20:40 I love how this show, unlike the reboot (which is one of the most anti-white shows ever), shows that not all white people are racist. Phil's partner, Mr. Furth, appears just as angry about the situation as Phil and Vivian are, as he and Phil likely worked on many civil rights cases together.
The song that was playing when Will and Carlton was trying to go up to the girl in the mall is called Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble, which was written by Will Smith.
Very enjoyable episodes the mistaken identity episode have one of the best Uncle Phil moments and there will be plenty more Uncle Phil moments throughout the entire series. The scene with all the cameos are Bo Jackson: he was a football and baseball player and is well-known for his signature "Bo knows" catchphrase, Heavy D: he was a rapper, Malcolm Jamal-Warner: he played Theo Huxtable on the TV show The Cosby Show. Notice the NBC logo behind Malcolm, The Cosby Show was on NBC at the time just like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air., Quincy Jones: well known music producer and is one of the executive producers of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He passed away just a few months ago, Al B Sure: a popular singer in the 90s and Kadeem Hardison: he's known from playing Dwyane Wayne on the TV show a different world, which is another show that was on NBC at the time. The actress that played Christine was in the movie house party with Tisha Campbell and she played Jody's mom on the movie baby boy. The lady that went out with Geoffrey is supermodel Naomi Campbell
Admittedly, I used to be like Carlton when I was his age. I was innocent, naïve, a teacher’s pet, a rule-follower, and had a childlike personality. In case you’re wondering about that part, I grew up with Asperger’s syndrome. While I have not experienced racism growing up, I know how it feels to always put trust in authority figures and thinking they’re just trying to do their jobs. I unknowingly went through psychological abuse by a resource teacher back in elementary school. From time to time, I received some unfair treatment from her that I didn’t understand until I became an adult. Once in third grade, she nearly discouraged me from watching my favorite Rock ‘N Learn video, Colors, Shapes & Counting, because it was only for kindergarteners and not older kids. During the same year, she forced me to wear a different colored t-shirt on a certain day because she was tired of me coming to school every day wearing a red t-shirt, even though she knew red was my favorite color. Once in fourth grade, when I was singing a couple of children’s songs while doing a worksheet, like The Wheels on the Bus, she told me to stop singing them because I wasn’t in preschool anymore. Once in fifth grade, she tried to forbid me from bringing an imaginary friend to school and said I’d be in trouble if she caught me. This last example gets under my skin the most. During the same year, she once told me I acted like a two-year-old because I was upset when a classmate with osteogenesis imperfecta accidentally took my seat at a computer and the resource teacher had me sit at another computer. To top it off, the next day I came to class, when I told the resource teacher how I felt about what she told me, she didn’t bother to apologize if she hurt my feelings. She still insisted that I was acting like a two-year-old and told me not to continue living in the past. I never told anyone about these moments because I thought they were just out of tough love considering my resource teacher was nice to me most of the time. But when I told my mom for the first time in my mid-twenties, she was appalled, angry, and told me that her actions would’ve resulted in her being suspended or fired from her teaching job. As I continued growing up, I began having the same mindset as Carlton. Meaning that, I thought the world would go easy on me if I just kept doing what I was told, staying out of trouble, and being the good person that I was. But sometime after becoming an adult and realizing how the world really is, especially first understanding my experiences in elementary school, I now know that it doesn’t always work like that. Little did I know there are certain authority figures out there who are willing to abuse their power to pick on others and/or get them in trouble based on how they look or behave. I’m interracial (part black Cherokee and part white/Italian) myself and the sad thing is that if I had experienced racial profiling back at Will’s and Carlton’s age, I most likely would’ve thought the cops were just doing their jobs too. Luckily, I still don’t have any experience with racism as well as being treated equally by others to this day. Even so, you never know if that day will ever come, and I sometimes worry about that from time to time. However, I try not to let that interfere with my life as I still have a loving family and some great friends who will have my back if anything happens.
I can't wait, your getting closer to the better episodes i guarantee a few are gonna make you tear up 😂 my emotions was like wow watching a few of these episodes as a kid because it was my tv show that showed me real moments and lessonsy
Aunt Viv in the jailhouse is my top fave scene (after the one were she danced her ass off to prove those young ladies wrong) she was the best aunt viv❤😊
The flashback show with Will and all those famous people. I’m sure you don’t know any of them, but they were all very famous in the 80s-90s and even earlier
All the cameos . From shows like A different world , the Cosby show . , iconic cross over episode basically. As a kid was excited to see these guest appearances. TV doesn't really do this no more .
I love that you are doing these reactions of classic black shows. You should react to A Different World. Its one of the few sitcomes (if not only) where the focus is solely on young adults navigating college and life. Had an amazing 6 season run and was monumental for its time (it was credited with promoting and helping increase college rates for Black students in the 80s and early 90s).
28:18 no it’s not guys thinking with their eyes, it’s thinking with their little heads. In reference to Phil’s question who’s the girl? 53:26 some of the pop culture references go beyond the 1990s and are more 1980s references.
also, there was an episode in family matters where Eddie Winslow was the victim of racial profiling, and when Carl Winslow met up with the cops who were harassing Eddie, the senior white cop was using excuses to dismiss his racist behavior.
He only had like 2 shirts.😂 And I think whenever he gets thrown out, it's always the same shirt, even if it wasn't the one her was actually wearing in the episode.
There’s no apologies for not knowing who Don Cheadle is outside of the MCU. He’s an underrated actor. Here are some fun facts: Lisa Bonet is an actress. She was on The Cosby Show & A Different World. Her & Will Smith were in Enemy Of The State. Christina was played by AJ Johnson (Jody’s mom from Baby Boy). Helen was played by model Noemi Campbell. The song that was played inside Fresh Prince of Bel-Air gets pitted against Martin. Martin is the funnier show but The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is the overall better show.
Hi MJ, My Favorite Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Season 1 Episodes 6 Mistaken Identity That Whole Episodes is so funny I'm love what Uncle Phil talking to the cops to let Will and Carlton out of jail. Aunt Vivian getting ready to take off her earrings. I'm Really Love Will and Carlton singing in the jail cell until the guy next to them started singing to them like a musical. My Favorite Episode 7 Def Poet's Society Will want the girl by poetry then he make up poem and poet then Will have Geoffrey to be poet reading the poem at his school. My Favorite Episodes 9 & 10 Halloween Will and Carlton finding dates in the Mall for Hilary Halloween Party. Aunt Vivian Singing inside Recording studio in the Mall she singing a lot of great songs then she turned herself as Tina Turner for Halloween Party. My Favorite Episodes 10 Kiss My Butler Geoffrey's Birthday dating a Younger Woman Maid. When the Club with Will and Jazz. The Security Guards Throw Will Out the Club like Uncle Phil With Jazz.😊😍🥰 ❤
Why does she call Uncle Phil and Aunt Vivian Boy and Girl like that this is weird...I ain't know we were still back in the Jim Crow era getting our Adults called Boy and Girl...
I enjoy looking at your reaction videos but I'm curious why do you always stop the video so quick every 10 seconds to voice your opinion about the video instead of at least letting it play a little longer before you react to the video
Uncle Phil bailing Will & Carlton out of jail is easily one of the all time great Uncle Phil Moments.
Yes absolutely, one of many great Uncle Phil moments.
Pool hall episode is legendary uncle Phil moment ever as well.
Top 10 moments of the series

