I run Gens Ace in my xmaxx recommended by my hobby shop. My mind was blown at how much better they performed than the Traxxas batteries that I originally bought with the truck. Way better performance and run time AND way cheaper!
I run buggies, trucks, and FPV race drones. I've had a lot of good results with the CNHL batteries. Specifically the Ministar series and currently the Black series. The Ministar batteries are more for the FPV drones, but the Black series brings higher capacity with high discharge rates to the table. The specific ones that I use in my 4 wheeled vehicles are the 2S 1300mAh 100c and the 3s 1500mAh 100c batteries with XT60 connectors. They also have 2200mAh and higher versions, but the C rating might be lower. The CNHL batteries have been the best bang per buck that I have found in about 5 years of experience of using LiPo batteries.
I've had great run time out of my ovonics, while everyone else is changing to their 2nd battery I'm always running the 1st one still and usually have enough to goof around back at home in the yard to get the tires clean.
Yea im using also Ovonics. Best Bang for your Buck;) I also fly FPV. Drones drain hard on Lipos. Ovonics stay stable. CNHL Blacks are also Powerfull but wont life as long as the Ovonics. For small Drones i use CNHL Ministar. mabey i will buy and test a 3 s on my Truck^^
Great video. I have some Gens Ace 3cells for my crawlers. They are awsome batteries. I get really long run times and, the cells stay balanced. Killed an Adventure Series right down to 0. And it charged back. Great batteries!!
I use SMC lipos, cheap for their discharge rate. For crawlers, most will do but I found that brands like Ovonic and Zee sag a lot during high amp draw.
Your reviews are my go to for info hands down. I go back and watch that video you referenced in the beginning all the time just because I love seeing you make that SAD BATTERY FACE lol
I was one and done with gens ace. Got a 3s, 1300mah. Used it in my umg10 build and maybe ran 4 or 5 cycles through it, always storage charged and put up. Always. Came down one day and it was completely flat. Not even buzzing my voltage checker, stabbed it in a safe place and it didn't even puff smoke or anything. Barely a month old. Never had a pack just die completely at random on me... Probably a lemon i got.. but it was bad enough where I won't try another one from them though. Not to turn off anyone from buying them, just my personal experience with the brand.
I have the Gens Ace 5200mAh battery for my drone but the 3.5mm HXT bullet connector is incompatable with my drone PDB's XT60. All the online HXT to XT60 adapters seem to be in reverse polarity where the red wire of the battery would incorrectly be hooked up to the red wire on the PDB. Is there any alternative or should i manually solder a bullet connector to a XT50 header myself and use them as adapters...
Thank you for the recommendations! When you say that a good battery stays balanced, how much of a difference in voltage would you expect to see between cells? I I have a couple of 4S batteries that are the same voltage when they are fully charged but once they are discharged some of the cells are up to .4 volts different from the others meaning I cannot run them as long without any of the cells going below 3 volts. So I'm wondering if the batteries that you recommend will perform better than that or if what I am seeing is typical even of good lipo batteries.
i had two 3s 3000 ordered metallic blue soft case. one have two 0 V cells after 10 runs and the other is still in good shape after 5 years an 250 cycles.
I've heard about some kind of lining as being put in LiPO batteries so they're less likely to catch fire when punctured one of my cell phones recently got punctured and it did not catch fire I'm not sure if the RC batteries have this feature yet.
my grandson is asking about a " Arrma Big Rock " for driving around the barnyard and i'm not sure what the battery requirement would be for this truck . I know it will run on either 2 or 3 S but what C- rating would you recommend ?
would you recommand these batteries for a race boat ? they take A LOT of beating and need a lot of power my traxxas battery died ..... what do you think about traxxas batteries ?
Is it ok to use a higher voltage battery than the esc in the rc car, i mean is it ok the battery 11v for example and the voltage of the esc is 6 like in trx4 traxxas ?
Off topic, but do your tyres get flat spots when they sit on the shelf like that? I lift mine up, so the tyres don't touch the surface. great vid as always ;)
When I can't get a hold of Tattu 3-4's for comping, I use Zeee's.. almost as great as the Tattu's and better plugs than the Ovonics!! You can get 2 3S 1500mah for $30 or 2 4S 1500mah for 32 bucks!!!
Hi great video with very useful tips. Quick query maybe someone can help. Decided to try a tattoo 3S 2300mah for the TRX-4 Defender to replace original Traxxas batteries (the 5000 were too big and 1400 mah were too small). I remember seeing on this channel a battery tray with lower CG that could hold medium sized batteries like the Tattoo 2300mah? Any recommendations? Thanks
i have 6 years lipo (gensace and multistar 20c) and never use (about 5years) but i put at storage mode. when i check it still balance. it safe when i use it now?
Shittcheay boy. I use the gens ace 2200mah 50c adventure packs for my trails rigs and I totally love them over all my other packs I’ve tried since the shit started with lipo and nimh became obsolete.
Here is a real test, buy 5 different batteries and take the labels off for testing, I am willing to bet you wouldn't know what was what in the end if all 5 were quality brands.
Unlike servos, it's pretty hard to design a machine and show on camera how good a lipo battery is. But I've had at least 100 full charges and drains on Gens Ace batteries and I've had the best experience with them. Price, performance, safety... I'll stand by them.
Gens ace sucks big time. It doesn't stay balanced very well, not the best power and they puff up. One of the wires became unsoldered. Worst batteries ever, I never buy them again. Same for corally, traxxas and sigma. Turnigy lipos all the way, still driving my first 3s lipo after 5 years, she is a little puffed now but she still charges 12,6v and gives a good runtime..

