  • A highly accurate square should be a tool at the top of your list. Setting up your shop tools to be accurate will lead to better work and save a great deal of money in wasted material. I would argue that an accurate square will pay for itself in a very short period of time. thesmartwoodshop.com/rons-store Tool Link- tsoproducts.com/tso-precision...

Ron, I’ve owned and used the full MTR18 kit for more than 2 years now - Wasn’t a cheap purchase, but wow! - You get what you pay for. Love, love, love it and the accuracy it provides!

Were you still planning to do an update on trying the Woodpeckers In-dexable Combination and/or Double Squares? I'd be interested to learn what you settled (as well as an update on the TSO MTR 18 Triangle if there is anything to add or reaffirm from the video from six months ago).

Cool tool and looks like I need to build the bench out. :)

Do you think Woodpeckers' STORY STICK PRO 96" would make laying out the markings on plywood easier for the Paulk Smart Benches? Looking at your PSS plans it just looks to me as if it would be a super precise way to make layout easier and more accurate.

Hi Ron - love your videos. What dogs do you use with your rail & clips that provide enough clearance for your sacrificial strips?

    Discontinued !

It's not discontinued as of 2021-11-28 including from the TSO Products website. Perhaps you mean the triangle only SKU? The triangle is still very much for sale, they're just shipping the master kit with it now by default which makes sense as it wasn't anywhere near as useful with out. It costs a bit more too.

@@theintelligentcarpenter9407 Lifetime and precision tools don't come cheap, but for production work they save time, which is money, and eventually pay for themselves with up to a lifetime of benefits... Not for everyone, for sure, but efficiency has always been a hallmark of Ron's work... The Festool Miter Saw, for example, is $1500. So he's no stranger to premium tool choices...
@tebbaftw Not an ad, just showing off his new tool and how well it works with his setup, which means it's going to be a regular part of his toolkit now...
@Terry Herrera $444.95 for the whole set, all the accessories he showed that work with it... Something to understand, high precision doesn't come cheap. Machinist level measuring tools can run hundreds to even thousands each, and this is hardly a tiny measuring tool with only one function.
Price goes down the less accurate it is but that depends what you're doing for what is good enough... You couldn't do everything he's doing with a large speed square, at least without multiple tries and work around solutions, but that may be all you need for rough carpentry, for example... But need to do things with accuracy that's also easily repeatable and can be done fast even for complex jobs, then something like this becomes justified...
