This is from the 1980's. He's elderly now. But it's still really applicable.
Oleander Pink He's 65! That's not "elderly"
Actually in the United States 65 is the accepted age of elders. It is the age one is considered "elderly" and can begin using Medicare. It used to be 62 and has been raised to 67 for people born after 1960 or 61. It's always debatable but yes, 65 is elderly. I myself am almost 55 and can get "senior discounts" in many places including senior housing.

Depends on where you are. They pronounce the in the UK, but it is silent in the US.
