I quit, I never had a problem but when I drank it made me feel awful. I’m sober for 7 months now.
6 weeks sober today…I literally quit drinking due to weight gain
Proud of you my brother, we're not alone in this. -your sober texan neighbor
Well done. Stay with it.
Beer gut? And yeah u need therapy shit gonna make u relapse lol
Good for u , keep going 💪💪
Clips like this are one of the few good things the internet has to offer. thank you for that.
Go watch anything she's on, it constantly the same thing all the time... at least when she's not talking about the times she's been ran thru or complains about male comics
Alcohol is the devil. I’ve never heard of anyone who’s life improved with alcohol. I have however, heard a million stories of the drama from people under the influence. Alcohol makes people do the most regrettable things. Momma always said nothing good happens after midnight, and alcohol is usually always at the scene of the crime. I think most would attest. Hard Drugs are a death spiral as well. But our government doesn’t seem to have an issue with it.
I'd argue the government is too worried about the use of substances..... to the point there they protect us from ourselves. Far more lives are ruined by this parenting than saved ie "the war on drugs".
Alcohol is the devil for alcoholics. I think we need to make that distinction because most people drink occasionally and know when to stop or get drunk once in a long while and it’s fun and fine. They’re lives are not adversely impacted
@@Nolooo for sure, but government interference? I don't like the sound of that at all.
@@Nolooo Unfortunately, many have a problem but they don’t think they do. Govt is corrupt beyond repair, they are in our lives too deep and it’s 100% intentional. Authoritarians could care less about what Alcohol and Drugs are doing to the people. They prefer the power, and the money that power brings them, over the lives of the people. People need to look back in history to understand what’s coming for them.
My Mama said foosball is Devil!
She did a great job on Joe Rogan talking about alcohol and her experience quitting. The reality is it’s a poison.
I've been sober 1year 3 months. I thought I had to drink to be around people also? I've found I have just as much fun without alcohol if not more bc you see, hear and remember alot more plus you don't have a nasty hangover and you have a great productive day the next day. I'm thankful I was able to see the light. It's all in your head... It has changed my life unimaginably. Good luck to all those struggling. It doesn't have to be that way.
1 month next week for me! Never again!
@codejunki567 Good for you! Stay strong. You will find that things will get a lot better the longer you stay away from alcohol. Me going sober was one of the best things I've ever done in my life. Good luck to you.
8 yrs..
Yeah I just slipped out of hanging out with frienda where I realised that 90% of our “hanging out” was resolved around drinking.. when you have drinking buddies and stop drinking and there are no more buddies, you don’t really miss those kind of buddies..
Yeah, started drinkin to make me leas socially awkward, and it’s fun, and at one point is was like “I want it to be fun all the time”.. drinking daily for months.. years? Yeah I never though I’m an alcoholic, or I have to drink to feel ok - like some people think is what makes you alcoholic..
No I just liked it.. and after stopping cause there is no upside discovered yeah.. that’s alcoholism
@RoboB3ar Same here! My off button was trashed. I am far less stressed and alot happier since I quit. It truly is one day at a time.
Addiction will attach to something else, make sure it"s body healthy!!!
Congratulations on becoming sober, keep it up ONE DAY AT A TIME. I myself have over 33 years sobriety
I quit because I was going to die if I didn’t. I had to choose to live or die, and I'm still here. My brother chose to continue, and he died, and I miss him. Coming from an alcoholic family and it being a generational one too. I don’t miss drinking, I miss my brother. Once I told myself that I quit, I did. Taking responsibility of your actions is key to quiting bad habits and not blaming anyone or the situation in life from stopping you from quitting. I also quit smoking cigarettes and marijuana. I was not happy, dealing my problems now is easier than when I was using. I'm proud of myself, 12 years sober.
I.been drinking for over 20 years I'm going to do my 3rd detox hopefully last one I will do very well done for all u guys have stopped from England ❤
I totally understand this. I used to drink and smoke weed before doing anything social I've been sober for 9 years now.
