This type of video, is just something magical. Sims dont do it justice, I can't begin to understand the fear factor coming into this track. Also the sheer beauty of this place, the stories it must have. Truly the mecca for any automotive enthusiast.
Thank you Mischa. I keep thinking what else will he do now, hasn't he done it already. Then after a video like this, I realize there's a literal lifetime of content you can make. Salut comrade, keep well.
The elevation, camber, and having time to digest the track during an on-foot walk-through are great work! Thanks Misha & Adrian!
Hello Misha, I play Assetto Corsa since 2013 and most of the time I drive on Nordschleife, so I got over two thousands laps on it and the things you are saying about this track are amazing! Those parts of the track are (and "feels") exactly how you describe them. Really nice content. Thank you for your knowledge and time you giving to these videos! Have a nice day :)
Loving the track walks videos, keep them coming Misha. Hope one day we can have a lap at the ring. Greetings from Argentina!
I LOVE the mixture of Vlog style filming with the Cinematics!
I am back my friend, my brother. Been busy with weddings and guests stuff. Now I can catch up on the content I missed in peace. Twenty-Seven videos to be exact, await me. Can't wait to get on with it. Will start tomorrow probably. No one cares but I had to let you know.
Welcome back
@@subver6787 Thanks mate
That’s the best comment I’ve seen in a long time 😂😂
Have a good one
Welcome back haha
Weddings sound good!
I really enjoy in this small series of track walk it really gives you another perspective on the track
James, best driver's excuse 👍👍On a serious note, awesome how you and Adrian show every single meter of assphalt!
meet you on this one, loved the explains and quality on the video , thx!
That corner scares me in video games. I can't imagine approaching in 4th gear in real life. 😳
same here, and the first time i've done it for real, it's scared the shit out of me. Metzgerfeld and Kallenhard, where my nightmare. but with practice, it's all good. Now it's more Plantzgarten 2 that scare me.
Yeah man. Wicked another track walk. 🔥✌
Love it! Both the history of the track and how to make the "perfect lap"!
Thanks to you misha the nurburghring is very quickly becoming my dream destination for a holiday, im fast around here in a sim but i really want to have a go and see what its really like, which im sure is a lot different, more dangerous and nerv racking too!, i dont need to set a time or anything i will just be happy to be there
agree
I love your videos, especially these, which contain a lot of informations about this beautiful track!❤
very cool and interesting video, well explained. Good job buddy.
Veeery interesting and well explained, full of details. And some points I had no idea of. 😮
sincerely this is a mega piece of work misha🤝
Who else gives you this detailed look .... thanks misha 🇬🇧
Keep them coming! Thanks💫🏎️
In sim, I tend to crash at Kallenhard more than any other corner, so thanks for this!
Great shots !!
And commentary isn’t bad ether 😅 Thanks !
Mate, the calm sound in the ring is incredible 🫂
Excellent insight 👍
Now it all comes together for me.
My fears have been justified. This track is to be respected. The camber and elevation gains and losses are fascinating.
I learned that corner the hard way 🥲 Goeie video man! Altijd veel nuttige info in je video's! 😆
Those drone shots 😍 Mega video dude. Never noticed that white dot befire James corner, but now I’m going to look for it. 😅
Love these walk-along the track videos
Roll on June. Can’t wait to do some laps
Thanks Misha, this is one of the sections I could never get right in Assetto Corsa, with this video, I can use your advice and do better laps!
I just startend learning the Track, because i want to visit it with my friends and these Videos are helping me alot to transfer Form Assetto Corsa to real life I guess.
I love this section of the track, we are always camping in Metzgesfeld since 2014 for the 24h race. What makes Kallenhardt even more tricky is in the wet. You REALLY have to do a wet line there, there is almost no grip on the inside in rainy conditions (probably because of even more rubber there because of understeering front wheels in the banked turn). Every time in wet conditions there are code browns to be seen in this corner.
Misha your content Is pure gold! I understand if understeer on kallenhard Is too dangerous, i seen the risk outside the curve, the game doesn't show that, I'm talking about the project cars.
You are great teaching about the Nordschleife circuit. Best regards! And God bless You!
