Check out Hai Yang's techniques. I've never studied with him, he's in Montreal and I'm from the west coast USA, but his techniques are definitely impressive in terms of his speed, control and ability to apply the principles in his fighting techniques. He's also Cheng Style Baguazhang. Check his Xingyi out too.
Ba Gwa is one of the supreme Gung Fu methods, to be sure...But, this is merely a very rapid demonstration, not, so much meant for, instructional purposes... : (

there is fight on youtube where a suposed bagua guy fought a kickboxing guy and tried to apply a tehnique similar to 0:53. Yeah, you all can imagine how that turned out......
That's why Bagua teaches you to move around in circles so that you don't get into tight space situations. And even if you were, it teaches you to be elusive and counter. Plus, it is based on wrestling, and wrestling is far more effective than boxing.
Yess!! Dong HaiChuan and YinFu worked for Royal Palace and regularly went to Mongolia to collect tax. Imagine how those proud Mongols wouldn't want to pay and he had to subdue and in the process he must have learnt a huge deal of ShuaiJiao as well from Mongols
My God.. People are delusional if they think this is what Dong Hai Chuan fought like inside the palace walls. This looks just like form interpretation.. Not combat application of bagua.. I dare say that this lineage lost its combat art.. Just like most of the others. No idea about Bagua combat..
This is great. A lot of Bagua applications online don’t look too good, these look really good.

old ? yes, but never fought in a real fight all his life. Won't last 0.5 seconds in a fight.
No touch of deaths, not a master
@Someone who know how to they prolly don’t use a fight stick
amazing! Didn´t know that pratical application of Bagua resembles grappling...
That first one with the spin looks complicated and dangerous against a trained fighter.
Yes, all the application on the beginning side. Tahnak you so much. Best regards.Paul,67
perfectly demonstrated bullshido😂
So ankle picks don't work then

Solid applications, thanks for sharing
No wonder the Japanese were able to efficiently beat them up with karate.
Thank you Amazing content
This art reminds me a bit of Aikido.. a little.Just the concepts.Although obviously there is SO much more to it.
yeah, I'm guessing it's also about a thousand years older...

Yeah, you all can imagine how that turned out......
The application he gave here was not correct. This move is only used when someone tries to lock your arm
02:40 👍
You just get punch in the face from doing shit like that!!!! Boxing 52blocks judo ju jutsu works at some degree in tight spaces .
Cheng Hai Ting, the founder of the style they're practicing, was a champion wrestler. I think he would disagree with you.

Lund fighting
I realise that most baguazhang techniques are from wrestling correct me if I wrong
Depends on the style I think
Yes i agree, tai chi as well is almost all grappling

Cheng bagua especially. Yin bagua also has grappling and throwing techniques, but very different body mechanics.