7 years here
@@judopanda7169 congratulations!
1year 3 months
She mentions pot.. have you given up pot too??
Cause I think I need to stop pot
Yep hate drinking, I do crazy shit have remorse the whole next day, feels like a Elephant sitting on my chest.
I feel the same exact way as she does. I used to require alcohol to hang around people, now that I’m sober I don’t feel like I need it. I can do everything sober and still have a great time. Quit weed as well, that’s a whole different beast. Weed was a million times harder for me to quit. Many more physical withdrawals, contrary to other people’s experiences.
Im 22 years in sobriety
🎉❤
I haven't drank alcohol since new years eve 1999. I had the hangover from hell so decided to have a dry January. I felt so good and saved a decent bit of cash so I never bothered starting to drink again. I even bought a new car and it wasn't as much as I was spending on alcohol and going out.
That's called not having alcoholism 😅
@@DCfreerunner thanks, genius...
I’ve been struggling with the shit for years… my periods of sobriety are getting longer and longer and my relapse periods are getting shorter, but I’m just so ready to be done and stay done. Idk why the fuck I keep going back
Try kava my bro
I’ve battled with alcoholism and drug abuse most of my adult life. I have segments where I’m clean and California sober. But I found myself in a real bad situation 5-6 years ago battling a meth addiction.
I wasn’t you’re a typical stereotype tweaker, I was moderately together anyways. I had issues, and I was using, but I was functional.
I finally put it all down two years ago, when it dawned on me, “I don’t need this stuff anymore. I don’t like the way it makes me feel. I don’t like who I’ve become. I don’t like the crowd I’m running with. I didn’t like how isolated and removed I become from my sober hobbies and friends. I just stopped. Went through a self at home detox, and it was brutal. Slept for two weeks straight, my metabolism was all screwed up, gained 100 lbs.
Now I lost the weight, I’m back to climbing the corporate ladder, my hobbies, friends and family have all came back and I feel great.
Recovery is possible, to anyone, no matter what you’ve been through. Have faith, be strong, and commit to a better life. Things get better every day.
I totally get that, respect for her honesty 👍
Find the book here that led Nikki to her sobriety.
Thats what stops me from quitting. The social anxiety... with women and large groups I can't do without it.... sucks
A got sick of drinking. It's true I was a good drinker, but that was probably a lie. I mean, looking at my wasted friends and thinking I wasn't just as bad was a delusion. I get my power back 9 days after the last drink.
fun in my 20's and mid 30's but I realised I needed to grow the F up. 😅
I feel like I'm leaning towards being 100% sober, but not quite there yet. I'm doing this thing now where I'll only drink maybe a few times a year, but the thing is, is that when I drink when I haven't drank in a while, I still have that uneasiness in my stomach and I just don't like the feeling of being hungover and losing brain cells. Even after a few white claws! I love having mental clarity, focus, feeling more disciplined, workouts have been better, sleep is better, and not being hungover. I naturally wake up early in the morning and I jump up and get ish done. You also fine out who your true friends are when you chill back on drinking; a lot of those friends you made while drinking tend to dissipate, because you have nothing else in common with them other than drinking.
As a wise group of men once told me, don't change chairs on the Titanic.😉
It's good to hear that things do go back to normal... I haven't given myself enough time quitting before I go back cuz I can't handle life sober
Trying to quit the booze now myself! I agree with the pot
Me too niki! Ride that sober train
I love you Thank you Jesus my dear sister thank you for sharing and being bold we need each other ❤
I like your honesty
I was able to just stop drinking one day 8+ years ago. I would only drink after work but I got drunk everyday or 5/7. I knew for decades I needed to stop . Every morning “I’m not drinking tonight.” But that changed at night. For me personally that’s the best part is I have that own that control now.
To those of you struggling. I have faith you can achieve control. It’s never too late.
