100% I've read a bunch of flashbacks that detract from the story which felt like padding. Uh oh. I think you might be stepping on some toes by suggesting The Godfather 2 be altered (he said, never having seen the movie).
I forget which channel I saw it, but I one network actually aired a version that was only the flashbacks and they stood alone as their own movie. I saw it years ago on TBS or one of those kind of cable TV channels. That always stuck with me because that's when it occurred to me that all those flashbacks stood alone as their own story.
You’ve just given me an excuse to rewatch the second Godfather movie because I need to have a good reason to disagree with with you other than liking Robert De Niro 😂
Do you like flashbacks in your reading? Have you used them in your writing? Let me know!
I like them as long as they're not overused
@@EmmaBennetAuthor same!!
The book that I most recently remember DNF thing because of flashbacks is the Lies of Locke Lamora man was that a frustrating and confusing read
@@authoreloisebahr I hate being pulled out of a story without an equal or greater exchange of another.

Do the Star Wars prequels count as a bad instance of a flashback in fiction?
