I had a thought the other day in the shower: If Echo hadn't gone MIA at the citadel, Rex (and possibly Ahsoka) might not have survived order 66. Since Echo was Fives' best friend, I'm not sure if Fives would've become as close to Tup without Echo's absence. Echo and Fives were like Waxer and Boil and Jesse and Kix. Losing Echo probably opened up Fives chance to bond with the other clones, particularly Tup since he convinces Rex to let him come along to escort Tup back to Kamino since he was his best friend. So he probably wouldn't have been as compelled to have gone with Tup back to Kamino and subsequently try to save, discovering the truth about the inhibitor chip in the process, if it wasn't for what happened to Echo back at the Citadel. And it's because of Five's sacrifice that Rex knew enough about the chip to make the recording Ahsoka would use to save Rex
I remember seeing this live on TV as a kid. And I was really sad because I saw every episode when it came on, and I remembered Echo, so this hurt like hell.
I wish they finished the last season 6 episodes. Would have been great to see echo rescued. And then have echo ask about fives and Rex tells him about his death.

I wasn't exactly sure I would be into a kids show, but this is really excellent. Ten times better than most everything about the prequel films, and a close rival to the originals.
This is literally my favorite moment with echo. The way he just grabs the shield and hauls ass shooting everything in sight and trying to take out the commando droid is just so bad ass man, fuckin badass. Bro even takes out the turret and flanker so hell ya man.
It's a tragic death and it was devastating for me it just shows how in the army if your partner get gunned down it's not just keep going and move on it's about mourning for them and respecting their life even thought they may have the same facial features and height and date of birth it shows independence for the clones and that's what make them fight harder they are fighting for their brothers and eventhough this was devastating for me and lots of other people it may have been a good move as it shows love between brothers. And I just wanna say thst if you have any suicidal thoughts just know you are important to so many other people and they respect you even if you don't respect yourself. at the time of attack of the clones, the troops had just been introduced to their generals, so naturally they weren't as close as they were in the show. By ep 3, we could see friendships formed like Cody and Obi
Echo should've come back later, saying that he survived the explosion, only his face looks like a little like Darth vaders. It sucks that he died, along with is brothers. They were the best in my opinion.
Even if he did survive the explosion. You're forgetting he's alone and surrounded by some deadly variations of the Clankers. Echo had no use to the CIS aside from bait. But considering they didn't, it's more likely that the explosion killed him. Because there was no indication at all that Sobeck was considering using him to bait the survivors into an ambush, suggesting that he died in the blast.

TV shows are introduced to a tv channel they give the amount of seasons there is going to be if it deserves more they give it to them (they really should have continued this but Star Wars rebels will be phenomenal) so yes there is the full explanation my friend take care

They decided to keep him and five's alive throughout the season's as one of the few clone troopers to survive that long. Plus they showed a pair of clone troopers rise from the ranks to ARC-Trooper status just to kill one off. A lot of Work put into them just to kill one off.
I hate how when the tiny Jedi dies, they mourn him like he was a hero but when Echo (and many other clones) die, they don't even aknowledge them beyond yelling their name..
I know this is a old comment but I always hated how the Jedi treated the clone as expendable pieces of field equipment.I was sad when the clones died but not for the Jedi.Its was a pull on the heart strings when I thought he died because we know him from when he was just a cadet on Kamino,to his first battle on the risi moon,to when they got promoted to arcs and to his assumed final fate.The Jedi I never got enough plot development apart form being a asshole for letting that trooper get shot in the face .I shed no tears for him .

Stupid move by Echo, there were plenty of other ways to take that turret down, especially with 4 Jedi around.
If you have seen The hole scene you would see that Echo just followed orders from captain Tarking