Good for her
Strong words All drinkers should hear.a drinker will hurt people near
Just say to yourself one day at a time one minute out of the hour you can do it I've been fighting the battle for 12 years keep the faith
Smart young lady!
Get off of pot. It is a crutch. Be strong ❤
Good for her!!
very relatable
my buddy called me an alcoholic because i drank out of boredom. quit on the spot like 14 years ago
If she's smoking weed she's not clean & sober!
True 👍
Exactly
Please smh
She’s an alcoholic
I mean it’s still better than being addicted to alcohol.
The Devil’s Lettuce 🥬 my Granny 👵🏻 use to call weed 🤣 bless our Grandparents 🙌
Same I've always had social anxiety tho
It's called
MODERATION!
If you learn that concept, and put it to practice you will never have to worry about abusing annnnytying. And you will be able to dabble in whatever you like!
Out of all the possible inhibitors, I think alcohol is the deadliest by far. And since nothing in the gov makes sense, no wonder that is the one they are OK with.
Outstanding….your life will become something beyond anything you can imagine.
Me exactly. It'll be a year since I've drank on the 22nd. But I do smoke alot of weed. It works for me!
So u are saying
U don't value ur lungs?😮
So awesome
Hearing her on the Joe Rogan podcast a few years back really helped me stay sober from the booze
Completely sober . And if you're smoking weed you're still under a spell. But if weed works for you then whatever's clever
Weed is very damaging to the brain 🧠 and it's much more potent than it was in the 80's and it's laced with chemicals and buy spray! I feel like people have lost their ability to cope with stress, naturally 🚩 and everyone looks for a substance to abuse! What happened to mental fortitude? 🙏🏻🕊️🌻
Cool, but that doesn’t take away from someone quitting drinking lol
Let's go for coffee and discuss it.

Smoking 🚬🚭 and drinking KILLED MY ENTIRE FAMILY ON MY DAD'S SIDE! I LOST 💕💜💕 PEOPLE I LOVED❗ ANYTHING THAT MAKE'S YOU ADDICTED TO IT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE SOLD TO ANYONE ❗🚭🍷🍾🤢🤮👿
I'd probably want to die too if I was in your family and I got a text from you with this many emojis in it.
Agreed! I lost my mom, my cousin, and uncle, from because of drugs and alcohol!
Does this include shopping sex food men???
Almost 3 years here no alcohol
Haven’t drank a drop of alcohol in 13 years, January 2010.
Some of the dumbest shit I have ever done was when I was drunk. Cannibas is not a gateway drug Alcohol is.
Love this
Same here
I'll drink to that !!!!
Alcohol has messed my life up good and proper and has always been the root of many bad decisions that I have made over the decades. So no more drink for me from now on
I can not be high and sober at the same time ...Just sayin' --- Half - measures is half - assed.
that pot..makes me try those cigs.
Yeah, not quite high enough on one, chasing the dragon. Alcahol free for 2 yrs, weed free for 60 days, from 3 bongs per day. 🎉
Shut up
@@trudibarraclough478 took my body a full 3 years to completely detox. From both weed and booze. Hang in there.
In my group at 5 years they give you a bag of marbles! It's to congratulate you for making to full sobriety. I'm so thankful to have a group of people around me to call me on my c*** . That's why a fellowship is important.
@@trudibarraclough478 lol what does “3 bongs per day” mean ru sure u smoke 😅
When people say “I don’t think” they will eventually do it. When people say “I won’t or I’ll never” they’re more like to not do it.
I can't just drink one coffee.I do however! highly recommend that.& if anyone tries to stop you? Ignore them. They are haters.yw!👍😎☺️🙂
How am I to deal with alcohol ism. Hope to improve. Slow to give up all
On at a time.
Good for her.
No anny drogs or alcohol
Best life
Weirdly I feel the opposite. Marijuana is too easy for me to abuse. I'll allow myself to stay high 24/7, but I can't drink past a certain point without getting sick, and absolutely hate hangovers, so it's almost like a good physical limit.