are they still any good ?
My favorite ASMR RC channel 🍻
Wow you noticed too. Epic.
Lmao 🤣
zzzzzz.... :)
I have also had great luck with Gens Ace and Tattu! I have a ton of them both! Running them in trail trucks, bashers, boats and now large scale!
Totally agree. All my current batteries are either Gens Ace or Tattu. Quality is terrific!

I've only ever got gens ace batteries, had a couple over 2 years now and still charge perfectly

Gens Ace is phenomenal. I also think Venom has some good batteries too. Great video Francis! 👍😉
u named my 2 battery types..
it would be cool to have a video on lipo storage and charging setup and installation
where and how to keep them

Appreciate a lot, we will keep going~

Thanks for this video! We will keep making product what rc community need! : )

SAD BATTERY FACE lol
Going to have to get a couple and try them out

Hi Koolaid, sorry for your bad experience, you can PM us about it in Facebook @gensaceglobal.

I have had good luck with both Venom LIPOs and also Venom charges too. However, they are expensive. Thoughts?

Gens Ace for Racing and serious bashing. Goldbats on Amazon for bashing, especially in mud and places you don't want to ruin your better lipos.
Hello, thank you. Your videos on battery and charger are so useful! I've learned a. lot. Ciao Nanni
Longer videos please!!!! 😋

I have had 6 gen ace batteries and 4 died from internal resistance quickly.
would you recommand these batteries for a race boat ?
they take A LOT of beating and need a lot of power

What would be a good battery and charger for my rock hobby jeep please help😁
is gens ace a sister brand of Zee? I have a Zee 3 cell for my scx10ii and I love it
hell no...zee is a great budget battery tho
LOL nope, both of gens ace and tattu are sister brands of Grepow

Ciao volevo chiederti per il trx 4 stok quale lipo supporta? E per mettere una 3 cell bisogna cambiare qualcosa sul mezzo o e già predisposta?grazie
What internal resistances do these new Gens Ace Bashing get?
Gens ace adventure, best I have used!
do you use LIHV or just LIPO?
@@RCReviewChannel lihv 3600, mine have been perfectly reliable..
Can you review the Charisma Coyote I don't see much Americans even touch the subject I seen the pup version you did but not the scale version.
Off topic, but do your tyres get flat spots when they sit on the shelf like that? I lift mine up, so the tyres don't touch the surface. great vid as always ;)
Hi
does the battery have an odor and it is normal or should there be nothing
thanks
hi, I don't see the links in the video. Revitalizing the lipo sounds interesting
fixed now

What about run times? What do you get with your 6s kraton?
I get about 20 minutes with a 5000 mah
Nice video lot of info been in hobby for some time now love it
I have always used traxxas batteries. I very surprised that they don’t have any hard case batteries.
when the price of the batteries could nearly buy a new car, I chose different batteries
What about Maxamps? Are they not up to the quality of Gen Ace or are they off this list purely based on cost / value?
Good battery but very expensive.
Hay guys I'm new to this just wondering if the gens ace 3s 8000mah 100c is safe to run in the scx6 jeep please help would be great thank you
Are turnigy batteries trash ?
What do u make of absima battery?
Just an ok oem battery for Absinan cars
Great Video Francis
i have 6 years lipo (gensace and multistar 20c) and never use (about 5years) but i put at storage mode. when i check it still balance. it safe when i use it now?
Safe yes. There is no risk as long as it's balanced and it doesn't puff up or get hot.
@@RCReviewChannel thank you sir!

Anyone using Lectron lipos? I have a bunch and Venoms as well.

like ur video's, great work on all the servo testing. BUT this video smells a lot like promotional add!
