- In todays video I am showing you how I handle my cameras, when I got them from mail. I go to the initial cleaning process and do some little refinements like the replacement of the light sealings.
So it is my Quick 'n' dirty CLA Process. :)

Dieser fiese Algorythmus. :D Hoffe, du hast deine Dichtungen ersetzt bekommen. Eine OM1 habe ich hier auch noch liegen, aber die hat einen defekten Belichtungsmesser. Ist zum Glück voll mechanisch. Da komme ich drum herum. :)
Soweit ist alles gut. Es könnte man gerne warm bleiben. seit unserem Urlaub ist ständig wer erkältet und verschnupft bei uns. (Jetzt gerade ich). Aber sonst geht es uns gut. Ich hoffe, euch auch. :)
For years at Olympus service, I advised users to keep an old toothbrush in their kit to brush off debris as it arrived to avoid just this sort of dirty build up on their cameras!
With OM1/2, you should remove the top cover and remove the foam above the prism. Else it can start to demage the prism. I have done that to all my OM1/2 cameras.
That is really a good hint. I had this issue in a couple of old Pentax cameras, but never thought about the OM cameras. Will definitely remove this.😁👍

Thanks. The idea with the cockpit spray is cool. Will follow the same. Btw, your light seals seem different from those available at Enjoyyourcamera (which you recommended last year to me in a reply). What light seal is that which comes in a roll?
Actually I don’t know the name of the light seal in a roll. The roll was a gift by a nice guy! :-D the Enjoyyourcamera light seals do work as well as the roll ones. When this one is empty I will continue with the sheets.
Hallo Manu, dein Video ist sehr interessant und super praktisch. Kannst dubitte mir sagen, wie/wo ich in Deutschland „Light Seal Foam“ finden kann? Auf einer Rolle scheint es sehr praktisch zu sein. 👍
Die kleine Rolle habe ich tatsächlich mal geschenkt bekommen. Aber ich habe mir auch mal Größe Platten bei Enjoyyourcamera gekauft. Die gibt es in verschiedenen dicken. Meist nutze ich 1.5mm für die Dichtungen und 2mm für die Spiegeldämpfer.

Thank you for the video! I'm curious why you didn't remove the lens and clean inside the mount and mirror?
Huh! Now that you mentioned it, I see it, too. Usually I also replace the mirror dampers and clean the mirror if needed. 😅
Don't you think that foam could get inside the elctronic parts and possibly damage it ? For the rest well done !!!
I would not be affraid of the electronic parts, but the mechanics can be sticked together or the foam above the prism can damage the coating of the mirror.
Clean-Lubricate-Adjust. Only thing i see it cleaning. So if u sell a camera like that as "CLA`d" its a fraud.
