    I really do understand and feel bad for her. I’m also a swiftie who has probably said a few things at some point that weren’t appropriate and I would be so so crushed if Taylor swift saw me saying something that made her feel shit.

      Taylor is worth a billion dollars. Not only would she not care, she likely wouldn't piss on you if you were no fire. Anna, please get a grip

    It is so interesting to me that they chose to use Nikki Glaser as an example in the documentary because Nikki Glaser has 99 examples of talking about how much she loves Taylor compared to this one time where she said something bad about her

      That might make taylor feel worse because her fans, aka some of the only people who who have constantly have her back, to know that even they think she's too skinny could hurt ALOT

    Nikki was taken out of context. I am including below the wider context of what Nikki said in that interview, and bolding the bits that got included in Miss Americana:
    _"I love Blank Space, it's one of my favorite songs...it's THE best song. She's too good. _*_She's too skinny, it bothers me. All of her model friends._*_ You have to have a thigh gap to hang out with her. They screen all her model friends. _*_And it's just like, come on!_*_ Enough with the model friends. They can't be that great."_
    If people saw the whole interview with Nikki, they would have known the catty comments she made were said out of a desire to be friends with Taylor, whose music Nikki admires - Nikki felt jealous at Taylor's friends as Nikki didn't feel she could look 'model' enough to ever be friends with Taylor. Those comments were not said out of hate for Taylor, they were coming from envy and love for Taylor. Nevertheless, Nikki didn't complain about being taken out of context, and apologized fully for her comments.
    The big irony in this is, Taylor knows better than most people how hurtful it can be to have an edited out-of-context clip of you released to the public to support a narrative (her phone call with Kanye, 2016). Yet her documentary did to Nikki what Taylor had done to her just a few years before. I don't blame her though, Taylor would have never included that clip of Nikki if she had seen the whole interview or known in advance Nikki is a Swiftie. I blame the filmakers and their researchers for editing that clip.

      But do you realize the offense of those comments still? “You have to a thigh gap to hang with her” Like what? She respects her as an artist but still hurt her even though Taylor was getting so much shit. Never underestimate the power of your words. Something small and cute may be hurtful to others.

      @A_friendwithoutbenefits Год назад

      @@detwynner5 don’t think having a thigh gap is always a bad thing. I have a bit of a thigh gap myself, never bothered me. I don’t consider it an insult, and Nikki most likely didn’t neither

      mostly everyone in media have those personnality traits. that includes the music business.
      any setups where you have asymmetric relationships to a one-to-many audience broadcast this will happen
      you can't empathize with 10000 people all at once. in a conversation we empathize with one person at a time.
      but when you have too person who are both from the mediatic bubble or both from upper class realities then yes there's a big disconnect with what common people can relate with

      How did she make it all about herself. This is an interview with Nikki Glaser to get her thoughts on a matter, and she explained quite cogently that her hurtful comments were the result of personal issues that she should have dealt with.
      Way to take a very humble moment and turn it into some bullshit accusation about narcissism.

    Saying you are a fan does not make it okay saying she is too skinny and everything
    Now you’re playing victimg and you’re making taylor as a bad guy

    • @KMCB12
      @KMCB12 Год назад

      At no point during that interview clip did Nikki in ANY WAY make Taylor out to be the bad guy. I adore Taylor Swift and I hate when people hurt her, but you really misread Nikki here. Nikki owned her shit in this clip. And I really appreciate that. She apologized publicly to Taylor right after it happened and Taylor forgave her publicly. And when asked about it in interviews like this one, I have only seen Nikki own up to how she was in the wrong, how much she loves Taylor, how badly she felt for hurting Taylor in any way, and explain how what she said had absolutely nothing to do with Taylor doing anything wrong and everything to do with Nikki's own issues. That is how we should all hope to react when we say something wrong and/or say something that hurts someone.
