I'm sure you've answered this before but, why is the auger at the rear of a standard bank out? It seems like having it more forward would make unloading an easier task for the operator.
I've been watching corn and soy bean harvesting for years now and am used to seeing grain carts in action, but this is only the second video in which I've seen these ag carts, so my question probably is strictly from being naive, but would it not be or could it not be a thing if these ag carts also pulled a bin trailer as well? I mean I understand more power would probably be needed, but wouldn't that be a fair trade-off....a little more power for more work in the field?
Your videos are awesome Matt! You have kinda inspired me to start documenting on my channel our very own rice production here in Arkansas! Again, AWESOME VIDEOS!
I think you said your bank outs were one of a kind. Now they have a cousin. If you get a new combine you might need a new bank out. Definately a drone video when his unit is built and in the field. Great alternative to burning especailly in the california climate.
Scotty, great question! It’s the machine’s only speed: fast. The unloading auger is huge and just carries that much more rice. The ground speed is faster (ability to thresh faster) so the bank out has to keep up and one slip up means a lot of rice on the ground. -M.
Hey Matt great video. I was hoping somewhere in the video you was going to say that you was getting a new bankout. Maybe next year on that.....lol..lol.
Awesome stuff Matt so will the 1 rig be able to do all 3 tasks. Just swap wheels and bed for tank and go? Or will it be 3 separate trucks. Do they feed all the employees everyday or just that day. That would be neat if they did daily company lunches.
Oh great question! I'm sure you could take off the grain tank and add the liquid tank and change wheels--using all the same tractor chassis. The day I was there the employees all took their lunch break together in a break room. Everyone packed their own lunch. Great questions! -M.

I enjoyed this. I’m still not sure why not use a grain cart? Also hydraulic driven augers, is slow and having two augers is a pain eventually. Being able to use it for multiple things is a plus. Putting steel wheels on it for stomping or spraying means hauling it around. I’m just trying to figure it out, learn why you do it differently than we do in Southeast Missouri and Arkansas?