Spun in Kallenhard on my very first lap in the wet in November 2008. Was tip-toeing around very gently. When I applied the throttle gently the back went immediately. No issues, but I was even more careful after. After doing a RSR training a few years later, I got to grips with the track a lot better.
I've been driving this track on Iracing for awhile now, this is great information! I can finally drive the entire track without the drive line turned on. I hope to one day get to visit .
First I’m learning of the turn in dots. Interesting. Any chance you can edit in map cutaways with arrows to reference the exact place you are talking about for those of us who are not so familiar with the names and locations of the track? Thx.
The lack of barriers certainly didn't help, but prior to 1973 the approach to Kallenhard was faster because Metzgesfeld was just a left that went straight down to Kallenhard without the left-right jink. I do love your videos, so keep them coming!
Great video as always. But can I just say... "My passenger was too fat" has got to be the BEST driver excuse EVER!!!
yeah, it's a bit of a ridiculous statement
Vermeer is getting some free ad time at my favorite track on Earth no less. I was a Vermeer horizontal drill tech out of college.. sight for sore eyes.
14:49 that's what I did, and made a Miss-Hit-Hit corner
Very intetesting content!
6:09 yes very true. This corner is sometimes challenging to do. I sometimes brake to late and go to wide. Or hitting that red bump would unsettle the car. Mostly I struggle with rwd. But awd can be controlled easier if you f up.
Thanks, man ! Very engaging and informative as usual. You reference rear wheel drive cars at one point and it made me wonder what my 2004 Volvo V70 T5 could achieve as a front wheeler ? I'd send it to you for your perusal but the cost of shipping from Toronto would be about 10 times the value of the car. That said, I have a top mechanic who services the vehicle which I can no longer drive due to loss of eyesight. So my famous little old lady from Nashville, Claire Lynch (Google her and Dolly Parton) does the driving and constantly grumbles about the stick shift. Women.. ! MEN !! Sheesh. Rock on with your bad self. Oh, I also really dig the drone footage. Sweet !!
Oh man, this section especially felt tricky when I last drove Nürburgring-Nordschleife on Project Cars. But I still love the flow of this track, very satisfying to get a clean lap even if it's not the fastest. I hope one day to get an opportunity to visit Germany and go around the circuit at least as a passenger and maybe then as a driver with some not-too-expensive car...
I live about 2 hours away from it and drove ot once a few years ago after thousands of sim laps. The experience is worth it :)
But dont underestimate ^^ No game, and no video catches the forces and elevation. At Fuchsröhre i could barly hold on to the g force at only 130kph 🤣
There should be a Nürburgring foot race once a year.
Good video
Oh I know these walls all too well from my childhood... And my adult years hahaha
I had this on my wall as a kid jumping over the crest of a hill. That along with a Delta Integrale and the Sierra Cosworth. For us working class and even now "middle class" in the UK, these are still firmly out of our reach. It was an absolute thing of beauty and a big eff you to the bourgeoisie.
If plane tickets weren't so expensive I'd love to go there, and if shipping a car was way cheaper I'd really love to try that track. Unfortunately I don't think it would make it past customs lol
Is your car made of cocaine?
You can (and probably should) rent a car at the track. It will be race prepped and insured, for couple hundred euros. Much safer than taking your own car.
Only done around 20 laps of the 'ring in total, many years ago, but am a full signed-up member of the Kallenhard brown trouser club :)
to me, is the corner of drift. But only in Assetto corsa eheh
Salute to the GreenHell GOAT Misha and all my car brothers 🫡
It's crazy how I know that place to perfection eeven if I have never been there... just from assetto corsa lol
Right it’s totally memorized in my mind.
Cool 😎
That guy on the bike is my kind of vibe if I was there in person hahaha
i love this videos
This Video helps me, big thank !
Something to keep in mind is that when lots of people were having bad accidents at Kallenhard, the left/right after Metzgesfeld didn't exist, so guys were exiting Metzgesfeld flat out, going down the hill, and entering Kallenhard with a ton of speed.
0:35 is there a name to that part of the track where the famous pine tree grows? It's after Adenauer Forst and before Metzgesfeld, but there is no specific name for that section, or is there?
In the onboard Videos it is really difficult to guess all the up and downs and how long and how tight the turns are.
In these track walk Videos, additional with the drone, you get a better idea for what's going on here.