You are replacing one unhealthy habit that you use to self-medicate with another. This is absolutely not inspiring…
Only if it causes major distress and dis regulation in your life. It sounds like pot doesn’t do that to her in the same way alcohol does.
The 5 most dangerous words on Planet Earth are " Just one drink won't hurt".....a prelude to VERY bad things happening.....
💜🙏💜
I drank beer nightly for ever to help me sleep I haven't had a beer in 6 years and dont sleep at all then found out I was allergic to weed
2 years sober
Good for you.
Drinking wine 🍷🍾🍷 once a week on the weekend KILLED MY SISTER IN LAW, SHE WAS 46, AND LEFT THREE YOUNG ADULT CHILDREN SHE LEFT BEHIND!😭
😢
A female comedian who can't not talk about sex. Refreshing.
I'm hoping to stop! It really is sucking my life out of me!
She switched to Xanax
Love you #nikkiglaser
Flowers the way .
Put 4 guys in a room that hate each other, introduce alcohol and they'll all probably kill each other. Put pot in that same room and watch the hate fade away.
Some people can't drink and others can.
Stay inspired.
I'm delusional thinking I can have just one!
Stopped Feb 2004 not a drop since 🙃
Elhamdouli li Allah this is why in Islam it is forbidden 🚫 bravo to all people they quit drinking may Allah bless you and give you health and prosperity everyone can do it let’s go gym gym gym is better ❤
You can have fun without drinking. Why would want to do something that makes forget how you were or even more what you did or didn't do. It doesn't make sense. Drink to have fun...have fun to have fun.
I don't use pot to facilitate anything but I do like a to drink in moderation. Alls she is doing is substituting one for the other
It's called California sober, it's a thing
Sober celebrities where being sober is their whole personality.
yeah better than being a slave to booze being your whole personality for sure.
@@leetarrant5630 You mean like Bert Kreischer? Agreed.
Pot jacks me up. I wish it didn’t but it does. Trust when I say, I’ve truly tried all most of it, I don’t like it. I truly like alcohol. I like a beautiful day with alcohol and friends. I don’t have any issues with it because I’m responsible and well….just enjoy it. A wedding, brunch, evening cool brisk air, games, all better with alcohol.
For now.
Your comment really sounds arrogant. That's fine that you enjoy drinking.. I think the many people who used to have issues with it are just concerned that people like you will end up with the same addiction. No one goes into addiction with the mindset of becoming addicted. They ALWAYS think they are "responsible and well." But it happens because alcohol is meant to cause addiction and MANY health problems, even if you only have a drink or two daily. It's poison and it poisons you and that's why you get a buzz. I wish you luck since you think you're untouchable.
lol..id most people drink excessively socially cuz they have social anxiety... but some drink to drown memories, trauma...some are lonely..ptsd......i prefer alcohol over weed
truth
Pot. turns me into a social hermit. immediately. so what is the pull? Grest idea to just not drink its dangerous to most. Great job!
Pot is indica or sativa or hybrid. First, to relax muscles, second to stimulate creativity, or a combination.
Alcohol has never enhanced the lives of others!
Instead it destroys the people you love and it makes them unrecognizable, there no longer happy at all! And these companies get away with MURDER ❗🤢🤮👿
The difference is, alcohol is a hard drug, where cannabis is a soft drug. GOOD CHOICE!
Funny thing, if I understood her correct, is that she wouldn't want to quit the pot but she could easily leave the alcohol? That is just addiction jumping in a nutshell imo. Understand your weaknesses and work with that first.
Sober 33 years with no weed.🎉
That doesn't make you better ❤
@@brianglavey8775 No, it makes me 33 years of clarity with no weed. ❤️👍
What exactly does pot “facilitate” ?
Marijuana is a gift from God.
Good for you, but it’s really about control. You’re the one that should know when to stop. It’s a struggle but don’t let it control your life.
No alcohol in 7 years but pot 2 times a day
A little'coke' with a weed chaser😂🤣
