
@@mandy3938 less than a day!
@@ChloeChangg woahh that’s amazing
omg its so helpful and super clean! I love it

@@anniemcsharry266 how many dc in each colors for the round , I’m confused in that part
@@hwangdalmi8557 i think it’s still 4 per colour so that the squares still match up
@@anniemcsharry266 yeah it’s 4 per color, I’m doing my project
Thankyou for this i am goin to get into crochrt again soon anf i eill make this for a friend thankyou!
When making the body, how do you DC BLO on the edges of the rows (seen at 4:20)? I'm confused as to which one is the back loop?
for the edges there really isn't distinctive stitches to crochet into. you sorta just pick spaces to put a stitch that are somewhat spaced out, dont worry too much about BLO on them :)) fyi im not totally 100% correct but thats what i did and it worked fine! xx
@@mayan2516 Got it! Ended up feeling it out as I go and it turned out fine. Thank you so much xx
Hey what does blo mean?
@@moodyaria5568 It's a crochet term, short for 'back loop only', which means you insert your hook only through the back loop instead of both loops. Videos might help a lot more than written explanations!
I kinda don’t understand how to do the decreases for the straps, I’ve gotten the rest done without any issues but for some reason I can’t figure out the straps
can someone please explain what she means by 'divide the bag in three' cause i am so confuseddd
this is sooo nice & cute! 🥺
hehe
What does DC Blo mean 🥲 1:28
back loops only
Mine turned out so well, thank you for this 😍
Did it turn out small or was it like average size
@@insiyarangwala7084 I used a 4mm hook so mine was a bit smaller than hers
How long did it take you?
@@shannonmcc26 how many grams of yarn did u use?
This is my second tote using this tutorial, I finished the first rather quickly; I’m picking this project up after months of procrastinating. I love this design tysm the only problem is that the tote stretches alot but tysm anyways!
How long did it take you to make one?
I have a question, did you crochet back loop only in the whole body or just the first row of it?
@@yokii425 it's just in that first row so that it can start getting its shape.
It took me a few weeks, only bc I’m a slow at crocheting and bc I did some extra rows
Ilysm thanks for the tutorial luv 🫶🏽🥲
It is super cuttteeee!
Wverytime I switch rows I can see the opposite colour peeping through on both sides from when I crochet it in. Am I doing it wrong
Very good tutorial
I love this tutorial it’s so cute! I hope you come out with more in the future! ❤️
Thank you, more videos are coming 👀💙
This is amazinggg just a question of i want to make the base bigger how many chainss should i do??
It's so beautiful bag.. Thank you forthe tutorial
Hi I have a question , when we start to build the body part you said that we need ti chain 2 and chain all the round for 14 rows so my question was do we need to chain 2 at the beginning for every single row for 14 rows or just in the first row and thank you very much ❤
can someone help me 😭 idk how to continue after 3:26
The corners will be rounded if you knit only the first one with a skip.
Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I’ve done ten rows out of the fourteen and it still doesn’t have a bag shape at all. It’s literally just a large rectangle. Does anyone have any advice or help? At this point I’m planning on taking it all apart, but I’ve already spent so much time on it
My bag also came out wider than the video but what i did was to add more stitch than what she said so it can go taller. It got better
Can you do a full video tutorial for the bag handle , because I did not understand it
Thank u for this tutorial! I made it and I think I messed up somewhere bc it’s a bit wide lol but I love it💕💕💕
ohhh i love thiss!! thank u❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Once you have the bottom and you are crocheting all around, do you continue to use BLO after the first row?
Nope just BLO for the first row ;)
THANK YOU FOR THIS TUTORIAL... I'm almost done but the straps are really confusing 😭
Im so confused about the stitch marking part of the straps
im struggling with the first round, do i dc in the back loop pf the sides as well? I cant quite see them
Idk if I got the question correctly... but its just dc in back loop to attach the bottom to the sides. After that you just dc in both loops... irdk if that answers it haha :)
best video im so glad you posted this💙
Glad you liked it!! 💙
I really love my new bag, THANK YOU SO MUCH😍💞
wait when u were going to divide the bag how did you fold it? 6:52