Evolution of the nurburgring historic just like good wood great job for saving automotive sport for future.
I call it the corner of death in gran turismo because I think I can take it faster than I actually can when I go into it. I get sent into the shadow realm every single time.
Didn't realize they had medallion sized brake point markers embedded in the track. That's pretty cool. Seems like they'd be easy to miss.
What kind of friend are you there? I often see your channel testing all types of cars.
I like your channel.
every MR GT3 short video was a screamer ! what a beast cornering !
its so tranquil right now , you can here the birds churping, you definatly need to be aware of the cambers in speilgle curber or it will spit you out very suddenly into the wall
10:13
i usually just keep the throttle pinned and shift up just before i turn in.
it doesn't work with all cars though.
Wondering how many meters of gardrails are exchanged each year at the ring^^
Wow 👌
Misha, what kind of car do you have in mind while explaining the corners? because I assume if it’s a 200hp car vs a 400hp wouldn’t the speeds vary and therefore the breaking points be different? Loving this series btw
He's giving us pretty conservative breaking points here. This stuff will get you round safely and quick enough to scare you.
Cant wait until i have saved up enough to take a drive down to drive the track in real life :)
I used to go in the late 90's early 2000's probably done around 1500 miles in various cars, it's a great track, just go and enjoy , don't try to set the world on fire ..and don't be a hero...
Have a great day everyone 👍
Post 103 is one of those corners I just never seem to get right.. thankfully too slow usually, not sure why.. just don't seem to like that left hander 🤣
Do they ever host running events at the Ring? One lap is about a half-marathon, e.g.
Once I lapped that circuit flat out without braking once.
big w
My miss-hit-miss usually involves missing the apex and hitting the barrier :v
The nordschleife is an amazing track because it pushes the capabilities of cars and drivers alike, plenty of technical corners and high speed sections where the highest risks bring crazy rewards as long as they don't end you.
if you have added some example video clip of accident to show how difficult to attack this corner, that would have been more helpful. nonetheless very insightful video. great job!
At the 2:15 mark, I saw a track map behind the orange barrier.
Is that a depiction of "you are here" ?
too bad you didnt mention the dimple when braking towards metgzerfeld, i actually had a big unsettle there on the braking zone, been struggling alot on that corner on where to place the car on the brake zone
6:35 - MCM reference or something else?
What about the numerous corners of Pikes Peak that have no barriers...
It's my dream one day to drive here
James´ left? I thought i´m fit in Nordschleife. Perfect insider ;)
👍👍🔥
please do a lap in the tour bus? under 15 min? lol
Decreasing radius, after a fast section.. yup a challenge
Misha, how does one find out when the bicycle laps are going down?
The site of the ring maybe? Or Google
In the hole video nowbody took that curve.
Yeah that corner of death is also a bitch because it's blind. I came around there once and on the exit of the corner was a Twingo facing the wrong way half on the grass and half in the road with a bunch of guys just jumping out of it. Thankfully my car was nowhere near the limit at the time so some extra right lock helped us avoid but could easily have been way worse!
can you still paint the nurburing like the old graffiti on it right now
11:24 I have been playing on multiple Racing video games and its true. This corner looks *Very innocent* i often crashed or widen kn that corner because from far away this corner looks like like a easy medium right corner but when you realised is actualy a sharp right corner its already too late for Braking. And you will wide and hit the iron wall near the outside apex.
Personally in racing GAMES, yes, I know that isn’t real life. I’ve found the section after the karussel to be the trickiest because those chain in such a beautiful way… Yet if you make a single small mistake it will be amplified by the end
🏁Misha 🔝🇪🇸🤘🏻
i‘d love to drive there once but i‘m scared of it 😂 never been on a racetrack and only have a normal car XD … and i would also be scared by other drivers regardless of them being pros or noobs.. 😂
You told us in this vid, that Nürburgring is a public road. Is it a Bundesstraße or is it a Autobahn? I never saw a Autobahn traffic sign, so it must be a Bundesstraße with the speedlimit of 100 km per hour.
Takk!
THANK YOU!
Misha, which car simulator do you think gets the Nüburgring the most correct in your opinion?
Assetto Corsa is the one you want and one that Misha use
Are these white turning spots on the track new? Never noticed so far...
Few years old
So track is closed for maintenance
