    I would love:
    1) better presenatation and opening ceremonies
    2) An auction system like IPL
    3) Dedicated game highlights and commentaries posted on yt of all games
    4) have 3/4 teams qualify for playoffs like IPL. It feels some teams are robbed by a whisker even after putting up a good show.
All in all, this season felt a step in the right direction. kudos!

    My suggestions:
    1. Opening &closing ceremony should be better
    2. Streaming in YT of all games & ceremony
    3. Interview of the players after games
    4. Fun interviews of team members together, so we can see their interactions

    • @strangeme8164

Streaming on yt,inteerview of players...do you think it is feadible though?
All players will not be in right mood after games so planned interview tho mushkil hai, and gcl would try to grow where they can sell the show like ipl dis to star network so yt PE stream kyun karenge??

@@strangeme8164 these are just suggestions, not a demand. They will do whatever is possible and best for them! I suggested what I like! And in many tournaments, they interview players for 5-10mins, it's not that crazy. And i like YT stream better, it is more interactive and fans can send chats. But that doesn't mean, I am demanding it.

Please consider having a 1 second increment after 40 or 50 moves. And may be show the graphics for top 3 stockfish moves for the next move.. that could be a little better for a viewer.

When the players finish their game, can they & captain/coach sit on the bench close to the board instead of going to a room, similar to the sudden death game in season 1. We can watch the emotions of all the players on the bench while their team mates are playing. I still remember the TCK team mates rush in joy to congratulate jonas victory and yangzi climbing the barrier in joy. It was memorable as it is a team events.

Instead of having 2 teams in the finals; 4 teams qualifies & then the ipl like playoffs would be amazing!
Putting the tournament pairing in advance on chess youtube channels & websites with tieup from them along with daily schedule, results & points tables would increase the reach.

    Just one teeny tiny suggestion
There are too many pair ups in a day which is difficult to follow too may be reduce some games and we can have a post match review of important moments in all the boards would make the info digestible for beginners like us.
The ups are really the point system lived it.
This season was such a upgrade and looking forward for season three.

An advice: For upheaval of GCL, maintain a criteria that only candidates qualifiers, circuit or championship winners etc are allowed to participate. This will reduce unnecessary Indian dominance which will hinder its popularity fir the next decade atleast due to Anti- India hate etc, and also on positive side actually give Standards to GCL.
    - Similarly GCL Juniors/ or Countey based for National lvl players might be made to conpete who don't get chance to elite Swiss challenge/ candidates/ curcuits- GCL must fill that gap instead of Doing nonsense with 8teams/ Broadcast (- which was horrible)

Six boards playing simultaneously with short time controls make it difficult to follow.
I think one man should be playing at a time. Each man playing another man from another team building up the excitement with six games one after the other. Even though it is a team event the player were not able to follow their teammate's game and they were having trouble.
I think the time control is exciting and I love it.
And also there are too many pair-ups in a day. I think it should be one pair each day with six games of 20 mins each.
O hope you pick up these recommendations.

    • @Saransh43
      @Saransh43 2 дня назад +4

Each game lasts for 40 mins, If one player plays at a time it would take 4 hours to finish one match. With 3 matches in a day, it would take almost 13-14 hours. And next season there will be 8 teams i.e. 4 matches, which means by your idea the entire event would take 18 hours to finish.

Ever wondered, team names appealing to people's shared sense of regional identity would not only create a loyal fanbase that would naturally root for them no matter the players (which would obviously change every year) but also attract more eyeballs on the "global" stage?
American Gambits is a good start but no idea what the "Alakan Knights", the "Alpine Pipers" or the "Continental Kings" are targeting, other than causing confusion to some of the commentators every year? (Alaskan Knights become Kings and Continental Kings become Knights during the commentary or the presentation) 😅
    * For instance Meow-Meow Munich Mercenaries would attract more (urban) cats than the Alaskan mules by the Alaskan Knights.
    * Also please have better commentators and presenters next time, memorising 6 team names properly wasnt too much to ask for.
The RedFM presenter that was present at the venue was doing a far better job with the interviews for her channel than the offcial GCL presenter, Keti
Every thing else was top notch.

I have sent at least couple of emails directly to Global chess league but there was no response. so I have to disagree with his comment. for any sport, scorecard is important but they lack the fundamental feature. I have given examples based on my observation. they could show some courtesy with an acknowledgement or a response. This is the only tournament I don't like to watch. fooling people. would root for someone else who starts it as a competition. i bet someone from the middleeast would... where the pockets are deep.
bottomline. we are unable to follow this league. were not able to understand what is going on .

Was Gandhi really a Mahatama or a British stooge?
Not only was he responsible for the suppression of the royal Indian naval mutiny of 1946, but also the slaughter, rape and forcible conversions of thousands of Hindus during the Moplah/ Mappilas genocide because of his direct support to the Khilafat movement ( which called for the re-establishment of the caliphate )
    Quoting "Mahatma" Gandhi below :
"Forcible conversions are horrible things but Moplah bravery must command admiration. These Malabaris are not fighting for the love of it. They are fighting for what they consider is their religion and in the manner, they consider it religious"

I follow every tournament that Indian players play in. This tourney had everyone and still I couldn't bring myself to follow this one. Last year, followed for the novelty. Finals was great.
What's the point of it? What's at stake? What are they playing for? Nothing!
    1. Its not like an upcoming player is going against the top guys. Prodigies are playing prodigies. Maybe shuffle the board order?
    2. Why is the Indian league not in India?
    3. Why are the names so random?
    4. If you have auctions, why was it not shown to public?
1 year preparation for this event is baffling.
Fans first event, did the fans even knew the teams composition before the event.
Give Sagar 1 hr interview with each team and that could have produce something special.