When Uncle Phil said your grandchildren going to need lawyers was just to powerful
Carlton not understanding racial profiling was crazy!
Look at Will’s face and you’ll see him mouthing everyone else’s lines when they’re talking sometimes. He learned his and everyone else’s lines.
These early episodes are classic! Will was mouthing everyone’s lines 😂
Remember, this show aired weekly on television, and there was no internet.
True, probably why the flash backs were necessary then instead of me watching back to back.
@MJWITHOUTMOVIES There were re-runs during the week, but you didn't get to choose which episode aired.
The song that was playing when Will and Carlton was trying to go up to the girl in the mall is called Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble, which was written by Will Smith.
Oh yea. For us that grew up with the show, we had to wait for weeks. That's why we didn't mind the flashbacks.
good point about having to wait one week for a episode
@@krazkeelo9032 as someone that watch The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air during its original run, you are absolutely correct.
Remember we use to wait on a weekly basis for these episodes you're watching back to back
She didn't watch this, that's why she's watching it now, lol

The long flashback was to save money. The first season is the practice run, so not much money.

The episode where Will's friend Icebox flies in from Philly, you can see Will mouthing the words especially.

30:37 just realized that’s the mom from the movie “Baby Boy”
and ol girl from house party 1
Fun Fact: Every time Jazz gets thrown out is wearing the same shirt
fresh prince, martin and in living colour are my top 3 favorite show
MJ. The female is AJ Johnson from House Party with Kid & Play and Tisha Campbell
Aunt Viv in the jailhouse is my top fave scene (after the one were she danced her ass off to prove those young ladies wrong) she was the best aunt viv❤😊
Hilary and Ice Tray with that Lady and the Tramp love
The flashback show with Will and all those famous people. I’m sure you don’t know any of them, but they were all very famous in the 80s-90s and even earlier
They normally didn't shorten theme songs until the beginning of a season. Them shortening it this late, not bad for being in the first season
"They doin' the Lambada!! That's the forBIDDEN dance!!!" 😅🤣😂
Remember that movie?😁
So glad to see young people like MJ watching shows i watched as a KID ....
When i was in high school ....EVERYBODY watched fresh prince
The mall used to be a fun place to go in the 80s and 90s. So much activities and events.
*Will looking at us audiences*
*The girl looks his direction in confusion*
“What are you lookin at??” 😂😂😂😂

I know this show probably isn't among your selection of wanting to watch, but I'd like for you to one day give an episode of All In The Family a try.
Fun fact if you didn't know anytime you see Jazz in that purple shirt, he getting thrown out the house 😂
😂😂😂😂
He only had like 2 shirts.😂 And I think whenever he gets thrown out, it's always the same shirt, even if it wasn't the one her was actually wearing in the episode.
Don Cheadle also played Al-G in space jam: a new legacy & voiced Donald duck twice in the 2017 Ducktales tv series.
Fun fact Carlton was also in a Michael Jacksons music video and did a Pepsi commercial when he was young
@@johnruedas831 yep he was on a Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial.
The one weve been waiting for 😊😊😊
Uncle Phil at the Police Station just goes to show one thing: “DON’T F**K WITH UNCLE PHIL!”
Your hair looks great, MJ 🙂
It is a bit unusual to see Don Cheadle in a youth role since you're so used to see him play more mature roles.
It's a lot of flashbacks cause it's a flashback episode they were very popular back in the day
who doesnt know Don Cheadle is Captain Planet.
MJ is a clutch. Love the Cheeta jacket W content.
